Being in the position where I am able to help people and make a difference in someone's life has been a goal of mine since elementary school. Within the medical field I figured I could achieve this. I have looked into many different options that the medical field has to offer. Something about nursing just stuck out to me, but I knew I wanted something a little bit higher then just a nurse. This is why the number one career that I want to pursue is a Registered Nurse. Along with this job comes a lot of things that I need to learn and adapt to in order to be successful. I am willing to learn and put forth all my effort to insure that I can prosper in this field and know what I need to do to get there. Registered Nurses have a lot of responsibilities and duties that they complete on a daily basis. Some of the more typical things that they do is monitor, record and report changes in a patient's condition. They take and record patients medical information and vital signs. Also, they modify the patient's treatment plans as indicated by the patients responses. Another task that they do is order and evaluate diagnostic tests to figure out a patient's conditions. The main difference between a normal nurse and a registered nurse is a registered nurse is at the top and supervises the less-skilled nurses while they treat the patients. Not only do registered nurses deal with patients they also instruct the families and other groups on health education, disease prevention, and Succeeding in this career means following all of the personal and professional characteristics and developing the ones that are a little weaker. I plan on doing this whole heartedly because I want to be in a situation where I can benefit and help people.
