Have you ever heard of the phrase, “ don't do things to others that you wouldn't want upon yourself”? That is exact attitude that should go towards animals when we test on them. We put animals in laboratories and perform tests on them that we would never dream of, or even allow doing on humans. Animal testing should be made illegal for our safety and to spare animals the pain that animal testing brings. Animal testing is bad science, dangerous to both humans and animals, and immoral.
Animal testing is bad science. According to the food and drug administration ,ninety two percent of drugs that are passed due to animal testing fail humans. And the eight percent that are passed are taken off the market soon after the drug is shown to have harmful effects on humans. The results of animal studies are also typically misleading. Most human diseases don't occur in animals, so they are simulated without things like environment and lifestyle taken into account. In addition, scientists have also built humane, modern, and effective non animal research methods. For example, using specialized computer programs , combined with human cells and tissues deliver exact results as opposed to animal testing(Gericke). We also have made many advances in medicine without animal testing. For example, the cure for Scurvy was discovered without animal testing and Penicillin was also discovered without animal testing. These facts have overshadowed the claim that animals serve as good models of the human body .
Animal testing is also dangerous. Animals and humans can react differently or indifferently to chemicals, because humans are different from animals in anatomy, phycology, and metabolism. One study conducted by the pharmace...

Without animal research, cures for such diseases as typhoid, diphtheria, and polio might never have existed. Without animal research, the development of antibiotics and insulin would have been delayed. Without animal research, many human beings would now be dead. However, because of animal testing, 200,000 dogs, 50,000 cats, 60,000 primates, 1.5 million hamsters, and uncounted millions of rats and mice are experimented upon and die each year, as living fodder for the great human scientific machine. Some would say that animal research is an integral part of progress; unfortunately, this is often true. On the whole, animal testing is a necessary evil that should be reduced and eliminated whenever possible.
Testing animals is used to develop medical treatments, determine the toxicity of medicinal drugs, check the safety of products intended for human use, and other biomedical, commercial, and healthcare roles. The earliest recordings of animal studies date back to Aristotle, who discovered the anatomical differences among animals by analyzing them (Introduction). Advocates of animal testing say that it has enabled the growth of numerous medical advancements, tests to see if new products are save for mankind, acquisition of new scientific knowledge, and because it is accurate (B). Opponents of animal testing say that it is cruel and inhumane to try out on animals, many animals die from the animal testing, it’s unethical, animals don’t have a say in it, the accuracy is in question because they are testing animals and not humans, and the toll of animal testing is high (B). Through the pros and cons of everything, it is bad to test animals because animals are very different from human beings and thus make poor test subjects and are unreliable, the cost and upkeep of it is expensive, and because there are alternatives to animal testi...
Writing this paper did not affect my original line of thinking in regards to the topic. I support animal rights in every way, and am extremely against any sort of testing. Observing the “necessities” of animal testing did not, in any way, alter my negative view of animal experimentation.

The optimistic viewpoints for animal testing are that it assists researchers in finding drugs and treatments to advance health and medicine. It is a legal requirement in most countries for drugs and vaccines to be tested in animals to ensure safety. The world would be a different place if animal research for medical purposes were done away with hundreds of years ago. Today many medical treatments have been made possible by animal testing, including cancer and HIV drugs, insulin, antibiotics, vaccines, etc. Animal testing and research is considered very important for improving human health; in fact, the scientific community and some of the general public support animal research. There are also groups of individuals who are against animal testing for cosmetics but they defend animal testing for medicine and the development of new drugs for disease.
Animal testing should be banned for unnecessary tests because why would the government want to put human through the same thing that the animals go through. Animals should not be guinea pigs to the horrible tests that the scientists run on them. The animals should be able to be free and not have to be strapped down and forced-fed. Animals feel the pain just as well as a human would, but a human can walk away from the pain and say “no”. Sometimes it is better to run tests on animals to find a cure for cancer, HIV, and other diseases but the government and the scientists should find a different way to do this with out killing so many animals.
During years, animals have been scientifically used to experiment with the purpose of testing medicines, to develop new cures and to support the scientific advancements. Animal testing is needed to preserve human life. Is why experimentation for medical purposes should be carried out, instead of scientists performing dangerous test in humans.
important that the public is educated and informed about animal experimentation. Many people are not aware of all the negative aspects that animal testing actually has. As mentioned above, it is urgent to educate the public about issues such as animal testing. Therefore, this paper will allow the readers to understand why animal testing should not be encouraged in research laboratories. Furthermore, the readers will obtain possible solutions to help animals avoid being harmed in the labs. This paper will argue that the results achieved through animal experimentation may not always be reliable, that the cost of animal experimentation is very high, and that there are possible alternatives to animal testing that are available. There are many opinions and people who dissent on whether animal testing should be continued or if it is a crime to the world. It may be one’s consent another to see that it is extremely wrong. Animal testing is an exemplification of how humanity has come to using innocent defenseless animals to satisfy for its own selfish desires. When animal testing became a popular way to test products in the, 1900s it was genuinely believed that animals could not feel pain or emotions and that they were robots. People back then tested on animals for many different reasons such as research, theories, medicines, products and many more although, research on living animals has been practiced since at least 500 BC. Animal testing is wrong because animal tested
First of all, animal testing should be banned in order to protect the rights of animals. In other words, animals’ rights are infringed by experimenting on them. Animals and humans are similar in many ways. To begin with, they have similar levels of biological complexity. They both are aware that they exist and they both make conscious choices. Philosophy professor at North Carolina State University Tom Regan points out "Animals have a basic moral right to respectful treatment. This inherent value is not respected when animals are reduced to being mere tools in a scientific experiment." (F. B. Orlans) Experimentation on an animal ...
