My mom is an employee at Marvel Comic’s headquarters in New York City. Marvel Comics is owned by the Walt Disney Company and this inspired me to analyze the corporate giant. It safely can be said that every kid has seen some sort of production by Disney. Countless kids grew up with Disney characters being one of their initial impressions of the world. And that makes Disney a very special and important company. Not only does Disney provide intangible services, but it offers an escape from reality in various locations across the globe. At these places cartoon characters become reality and kids enter a magical world, so to speak. Disney in addition offers vacations on cruise ships that have activities orientated around Disney and all of its characters and stories.

October 16, 1923 is considered the starting date for The Walt Disney Company. On this day Walt Disney signed a formal contract allowing him to produce a series of Alice comedies. The first entity was known as The Disney Brothers Studio. The comedic cartoon was unlike those of today because it was black and white, very choppy, and silent. This era was not just the beginning of the Walt Disney Company but also the beginning of televisions.

The founders and the backbone of The Walt Disney Company is the Disney brothers, Roy and Walt. The imagination within Walt is an asset that is priceless. Walt passed away in 1966 but he lives on through his characters today. Roy Disney, Walt’s older brother, was also a founder of the Walt Disney Company. As Walt was responsible for the content, Roy was the businessman. Walt and Roy grew up in the Chicago area. Walt attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and Roy joined the military.
