Yellow Rain, What is yellow rain? It is debatable even still today, to try to explain what yellow rain is. You have to go back to the background and history of where it came from. In this, you will hear controversial stories over yellow rain, to make you start thinking. You will also start to ask yourself questions like, what does it consist of? In addition, where did it come from? Conflicting reports to make you think. Is it a real weapon of mass destruction? Alternatively, is it a myth created by a people wanting justice for the unexplained atrocities of wars past? On the other hand, is it a way for political officials to put an international spotlight on their enemy during the time of a secret war. You will hear scientist and medical examiners from all over the world argue and try to determine whether it is a natural occurrence, or a new developed chemical weapon produced by man. Yellow rain is a Chemical Weapon reportedly to said be used as early as the 1970’s in Laos. This is a period in time, when the Laotian civil war was ongoing, with the Vietnam War. The Northern Vietnamese and Soviet Communist powers backed the Pathet Lao, an insurgent army in Laos. During this time, the United States CIA had already started recruiting Hmong people to help fight against the North Vietnamese Army. In the spring of 1973-1974, the Pathet Laos began to gain tremendous power and foothold into Laos. In 1973 with the Paris peace accord emplaced. The North Vietnamese was able to maintain their forces in Laos, as the United States forces were completely pulling out of the Vietnam War. In April of 1975, with no support from other countries, the Southern Vietnam Army had fallen completely at the hands of Northern Vietnamese during the fall of Saig...

On April 12, 1961, the first application of the chemical nicknamed Agent Orange was sprayed on Vietnamese foliage in an attempt to stop guerilla warfare, launching a herbicidal disaster ("Herbicidal Warfare"). The consequences of agent orange, unbeknownst to the former government officials, led to a series of catastrophic effects including, but not limited to neurobehavioral and physical anomalies of the human body. As a result of the lacking knowledge of Agent Orange, the United States and Vietnam are still cleaning up the herbicidal mess that could have been avoided (Magnuson). Decades later, scientific evidence proved that the use of the dioxin herbicide Agent Orange was linked to many physical and neurobehavior disorders (Poremba).

Almost thirty years after the last troops were pulled out of what was then South Vietnam, its effects are still felt in today’s society. It is hard not to find someone who’s life has not been affected because of this war. One of the most controversial decisions made in the war was to use chemicals to fight the enemy. The most boradly used chemiucal was called Agent Orange. Some people agreed with the use of Agent Orange. They saw it as a very viable weapon that needed to be used in order to keep the Communist from taking control of South Vietnam and subverting their democratic government. Many others disapproved of its use. They knew, correctly, that it would severely devastate the landscape of Vietnam and would forever ruin the land for agricultural use. They also knew of the harmful effect it would have once adults and children came in contact with the harmful chemicals that form the chemical make up of Agent Orange. Once the first bombs carrying Agent Orange were dropped there was no going back. For some people the use of Agent Orange changed their whole opinion of the war and what we were really fighting for. Pictures showing burns and disfigurement were soon to hit the presses. Once the American public could see exactly what was happening and how the civilian life was being treated impacted many people so much that they could no longer support what the United States was doing over in Vietnam. The goal of this paper is to show how the use of Agent Orange changed many people’s perspective of the war in Vietnam.
The purpose of this essay is to deal with the fact that chemical warfare should be brought back to modern warfare strategies. As Warren Rudman said, “And they will tell you unequivocally that if we have a chemical or biological attack or a nuclear attack anywhere in this country, they are unprepared to deal with it today, and that is of high urgency.” Rudman’s words are true in what they say and that we should do everything to counter-act his statement. Biological weapons are a key to outstanding success in war and therefore, I strongly suggest that chemical warfare is an effective and producible weapon tactic that can be used on today’s battlefield.

The constant shifting of tectonic plates can lead a future of rough, uneven or desturbed terrain. Often times when plates collide mountain ranges or volcanoes are formed but the relationship and distance between continents can also change. In the book “April Raintree” by Beatrice Culleton, the constant shifts in April’s life cause a permanent confusion as to who she is and how she identifies herself later on in life. This confusion results in many struggles due to her erratic shifts in Relationships, lifestyles, and emotions.

The Disease Yellow Fever Throughout history, many different diseases have infected the world. Such diseases consist of measles, mumps, malaria, typhus and yellow fever. Many of these diseases are caused by different things and originated in different countries. Yellow fever is a deadly disease caused by a viral infection that is transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. Although it is found to be most common in males in their early 20's, yellow fever can affect any sex, race, or age.
Cambodia has come a long way from its days under French rule and the disastrous rule of the Khmer Rouge. With 14.9 million people living a relativity peaceful and prosperous life, Cambodia still has a long ways to go to join the ranks of world powers. Education has flourished in Cambodia with most its population attending school and have gone on to even higher education. The main goal is to make sure all of its population is literate so they can be active in life. The government is taking an active role to provide the best for its people whether through reform whether through education or elections. It makes sure to never repeat it’s dark past and always have a bright future.
Thesis: Biological Warfare is morally and inhumanely wrong, It is the wrongful killing of men, women, and children. It should be stopped no matter what the circumstances are.
