The biggest health risk that i would like to be seen met for me and my family is probably pollution. There are many different types of pollution and each one is caused by different things like smog and improper waste disposal. One thing that will always be true about pollution is that its a problem that humans are causing by Deforestation and exhaust from vehicles and manufacturing. However its not just humans that can cause pollution volcanic eruptions also cause pollution of the air and can even cause forest fires. Pollution damages not only the earth but the creatures who live on it like humans, Polluted air and water can cause diseases to form in people like Asthma and Gastroenteritis. While Asthma and Gastroenteritis are very common and
Air pollution is one cause of people developing Asthma by increasing the particulates in the air we breath such as nitrogen dioxide we increase the chance of developing asthma and other diseases. The types of Pollution that i want to see more done about are Air pollution, Water pollution, Soil pollution, and Personal Pollution.
There are many different types of Air pollution they each have a different effect on the world aand its inhabitants. Carbon dioxide is the main pollutant on earth the reason for that is that is because every thing emits carbon dioxide. Humans produce it when they breath, and cars along with other industrial companys produce it in the form of exhaust when fossil fuels are burned. The amount of fossil fuels burned in these past hundred years are more than any other time. That also means that there is a increase in air pollution bigger than ever before. Carbon dioxide in the enviroment can cause a increase in the earths tempture other wise known as global warming. The reason that global warming is such a big problem is that as the earth becomes hotter so does the ocean and most organisms in the ocean have a very small temputure amout that they can live in. So with the increase of ocean temputure the coral might die
All of these types of water have been polluted bye us. Water pollution is when a chemical is poured into a water source the water may look fine depending on the amount of chemical and the amount of water it was poured into but the chemicals are still there floating in the water. Just because it looks like the water might be cleaned afte pouring oil into it the water has indeed disipated the oil but the chemicals found in that oil are now floating around cause they are harder to get rid of. The chemicals may be hard to get out of the water but that does not mean that it is imposible to get rid of the pollution. Water happens to be one of the only things that can be polluted and yet still be cleaned. Surface Pollution would include a oil tanker out at sea has spilled oil into the sourrounding water contaminating it. Not only is this a problem for the water itself but it also harms the animals that live in it. A year ago more than 100,000 gallons of oil was spilled onto the coast of santa barbara it took many months to finally clean not only the contaminated water but also the land. During this oil spill three Pelicans and a dolphin were found dead on the beach from the oil spill. Its not just Oil that can pollute the water but also many other things such as sewage and plastic. Sewage should be able to break down and disperse however
Water pollution is a good medium of transportation and solvent, therefore, this can enable the pollutant substances and toxic contaminants dissolve in the water bodies. Water pollution is a serious global issue today. This happens because of the deaths and diseases occur as well as animals. This issue strongly is led to the worldwide of destruction. The pollution of water is directly affecting the organisms that survive in the aquatic life, such as fish, amphibians and planktons. In some countries, people die each day because of consumption of the polluted water which contains the toxic that is unsuitable for us to drink.
There are many kinds of air pollution. The ones I want to talk about are the ozone, acid rain, carbon monoxide and toxic air contaminants. Ozone is formed when hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxide react in sunlight. Therefore, ozone is at its peak during hot summer days. Exposure to high levels of ozone can have serious consequences on your health. It can cause respiratory disease, loss of pulmonary elasticity, and premature aging of our lungs. Next, is acid rain, which occurs in the atmosphere in the form of sulfur and nitrogen oxide. These pollutants can have serious damaging affects on aquatic, forest and wildlife ecosystems, as well as deterioration of buildings. Carbon monoxide is another form of pollution. It reduces the blood?s ability to carry oxygen. If a human is exposed to higher levels, it can cause chest pains, angina attacks or even death.
Air pollution is a contamination of the air we breathe. Every day, hundreds of millions of factories continue to burn fossil fuels, natural gases, and coal. In turn, these toxic pollutants cause this epidemic to only increase as the years go on. Emissions from factories are a major culprit of air pollution in this day and age. Burning of fossil fuels, including oil, coal, and natural gases are to blame. (1) Not to mention that burning fossil fuels are the leading cause smog, acid rain, and global warming. Though, we need them to power our homes and vehicles, there are very detrimental repercussions due to these necessities.
Air pollution refers to the concentration of harmful chemicals that have been added to the atmosphere. Such as emission in the environment, usually from heavy traffic, power generated industry and coal smoke. Large amounts of these chemicals may be harmful and can impact public health (Lu et al., 2015).
One of the pollutants companies cause is water pollution. Water pollution is the impurity of water by chemicals, pathogens and other elements that make water undrinkable. Companies such as Industrial plants are producing more than half of the united states water pollution because when their water sources take away all of the industrial wastes from the manufacturing facilities, they often carry the wastes into waterways and streams which then spread the pollutants into a much bigger area and flow into oceans and rivers. ” More than 40 percent of America’s lakes, rivers, and estuaries were too polluted for drinkin...
Air pollution is caused by many things such as car fumes, burning of fossil fuels,
Air pollution according to the Wikipedia << is the introduction of particulates, biological materials, or other harmful materials into the Earth’s atmosphere, possibly causing disease, death to humans, damage to other living organisms such as food crops, or the natural or built environment>>. Therefore, human being should be aware of the facts that the environment and all living creatures are dying. They need to understand the importance of natural items, the nature, etc…
People that live in areas with higher levels of air pollutants have around a 20% higher chance of death from lung cancer than people that live in areas with less pollution (Dosomething.org). Air pollution seems to affect living beings more directly because of our exposure through breathing. Consequently it is not surprising that, respiratory problems like pneumonia, asthma, bronchitis, etc, are so common. The growing amounts
What do you think is the world’s largest cause of preventable deaths? Smoking? Poor diet? Blood pressure? It’s air pollution. (The Independent Co. 2014) Air pollution is such a huge environmental issue that kills many people and it’s often not even noticed. People can be effected by air pollution and not even be aware of it. Air Pollution is caused by biological materials, chemicals, particulates, or other harmful materials going into the earth’s atmosphere.
As Dr. Sunyer Said in his article: "It is believed that much like cystic fibrosis, by living in a more urban environment serious health hazards become more apparent. Studies have shown that in urban areas patients suffer mucus hyper secretion, lower levels of lung function, and more self-diagnosis of chronic bronchitis and emphysema".( Sunyer, 2001).That's mean air pollution is harmful impact on human health and cases many diseases like: Cardiovascular disease, Lung disease and Cancer Which increases the mortality rate. So, Millions have died because of the direct or indirect effects of air pollution. Thant children in areas prone to air pollutants typically suffer from pneumonia and asthma. In addition, air pollution is effect the Atmosphere that main it is one of the indirect effects of global warming with high temperatures all over the world and increase the melting of ice and increase the rate of sea level there will be a disaster is imminent , if not take the necessary actions.
In today’s world, air pollution is very important issue to think because it effects to environment and humans health. Environmentally, baleful air pollutants can compose acid rain. It can also compose dangerous ground level ozone. That would destroy trees, crops, animals, and water. This could be relating to humans health because dangerous chemicals such as vinyl chloride in the air that causes cancer, birth defects, and long term injury to the lungs. Also, breathing with these chemicals can even cause death. Air pollution can occur from both natural and human activities. For example, the industrial age, people used fossil fuels to transport. So they were burning lots of fossil fuels that is a major cause of pollution. While burning fossil fuels, there are dangerous pollutants coming out such as carbon dioxide, oxides of nitrogen, hydrocarbons and particulates. Especially, carbon dioxide is very harmful chemical to effect on environment because it contributes acid rain and change the climate that effects to the environment. The emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere occurs while fossil fuel is burning. If there is lots of carbon dioxide released from fossil fuel then acid rain would occur more. Acid rain contributes to the damage of trees and many other forest soils. In addition, acid rain sculptures that is part of human nation’s cultural heritage. Another environmental effect of carbon dioxide on air pollution is climate change. Over the last 100 years, the earth’s surface temperature has risen, according to the National oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Many scientists trust carbon dioxide pollution is the primary culprit because they have evidence that shows ocean water levels have increase because of carb...
Air pollution is a type of pollution that can severely damage our environment as well as the earth’s atmosphere. Air pollution occurs all the time when the air contains many substances ...
The polluted air we breathe everyday can cause serious health problems to us or even death. The short term effects of breathing polluted air are headaches, nausea, and allergic reactions. Short term effects can also aggravate the medical conditions of individuals with asthma and emphysema. The long term effects, which are more serious and deadly are, lung cancer, chronic respiratory disease, heart disease, and damage to the brain, nerves, liver, and kidneys. Air pollution also has a bad effect on women who are pregnant. Research has shown that women who come in contact with high levels of pollution, are more likely to have a premature or early baby (David Anderson). Now, women who protect themselves more from all the pollution are more likely to have a healthier baby. Another research also shows that air pollution kills about 3.3 million people every year. The study also proves that if we continue to pollute our air the way we 're doing it right now, the yearly deaths will double to 6.6 million people in 2050 (David Anderson). About 6 percent of global deaths each year are caused by air pollution. Scientists also say that air pollution kills more than both HIV and malaria each year, which I find pretty
Have you ever wondered how it would be like 40 or more years from now? Having to walk out of your home with an air mask on, just because it is extremely polluted outside to even be able to breathe? Our environment has been changing so much in the past years, and this continues to be a problem that everyone ignores. Pollution is serious matter and it should be a priority to take action for this cause. Not only for ourselves but for the next and upcoming generations. People ignore the fact that pollution even exist. According to my studies, right now pollution has increased tremendously that our kid’s children have a high chance of dealing with more pollution than what we are dealing with now. The Government should implement new laws to control the amount of pollution companies release by taxing the companies, or encourage American citizens to go green, and use natural solar and energy equipment. Candidates who support these laws will gain greater support during elections.
Every other day a new industries are being set up, new vehicles on roads and trees are being cut to make way for new homes. All of them, indirect way lead to increase in CO2 leads to melting of polar ice caps which increase the sea level and pose danger for the people living near coastal areas. Pollution can have an impact in our health not only affects people with impaired respiratory system such as asthmatics, but very healthy adults and children too. Exposure to pollution for 6 to 7 hours, even at relatively low concentrations, reduces lung function and induces respiratory inflammation and, healthy people during periods of moderate
