Patient, R.A was born in Colombia, (Bogota) on March 30, 1964 she came to Miami, FL 20 year ago, and she lives with her two sons. She was a professional salsa dancer always happy and healthy person traveling around the world, even though in her family history mother and father were Dx with a heart disease many years ago, she has never had any medical problems with her heart. On June 5 ,2005 Pt. R.A was having a dry cough chest pain her sons were worried about it because she had been feeling bad since 3 days ago ,and they wanted to take her to the hospital, but she always replied to them “ as an older person I have more experience about how to cure my flu than you, and I am going to prepare my magic infusion to treat this “flu”, she told her sons when she was a teenager her mother believed that giving her a ginger tea with honey would help to open her lungs airways, and chicken soup with black pepper would help to cure flu symptoms. As a good Hispanic culture uses of herbal tea remedies is a priority, before she seeks medical intervention. On June 9 2005 Patient R.A decided to seek for medical attention, then she went to the hospital complaining about a bad cough and shortness of breath, and she told to the doctor that she had a bad flu, due to Pt’s symptoms and chest X-rays results she was Dx with Asthma. In addition, Pt has not Hx of surgeries, smoking, alcohol abuse or drug use, no known drug allergies or no known food allergies. Even though Pt believes in herbal tea medicines, R.A takes her medication as prescribed any questions or adverse effects contact your doctor as soon as possible.
Vital signs: BP: 90/45, RR: 18, Sop 95%, HR: 73, Temp: 98.6, Weight: 93.8 kg stated, Pain level now: 0/10.

In addition, she is using Xanthine her vital signs are in normal ranges because this medication may cause cardiac stimulation such as increase cardiac output or increase HR. Patient was informed to contact the doctor if Pt was having mentioned symptoms as soon as possible. Pt R.A was educated that Montelukast (singular) will take several days to be effective, so patient must has her inhaler to prevent an asthma attack, also knows that while taking singular do not over dose. To conclude, Pt is aware Guaifenesin (Robitussin) should be taken as needed, if Pt misses a dose do not overdose, drink plenty fluids, and do not drink alcohol with any medication could be fatal, also if you have side effects such as, nausea, vomiting contact your doctor quickly.
