It’s been my desire, longing for a nursing career since I was in my primary and secondary school. At the age of 12, I began to look after children and baby-sitting then, from there, I gained the understanding of how to deal with children. Nursing is one of the highly demanding careers that bring new challenges every day and it comes with various rewards and a real sense of job satisfaction. Leading You to a Healthy Lifestyle: Nurse Practitioners. I have imagined myself in several different careers that have interested me as I've grown up, from styling hair to being a fashion designer, and even a professional singer. Now, even though it is crazy to believe time has flown by so fast, I am at the age where I am deciding what I want to major in. Even though all of those professions I listed above were very interesting, there was one job when I was growing up that I knew would be a stable and interesting profession: a nurse practitioner. I have always been interested in health sciences and seeing as though I was familiar with a doctor’s office/hospital setting due to being born with a birth defect, I felt that nurse practitioner was the most suitable job for me.
Growing up as a child, I had many struggles. From being raised by an aunt whom I did not always get along with, to not knowing my parents, and hating school, it is easy to say that my childhood was not the best. However, I always knew that I wanted to help people; to make a difference in people's lives. That led me to the decision to become a Registered Nurse, otherwise known as an RN. The procedures completed by Registered Nurses can be lifesaving. Before entering the nursing field, one should examine the salary and benefits of, educational requirements, the job description, as well as character requirements.
Nursing is not my job, this is my career. Gaining advance nursing education is my goal. I don’t even remember when I decided to be a nurse because I used to say I want to be a nurse when one of my teachers asked me in my grade 2. Helping others is something that is a part of who I am. Growing up I used to always love taking care of my grandmother. My grandmother was a sweet person and she always asked for me to take care of her. Taking care of her made me realize that nursing was the right career for me, With all my little cousings, I would always go and get the medicine and bandages and clean up their cut and put the medicine and a bandage on it. It made me feel real good knowing that I had taken care of them. I knew I wanted to be a nurse when I grew up but, I just started hanging around the wrong people at school and got caught up. I came to job corp to get my high school diploma and a trade. I knew that the CAN program was the best program for me. My instructors have been great in teaching me everything I need to do. I care about people and taking care of them and that’s mostly what nursing is all about. My goal is to be nurse. After I become a nurse, I want to work with little children.
Ever since I was a little girl, my motivation to pursue a career in the medical field was evident. While other children my age watched Cartoon Network, I found more value in shows like ‘Trauma: Life in the ER’ and ‘A Baby Story.’ It wasn’t until high school that I decided I would become a nurse, specifically. I cannot say that I had a revelation or a particular experience that swayed my decision. However, ever since I began pursuing the career of nursing, I discover each and every subsequent day that it is what I was put on this earth to do.
A career in the medical field is always evolving, and always needing more hands. I knew from a young age that helping people is what I was meant to do, and from then on out every step I took was the way to a successful career in nursing. It is a profession that allows you to see people at their worst, all while helping them become their best. The most important task for nursing students is to create a clear pathway for our education, and to be sure to follow that plan accordingly. When choosing this career, I had to access my own strengths and weaknesses and really establish clear goals for myself and evaluate if I had what it takes to be a part of this diverse and skilled profession. I also decided not only not only do I need to set professional goals for this career, personal goals are important as well.
Becoming a Professional Nurse remains a mystery up until this day. Consequently, the answer is still unknown. Furthermore, to figure out the answer why I became a professional nurse starting from the beginning is best. Hopefully, an answer will be provided by the completion of this paper.
I have always had a passion for nursing. As a child, I watched my mother getting up early, putting her scrubs on and headed out the door for a 12 hour shift. She was always content, and at ease to go for a long shift and even overtime at times. I love the fact that after work, she would always come home, satisfied with the day no matter how hard it was for her. She would sit and tell my brothers and sisters how she enjoyed the conversations that she had with her patients and what impact she had on their lives that day. Listening to these stories as a child, I knew that I wanted to become a nurse and listening to the same stories and helping people, making their day feel better. I wanted to follow my mom’s footsteps. At the end of a long shift, it is a rewarding profession, knowing that I am saving people’s lives, making them comfortable when they are near of dying, advocate and teaching them. As nurses, we care for patients through illness, injury, aging, health. We also promote health, prevent diseases and teaching the community; that’s what I love about nursing. I believe that this is the right profession for me because I have all the qualities that a nurse should possess when
University of Saint Francis is the right college for me and you won’t be sorry you picked me! Last year I had enrolled in a vocational class called Primary Health Care. In Primary Health Care I gained my CNA license and later got a job at a nursing home. Since then I have found a love in caring for people, nothing gives my heart more joy then being there for someone. Whether it be for daily care or someone just needing to sit and talk. Since then I have decided to further my medical education into becoming an RN.
I have often been asked why I chose the nursing profession from friends and family, especially as I was graduating high school and starting my first year of college at UT Arlington. People who cared told me school was going to be hard, I wouldn’t have a social life, and it would be highly competitive. I even asked myself myriads of times whether this was really what I wanted to do, but every time my answer remained the same, yes. Though this uncertainty of the task ahead scared me, I was dedicated to becoming a nurse, no matter how hard it would be. Since that time two years ago, my answer to that question has progressed and evolved, and taken on a whole new level of dedication behind it.
Therefore, I would like to get the education that helps me pursue my career that involves caring and nurturing. As of now, I want to work harder toward being a better student in nursing that will help me graduate as a qualified and a knowledgeable candidate. After graduation, I want to serve the community by promoting and maintaining health in the society. In order to build the financial independence as well as to implement my knowledge and ideas into practice, I would like to work. Along with that, I would also like to continue my education so that I gain better expertise in providing the best level of care.
I am a licensed practice nurse who is compassionate, competent, and displays empathy for all my patients. My personal and professional experiences help me contribute to clients’ recovery and wellness which gives me a sense of pride that strengthens my commitment to this profession. I enjoy making people feel better and that is what drove me to this profession and is currently driving me to further my career in the nursing field. I am currently pursuing a degree as a registered nurse at Gwinnett Technical College. I believe this degree will help me to furthering my career, which will allow me to expand my passion to care for the sick and ill. What caused me to want to pursue nursing as my major? I chose nursing overall because I love to help people, being there for them and trying to do everything I can for them. Nurses are always in high demand, someone will always need your help, so you will always be able to make a difference in someone’s life. You are able to go to any hospital, they are always in need of a nurse for so many different positions. It 's a very productive field to apply yourself in. I love the challenge of nursing. Registered nurses have a high level of respect in the medical field for quite a few different reasons. Considering nurses help save lives and care for people in their time of need, there exists a pronounced deal of pride nurses have because of what they do. Registered nursing is my dream career, but in order to become one, I must accomplish multiple goals and meet various requirements. A registered nurse, a professional nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and has obtained a nursing license, it is a career I wish to pursue for the assisting of others, interaction with new patients, and the ability to learn new things. I have been wanting to pursue this career for about three years now. The thought of helping others and bringing a positive attitude into someone's life has made me very interested in this career.
