Exercise 1 In Society today everyone glorifies sports athletes. They are looked at as role models heroes and just super human people. People get so hyped up into their fame that people overlook the fact that they put in a lot of work to get where they are at today. My project will show you how athletes are misrepresented in the media and in society as a whole. After reading this paper you should have a better understanding of what it is like to be an student athlete and know how it is misreprensted in the media. Giving people the false impression about the difficulty of being a college athlete. People fail to realize the sacrifices that are made and the time devoted. When people see (picture 1) they see a person celebrating in the end zone . They fail to realize what this person had to do to be able to get to this point. They don’t think about the countless hours Sunday through Friday he had to spend to be able to perform on Saturday. Figure 2 icing my legs after morning runs Playing a College sport does have many positives but there are just about as many negatives as positives. If you ask in College athlete do you from a scale of 1-10 how does your body feel? Most of them will not give you an answer over 7. The wear and tear day in and out of being a college athlete specifically in sports that involve more physical contact is ridiculous. Personally speaking as a College football player that been playing for the last 4 years. I would say my body was in so much better condition after graduating high school rather than now coming towards the end of my college career. You’re going to be so sore and someday not be able to walk up a flight of steps or be able to bed over to pick things up. But you’ll live because you have about 90 other people counting on you that is just as sore and upset they have to do all this extra work that gets unnoticed by the media. I playing college football but that’s it. I don’t like the extra stuff that is involved with football. But looking back at it I don’t regret playing because it helped build the person that I am today and helped me make a lot of new friends. . And how the media fails to allow people to see the full picture rather than just the perks of being a college athlete.
