If I were to ask you to think of a name that best defines the role of funniest and most ridiculous person in Hollywood, I would bet that several of you would come up with the name Will Ferrell. This shouldn't come as a surprise to any of you as Ferrell has filled hilarious roles in recent years such as Buddy the elf, Ricky Bobby the racecar driver, Ron Burgandy the anchorman, Chaz Michael Michaels the figure skater, and many others. Ferrell has become a modern comical titan as he blew away Saturday Night Live with some of the best ratings in history and has developed into one of Hollywood's funniest and highest paid comical actors. With the way that he can pull off dumb humor and make people fall out of their chairs laughing time and time again, it seems that Ferrell was destined to be a comic from the start, but it wasn't always that way. Although he is now regarded as one of the funniest and highest paid comical actors in Hollywood, Ferrell's comic acting career probably spawned from a childhood hunger that for a long time, even Ferrell himself was unaware of.
He was born John William Ferrell on July 16, 1967 in Irvine, California. Despite his parents' divorce in 1975, Ferrell's natural intelligence and strong work ethic made him a top student in school. In high school he wasn't a member of the drama team or anything of the sort. In fact, he was a big guy that his school recognized as being one of their top football and baseball players. In football he played offense, defense, and even ended up kicking for the team.
Like any high school jock, Ferrell loved attention. He wanted to try and be as popular as he could, and he quickly achieved that goal by not only becoming a star athlete but also a class clown. When questioned in an interview about whether or not he was always funny, Ferrell gave the perfect comical reply saying, “No not always... only about 74% of the time.” It was clear that he had a natural talent to make people laugh, but he didn't really pursue it until much later. He knew that he could make people laugh, and he loved the popularity that it gained him. His principle even started having him read the daily announcements because if it was Will behind the microphone reciting them with a comical twist, then people would actually pay attention.
Sandler has used his clout not only to gain greater control over his own films, but also to boost the careers of former "Saturday Night Live" friends such as Rob Schneider, David Spade and Dana Carvey by guiding their pet projects through the studio system.

His father was a Ford Motor Company executive and his mother was a fashion model. Because his parents both had successful careers and were often absent the maid of the family raised Williams. In fact, he says he began in comedy through his attempts to connect with his mother I'll make mommy laugh, and that'll be okay.' He was marked by the experience, being left with an acute fear of abandonment and a condition he describes as Love Me Syndrome'"(Wills 1). The family moved frequently because of his father's job. Moving constantly never gave Williams a chance to establish friendships. He was a larger child and often made fun of. Williams developed his quick humor as a way to defend himself from taunts and teases. Finally, Williams' father retired and the family settled down in Marion County, CA. Humor is just making another person happier with themselves or the situation they are in. The same way as negativity can bring someone down, humor has the opposite effect, it is positive and makes people feel better about themselves. So many comedians do bits making light of any kind of situation they will or already have encountered or experienced. Doing a comedy skit, or going to a comedy club, or just being around someone who is humorous is all part of humor and what is all of its components.
