Jimi Hendricks, an extraordinary guitarist who was born November 27, 1942, in Seattle, Washington. Hendrix was one of the most influential musicians in the music world. He took music places that no one could. Jimi Hendrix was one of the most exciting and creative guitar players ever. He mixed Blues and Rock & Roll together to create some of the utmost unique music ever played. While Hendricks was only famous for four years, the impact he left on the music industry would last a lifetime. Hendricks style was like no other musicians; he had shocking guitar techniques, such as playing with his teeth, behind his back, and without touching the strings, all were talents that surprised his audiences, and contributed to his reputation as an artist. Amazingly, he also played his Fender Stratocaster upside down to accommodate his left-hand.

Hendricks love for playing a guitar started early as a child, growing up he used a broom to show his interest in playing the guitar. It was not long after his father recognized his love for playing and so he went out and bought Hendricks a guitar. After going to see Elvis in concert he was even more motivated, Hendricks career actually started off by touring with Blues, Rhythm and Blues bands in the South long before becoming famous. He also enrolled in the military and struggled to find himself. Due to an injury, that Hendricks sustained while in the military he was medically discharged which allowed him to work on his music career even more. Hendricks met many in the music industry and had the pleasure to work with some of them but more importantly, he was soaring in his own career. ...that same mentor to many others. Hendricks and his quick life to fame led him to make bad decisions by getting into drugs, which cost him his life. However, he was able to do what he had enjoyed doing since he was a young child. Losing him at such a young age was tragic, especially since it was at the prime of his career. One must think how much more this successful young talented guitar player had to offer his fans. In fact one of Hendricks quotes was, “When I die, I want people to just play my music, go wild and freak out, do anything they want to do."– Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix dreams, determination, and his guitar have left a star in the Native American Heritage. The Jimi Hendrix Experience became one of most popular and highest grossing touring acts in the world, and the impact of his brief but impressive music career on popular music continues to live on by many.
