Recommended: Discuss critically the rise to power of adolf hitler

The year was 1945, Hitler was dead, and the word was trying to pick up the pieces from the destruction of World War II (WWII) which was the worst war known to man causing the death of 60 million or more humans. The paper around the world had headlines such as “The Worst is Behind Us” or “Never Again”. The leaders of world nations were bamboozled by what had happened in the past 10 years, they never believed they would have witnessed such a scary reality of what was WWII. These leaders as well as the rest of the world were glad to see that the Axis force that consisted of Germany, Japan, and Italy was stopped along with their diabolical leaders. To prevent a disaster like this of ever happening again leaders of countries from around the world decided to form the United Nations, which swore to protect humans and all living things alike from man made weapons that have caused so much chaos. At the first United Nations meeting held on January 10th, 1946 the leaders decided that atomic energy should only be used for peaceful, productive purposes and that all weapons of mass destruction or explosives shall be destroyed or locked away forever. The precautions that the United Nations took to promote peace were successful, wars had stopped and nations learned to talk out their differences instead of harming another. This time became known as the “Era of Peace and Enlightenment”. These were the best of times people showed love for all humanity no matter their religious beliefs, race, ethnicity, or gender; finally we were accepted for who we are. On June 6th, 1966 nearly twenty years from the end of WWII in a small town of Delphi, Indiana a boy was born by the name of Jay Morris. He was born the first child to German immigrant parents that h... ... middle of paper ... ...ether and by this time they realized they needed to access their weapons which were located in Nazi ruled Europe… Many ideas circled around on how to stop them but, none were possible. Their utopia has fallen and they would not allow it to become a dystopia for all who still were breathing. They had been informed that the men Hitler was marching across the planet could not die. So, a drastic plan was hatched they got their top scientists together to build many mass destruction bombs. On May 4th 1985, the President of the United States spoke to the world, “We have failed you people of earth, they will take over the planet, but if there is no planet to rule they will not be able to rule.” As soon as he went off the air eight nuclear bombs were dropped from bombers on to different locations of earth blowing it up into millions of pieces ending all life as we know it.

And Brigitte Eicke, a teenager in Germany during the war, shows how exactly it effected in life on a day to day basis and how much she was influenced by the Nazis. During World War II death lingered in the air and the world was going through hard times, a country had been brainwashed to believe lies and the world had not seen anything the true horrors of war yet. People were witnessing the Holocaust, persecution, racism on a global scale and nothing was being done to stop it. Because of things like The Book Thief, these ideas are being presented in a such a way that they shouldn 't be real. People all over the world try on a daily basis to get rid of things like genocide or persecution, but the only way to stop it is to educate the rest of the world that isn 't putting any effort into the cause. The world needs to change to start believing in a peaceful world and that will only happen if everyone takes a part in making the world a better place. I believe that the world has the potential to be a great place, but things like World War II and the Holocaust have proven me wrong. I think if we were ever going to live in a perfect world, we all have to start working together for peace. For world with no violence, a world with no crime, a place ridden of everything
