But there was a need for a computerized statistics program to analyze vast amounts of agricultural data collected through United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) grants. Development of such software was critically important to members of the University Statisticians Southern Experiment Stations, a consortium of eight land-grant universities that received the majority of their research funding from the USDA. The schools came together under a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop a general-purpose statistical software package to analyze all the agricultural data they were generating. The resulting program, the Statistical Analysis System, gave SAS both the basis for its name and its corporate beginnings. Multiple drafts are run by numerous members of the marketing department in order to construct a letter that addresses all of the issues at hand. This may take weeks to write a letter that is approved by all members. Fundraising letters can be distributed one of two ways. The old fashioned “snail-mail” or the modernized email. Depending on the method used to get the word out, a few extra elements are needed. For snail mail, postage is crucial to getting the letter to the intended reader. Time is a component that is involved in this method as well. It usually takes 5-8 business days to receive a letter in the mail, therefore that needs to be kept in mind. If time is a possible limitation of the recipient receiving the letter, an email can be sent which is arguably less effective, due to the fact that “snail-mail” seems more personal to the reader. If the organization decides to draft an email, clearly, the proper technology is required from both

Manufacturing businesses and business leaders need to increase their focus on key success factors such as: innovation, productivity improvement, investment in people & skills, and funding. After a time of mourning, I finally realized that I needed to fulfill the legacy that my mother had left behind. Instead displaying a sorrowful attitude, I felt like I could use this opportunity as a platform to help others. I wanted to reach out to individuals who were going through the same thing that I had gone through with my mom while she was battling cancer. My mother always believed that every student had the right to a higher education; therefore I wanted to continue her legacy by extending a helping hand towards those students with financial needs. Within the following weeks my family I decided to create what is now known as the Sonya Hernandez Memorial Fund. This fund targets students who have family members who are battling cancer. The goal of the Sonya Hernandez Memorial Fund is to raise money for these students so that they could have a financial head start on a higher education. I am one of the founders of this organization and my main purpose is setting up annual 5k run and walks as a way to raise scholarship money. Throughout the year I sit down with an advising committee composed of a few dedicated individuals who each have the same desire to be a blessing to others. We discuss

The SAS policies answer the question as to why employees behave the way they do. The SAS research report shows that work behavior can be influenced by several factors. The case study in section 2.1 shows what factors influenced production and work performance. One of the highlights in the discourse is how well employees are treated directly affect their performance on the job. Putting employee above all else in business arena give speed to good yield.
