A friendship is something that everyone wants and desires but what few fail to realize is that there are so many different types of friendships and although they all may be great ones, there’s one that is essential to the soul. Before one can have an ideal friendship, we should have a clear understanding of what a friendship is. As stated in out notes in class, a friendship is a state of mutual affection to one another. That basically means the two of you share similar ideas and or passions that leads into constant surroundings of each other witch then leads to a connection or friendship. The life cycle of making a friend has three key components in the formation of making a friend. The first is proximity, which means being close enough to a person to either keep in touch or just to engage in certain activities together. Next is keeping in touch with the person over and over. Not so much that your making plans with the person but just informing them on daily encounters of life situations whether they are good or bad. Last but definitely not least we have the stage of opportunities which is the phase where you make plans to hang out share feelings and be there for one another. A friendship is a necessity; it's where we keep each other in check. That is also considered to be the "Good Friendship". Nobody wants to live without friends because were social beings. A friendship is essential in order to be self-sufficient which means that all of the needs of a friendship are met. According to Aristotle "Even the person who has everything still needs friends." Friendships can be good for a lot of things. If you’re needing help with a current situation or issue, a friend is there to help you and be there for guidance. There are three ty... ... middle of paper ... ...he repayment of a debt. No fixed law can be laid down therefore it cannot be said that one obligation at all times and in all circumstances over-rides all others.” Throughout the topics of friendship I learned that a lot of my relationships I consider to be friendships are not all rare. That basically means that over time I will definitely lose a lot of friends in my life. After having a more concise understanding of the different types of friendship, I now kind of agree with Aristotle about the rare type of friendship being the friendship based on virtue. If a person isn't virtuous how can they possibly be of any virtue to me. We need to both be on mutual grounds and want the best for each other so that way throughout the occasional fights and arguments that we may go through, as virtuous friends, we can still be there for each other through the good and bad times.
A friendship is a bond shared with another person, typically of common interests. A friend is honest, loyal, faithful, and trustworthy. It's someone you can share secrets, memories, fears, and dreams with. They stand by you despite arguments or disputes that might arise. Friendships can bring joy, as well as pain; friends want the best for each other, and sometimes sacrifices must be made. In Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck speaks of the advantages and pitfalls to a friendship.
Friendship could be named one of the most important things on Earth. Taking just a couple seconds you could probably name significant things in your life. Some of the biggest discovery’s or inventions have come from a couple of people having ideas and combining them and becoming friends to create said invention or discovery. One huge historic friendship that sticks out to me is Lewis and Clark. Another genre of friendships could be a fictional friendship from a book, for example Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. Then a friendship in modern life would be Chance The Rapper and Donald Glover. The reasons for friendship are to enjoy yourself, and tell them anything. Like venting and getting things off your
I would define friendship as complete trust and love between two people. Many people believe that this kind of behavior is reciprocated between two individuals without any expectations. A friend is someone who also provides you with support and whom you can rely on to celebrate special moments with. A friend also comes with many great attributes; such as loyalty, honesty, compassion, trust, and morality. Today’s friend is viewed as someone who shares happiness, common values, history, and equality with another. For example, Aristotle and Cicero both wrote dialogues about friendship and its significance on mankind. Therefore, the key issues that will be discussed are: their views on the similarities of friendship, the differences between friends,
Philosophers have discuss and debate about friendship and the true meaning to be a friend to others Aristotle have given requirements as well as qualities a friend possession within different types of friendships. Human beings are designed to be social, it’s our nature. Starting at a young age we develop friendships. According to Webster dictionary, a friendship is, “The state of being friends; friendly relation, or attachment, to a person, or between persons.” Aristotle does into depth about why friendship is vital to human thriving, the true definition of friendship, as well as the different types of friendships that exist.
When making friends, you must choose the right ones by observing the person's qualities and how they behave. If the person behaves in a bad way, further away this person may lead you down the wrong path and get you into a lot of trouble. Incommensurate, If the person behaves in a good way, then they may be a good friend to have and lead you down the right path. Friendship is something that is an important part of life. It allows people to share good times and help get through the tough struggles of life. In the eighth book of the Nicomachean Ethics Aristotle describes that there are three different types of friendship. The first kind of friendship is based on how useful each person is to the other. The second is a friendship based pleasure, where both people enjoy the others jokes or other qualities that brings joy to the other. The third is friendship based on goodness where both people strive for the goodness and help each other become better people.
Friendship is the relationship that helps humans get through everyday life. Without friends people would not have a strong support system or someone to have their backs through difficult situations. Friendship has been seen to be a key component in the development of characters. Directors and authors portray friends as positive influences on characters. Friends are especially important in The Hobbit and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Bilbo Baggins and Sherlock Holmes experience the benefits of a strong friendships. Through the friendships experienced by both Bilbo and Sherlock new characteristics arise such as the development of emotions and courage.
My personal definition of "friendship" is a feeling or emotion expressed in such a way that another feels wanted and important, a relationship between a person or persons where everyone has some companion to talk to when their in need of one. I would define friends as people whom you can have several types of relations with and feel several emotions for that person. Someone that one might go to in time of need. However, friendships differ between people. For example, the friendship that someone may have between them and their parents would be different than the friendship they might have with someone their age. There are many different friendships that people have. Friendships can exist between best friends, friends, lovers, children, parents, siblings, and many more. All of these differ in some way.
Friendships are one of the most important things you can get out of life. It’s something that everyone has to have because without it we would all go insane. Just think if no one talked to each other and we never made friends, this world would be a ticking time bomb. Studies say human need friendships and love to survive. So friendship is a big part of your life.
When defining friendship it can be explained in numerous of ways. It is most commonly described as the quality or state of being friendly; but, truthfully friendship it far more complex than just a simple expression to one another. It is a relationship that is formed over time that takes much commitment and a leveled compromise with one another to proceed the connection. A friendship can begin from something as common as a mutual interest and form into something life lasting. In order to begin and maintain this correspondence, there will be an urgence for similar interest, honesty, and making time and showing appreciation for one another.
Friendships are so important. They have always been important; but it seems to be the most important in my opinion. We see how friendships play important roles throughout our life span. Friendships are defined and formed in each stage of life from infancy. These include early childhood, middle childhood, adolescence, early adulthood, middle adulthood and late adulthood. Friendships grow from one stage to another. During this time friends become closer. Relationships start out as acquaintances and may stay like that for a period of time. An acquaintance is someone you know in passing. You may interact with this individual on occasion or on a regular basis. They are not your actual friend. They don’t fit in within the normal category of a friendship or relationship; just an acquaintance.
Friendship is an interpersonal relationship between two people that is mutually productive and can be characterized by mutual positive regard. Friendship should enhance the potential of each person involved and should only be productive. You must like each other in order to call it a friendship, and
There are many valuable things in life like family, sports, school but what about friendship? To live life without friendship is something no one should ever go through. Friendship is a necessity to living a successful life. Friendship occurs when someone is a supporter, gives assistance, and is attached to someone all the while genuinely taking care of them when they are hurt (The definition of friend, 1995-2002). A good and healthy friendship can be defined fro individuals as when someone has his or her own support system, a friend being loyal, and will always have genuine and mutual trust.
Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us. Friends can tell harsh truths when they must be told. There are four different types of friends: True friends, Convenient friends, Special interest friends, and historical friends. To have friendship is to have comfort. In times of crisis and depression, a friend is there to calm us and to help lift up our spirits.
