Carter trudged down the hallway, feeling quite lethargic despite the buzz of energy surrounding him. When he got to where, he could see his locker, he smiled a bit. Leaning up against it holding a large coffee was his girlfriend Lily. She always knew what he needed each day, whether it be a warm comforting hug, something for breakfast on the days he forgot it or like today, a nice mug of coffee.
Though they took frequent hiatuses, mostly caused by the jealous accusations of Lily’s best friend Niya. Niya was always pointing out the little flaws in Carter, such as the way he always ate one thing clean off his plate before starting on the next, and made them seem like a crime. Because Lily tended to do whatever Niya said, she would often break up with him, only to get back together with him less than a week later. Speak of the devil, Niya came waltzing down the hallway the opposite way from Carter.
