Working in the medical field can be stressful and any care team must be able to think critically and efficiently. Most importantly, the care team must work together, facing the many circumstances life can bring into those double-doors. Whether it be as a nurse, medical assistant, veterinarian or as a veterinary technician, there is one common goal they all share, and that is to save lives and heal the ill in any way that they possibly can.
I believe as a veterinary technician I will be faced with many challenges and heartache on a daily basis. I will be introduced to situations that can be hard to bare--seeing animals that show the typical signs and symptoms of malnourishment and abuse. Having to unfortunately euthanize or observe euthanization of an animal due to a chronic illness or financial reasons by the caregiver(s)(“owner”). I will also vaccinate and administer medications to an animal under a veterinarian’s order and supervision. I will perform alongside the veterinarian with examinations and obtain bodily fluids such as blood, urine, or feces for further diagnosis. I will be present in observing and aiding an animal in need of medical assistance. I will fortunately be there to witness an animal walking on “all fours” along the path to their successful recovery. As a veterinary technician my purpose will be to allow the patient to feel and look healthy. I would love to see the caregivers’ faces change from concerned to relieved and thankful. I realize as a veterinary technician I will have to accept the good moments along with the bad.
I am extremely interested in pursuing my life career as a veterinary technician because I believe any animal’s welfare and stability is just as important as a human being’s. I absolutely...

...animals in need. I will be able to walk in every day and be the reason an animal walks away wagging its tail, or just feeling better. I cannot wait to work alongside a veterinarian and fellow technicians or assistants. I believe that the way I feel about an animal’s welfare will make me an appropriate asset to any veterinary care team. I understand that animals have all the feelings and the emotions humans have. I wish to make a difference in an animal and he or she’s caregivers’ life. I know that as a veterinary technician it will not be easy and the recovery of an animal will not always unfortunately be successful. I will try my absolute best to aide in the well-being of any animal no matter what. I will remember what college and my instructors have taught me and I will use the skills in my career doing what I have always wanted to do--give back to animal lives.
