Sudetenland
It refers to the area of Czechoslovakia that were mainly inhabited by ethnic Germans. Spielvogel noted that “the Sudetenland also contained Czechoslovakia’s most important frontier defenses and considerable industrial resources as well” (836). Hitler knew the importance of this land. To gain this land, he required the cession of it to Germany, otherwise, he may start a war. He successfully persuaded Britain and French not to defend Czechoslovakia, which allowed Germany to occupy the Sudetenland. It should be studied today because this land consists a large number of German speakers so that Hitler wanted to occupy it. The Munich Agreement was signed during this process, in which the Sudentenland was ceded to the Germany.


Blitzkrieg
It was a military strategy that was first used by the Germans in the World War II, which was known for its speed and efficiency. Spielvogel noted that German armies combined armored columns with airplane to conduct quick breakthrough and encirclement of the Polish armies (840). They used dive bombers and a kind of scary sirens, and all of these implements of war added a sense of honor to the whole attack. It should be studied today because this is the first time that the war combines with both the ground and air force as a tactic. The initiator in the blitzkrieg has the great advantage during the fight, which changes the military strategies in the modern war to a large extent.

Grand Alliance
It mainly refers to the alliance of the United States, the Great Britain and the Soviet Union during the World War II.
