Russians have always shown a great concern for education. The right to
education is stated in the constitution of the Russia Federation. It’s
ensured by compulsory secondary schools, vocational schools and higher
education establishment. It is also ensured by the development of
extramural and evening courses and the system of state scholarship and
grants.
Education in Russia is compulsory up to the 9th form inclusive. The
stages of compulsory schooling in Russia are: primary education for
ages 6-7 to 9-10 inclusive; and senior school for ages 10-11 to 12-13
inclusive, and senior school for ages 13-14 to 14-15 inclusive. If a
pupil of secondary school wishes to go on in higher education, he or
she must stay at school for two more years. Primary and secondary

training in a technical field, or a profession.

I volunteered at the Activity Center for my Service Learning project. My duties were to watch the kids who participated in the after school program, play with them and help them with their home homework. I really enjoyed interacting with the African-American people and culture. I learned many things from the African-American population I worked with. I learned how the Activity Center staff teaches the after school kids good manners and behavior. I mentioned in one of my service learning journals that the staff was very strict and treated the kids like prisoners, but I came to the realization that maybe that is how they teach the kids discipline. I had the opportunity to be around all the Activity Center kids and interact with them. They were kids just like any other kids. Of course they are kids and sometimes they did misbehave but overall they were really great kids. I noticed that most of the boys want to be more independent of them, but they were such sweet kids.

The textbook Human Diversity in Education defines exceptional students as “those eligible for special educational services” (Cushner, McClelland & Safford, 2011). There are several categories for exceptional student but they all fall under the Ability/Disability continuum. Some of the categories for exceptional students are the: intellectually gifted, specific learning disability, emotionally handicapped, hearing impaired, visually impaired, mentally handicapped, and physically handicapped. How did a departmental faculty generated 12,000 hours of student community service in one semester? The following is a qualitative analysis of conversations with faculty members in a department that recently instituted a service learning requirement for all student majors. The campus is a large urban comprehensive university with a multi-ethnic student body. Approximately fifteen faculty members were interviewed for this study. While most of those interviewed included service learning components in their courses, interviews with faculty members who resisted or refused to incorporate service learning were conducted as well in order to understand varying faculty attitudes towards service learning.

To volunteer means too, “freely offer to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task”. Anybody with spare time should offer their time to a business needing help. A citizen can offer their volunteer services at an animal shelter, a library, a habitat for humanity, a national park, or many others. The project that i participated in allowed me to help the community as well as gain knowledge for the degree i am pursuing, all while letting me learn about the government's relationship to the activity i participated in. During my service learning, i was able to see how many student learning outcomes were used in the zoo world.
The education system has been a controversial issue among educators. Requirements of school do not let student choose what they want to study for their future. It’s a big issue to force student study specific curriculums, which don’t help them improve, and what they like to create something. Educators choose a general system for education to all students which based on general knowledge. Intelligent or genius students have to be in that system of education, which doesn’t let them improve their creativity. Educators attempt to change that system to make it better, but their changing was not that great to be an example for the world. Also, did that change qualify education system to compete other systems or not? In some examples and reasons have been made me agree with some of points from Gatto’s and Edmunson’s and disagree them.

The postwar governments of Finland and South Korea understood this and made it a goal to focus their population’s attention onto education in order to improve the standards of living. The amount of dedicated teachers and parents that got involved in their students’ educational life increased remarkably. Federal and local governments got involved and made it possible for every child to attend a public school as close to home as possible. Improvements in both countries’ educational systems arose in every family’s household. A strong educational system requires value, availability to all, and specific goals set by the curriculum.
