Mary Wollstonecraft Shelly was a novelist, dramatist, and short story writer. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelly is one of the best writers of all time and is best known for her novel Frankenstein.
Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley is an English romantic novelists. She’s had been writing since her childhood from a chaotic life. She has been known to be an amazing novelist, short-story writer, poet, dramatist, and biographer. Today, she is still known for her amazing work. Her childhood really helped with most of her books and novels.
Mary was born August 30, 1797 in London, England. She was the daughter of two well-known authors, Mary Wollstonecraft and William Godwin. Her father a political philosopher and her mother was an early classic feminist. They married when her mom was five months pregnant with her. Eleven days after Mary was born, her mother died from an infection from childbirth. Mary blamed herself throughout her life for her mother’s death. A few years later her dad married Mary Jane Clairmont in 1801. She gained two other siblings and she already had a sister, Fanny Imlay. Slowly her father began to neglect her for her step sisters and brothers. Her father was not affectionate of attentive to her. Mary’s childhood was not happy at all. She often got into huge arguments with her step-mother. At one point of time, her father sent her to live with family friends because of the conflicts with her step-mother.
Next, at 15-years-old, Mary met Percy Bysshe Shelley, one of her father’s writers. He was a romantic author and also well-known. They began seeing each other and the more they saw each other, the more Mary began to fall in love with Percy. Mary’s first book ever published is The Discoveries of John Bull in a Trip to Paris. Which was published in 1808 and this book was based upon her childhood. Her second book was History of a Six Weeks' Tour in 1817. That book was based upon her trip in Switzerland with Percy and her half-sister, Jane. Also the first book she ever wrote. Her most famous and well known books are Frankenstein and The Modern Prometheus in 1818. She published these in her late teens and early twenties.
A lot of Mary’s book come from her childhood. Many people told her that she could become a great author by telling stories from her childhood and how it was. That is what made her become the successful writer she is today. The Last Man is her second most well-known piece of work.
