Recommended: opposing views on homosexual parenting

Introduction
I. Most People dream of the day where they meet their soul mate and fall in love.
II. They are comforted with knowing they have someone to spend the rest of their life with, make a family with, and share the securities promised to them by this country.
III. Unfortunately same sex couples are being denied these rights in about thirty three U.S states.
IV. Today, I am going to illustrate the reasons why same sex marriage should be legal. And why a topic that has been discussed so many a times needs to be addressed holistically so that all of America can enjoy equal liberties.
TRANSTION-Opposition nowadays towards same sex marriage is outdated and irrelevant.
Body
I. People who are against gay marriage typically argue that homosexual couples are unsuitable parents due to the fact that they cannot conceive a child without help from a third party. So because of this they shouldn’t be allowed to marry since the sole reason for marriage is to have a baby.
A) This is pointless because there are many married couples that don’t have children. In addition gays and lesbians shouldn’t be labeled unfit to be parents because to this day no credible study has been recorded that says otherwise.
B) In fact a study done by the AAP, American Academy of Pediatrics shows that children raised in homes with two parents of the same sex develop just as normally as their peers.
1. Stating that on an average children form lesbian households, were seen as attainting higher grades acquiring more self-esteem, and being less prone to developing behavioral problems.
TRANSITION-These are just some of the outdated arguments used.

    There are many opponents of gay people as it is, and they all have their reasons to dislike the idea of permitting them get married. One of the main reasons is that the primary purpose of marriage is procreation. Because gay couples are unable to have children, they should not be allowed to marry (Schiffen 495).
