A colleges academic message can be identified by looking at a school’s website. When I typed in Georgia Southern on google and pressed their webpage, I was impressed. The first thing that drew my attention was the picture on the main page. It was a picture of four big brick buildings, under a perfect blue sky surrounded by green pine trees. As I explored more of the website, I saw on the right side there was a blue line that had the words helpful links written inside in white. Grazing down the list, I noticed there was a link for Georgia Southern’s mission. Reading through their vision and mission, it talked about how Southern’s is dedicated to excellence in teaching and developing students for life success. As I read that, leaning back in my chair the words life success really got me. Georgia Southern’s message to students is that their education is something that can be used for life success.
There is plenty of different ways Georgia Southern supports their message of life success throughout their website. Southern provides direct access to myGeorgiaSouthern right on the front page on the top right corner. When logged in there is several places to click on that can help with a student’s academic achievement. Under my apps the logo that looks like a green, yellow and blue recycling sign, is a place where all of a user can store his/hers documents. Also, something convenient about the app is that a student can access their docs on any computer when signing into myGS. I have used myGS many times already in the four weeks that I have been here. It helps with me organizing with all my work, because everything is in on spot instead of all scattered around a computer. Southern provides a free download for Office360 on myGS under the T...

When I was looking through Georgia Southern’s website it really made me feel like I made the right choice on where to attend college. With the school’s academic mission being life success grabbed my attention immediately. Who would not want to attend a school that is dedicated to guide their students in the direction for life success? The website has everything a student could need to succeed. From the pictures that give off emotional vibes, to the wonderful explanations in great detail of the ways Southern can help a student excel. How Georgia Southern’s website displays itself, it definitely persuades a reader that they want you to have life success with their education.
