THE CRADLE
My book is called The Cradle by Arthur C. Clarke. The setting of this book takes place in sunny West Keys in Florida. The main characters in this book are Carol Dawson who is a Miami photojournalist. She takes pictures and writes stories about the pictures and sells them to the local news and newspaper. Nick Williams is a woman-hating Ivy League drop out who captains a boat for his own scuba diving company. Troy Jefferson is Nick’s trusty crewman who aids Nick in the epic story. This also is Non-Fiction.
To begin the book Carol travels to the West Keys to cover a whale beaching. She meets Nick and Troy who take her out further into the sea to cover the whale beaching. Carol and Nick decide to dive where some dolphins are swimming. Everything goes good until they stumble upon a golden trident. Little did they know what it was and what power it possessed and what trouble came with it? They have several encounters with mobsters who thought it was a buried treasure, and the Navy who recently lost a new test missile around the area Nick and Carol found the golden trident. Nick, Carol, and Troy return to the spot where they found the golden troublemaker too look for any other secrets. Unfortunately they are caught in space ship which has settled there. Confused, Nick and Carol wonder around the unknown in search of answers. They found more than they bargained for. They found the secrets of the world, but worse of all; they found the fate of man kind and everything around it.
After several cliffhangers Nick and Carol meet the actual aliens themselves. After showing them what is going to happen to world in a few years Nick and Carol ask them to keep the trident. The aliens wager a deal with them. Nick and Carol full fill the deal but the aliens don’t full theirs. The disappointed Nick and Carol hide the trident in a spot on the space ship, hoping that the aliens won’t find it. Nick and Carol are successful in their attempts to save man kind, and the world lives as it would today.
The good points about the book were that it always left you hanging. At the end of every page it left you wondering about what will happen on the next page. It had a very good story if you like the kind of story it is.
I found the book to be easy, exciting reading because the story line was very realistic and easily relatable. This book flowed for me to a point when, at times, it was difficult to put down. Several scenes pleasantly caught me off guard and some were extremely hilarious, namely, the visit to Martha Oldcrow. I found myself really fond of the char...
Fans of the novel found that the way the novel is written, you never want to put it down and the action keeps things moving and is quite entertaining. The novel pulls you in and makes you love each of the main characters in it. This is a great series for anyone to read, and it is audience friendly for whoever reads them. There is quite a bit of suspense that will make the novel exceed readers 's expectations, and the twists and turns keeps you guessing and lets nothing be predictable. Some like the way this group of people bands together when they really need to and keep things together so they can all stop the
There are several things that I like about this book. First off, I love historical fiction, and this is the genre of this book. Also, despite the author being too descriptive, the book went at a steady pace. For me, pace usually determines whether I will read the book or not, and I never really hesitated, or thought about changing books.
I would recommend this book to a friend because this book is a great book all around. This book has good suspense even though it might seem like a kids book.
Over this entire novel, it is a good novel for children. It train children how to think logically, and notes people we should cherish our family, and people around us, very educate. Children can learn true is always been hide.
In my eyes I loved the book I rate it a 9/10, its had a good twist and turn to it. I loved this
I would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys historical fiction books where the characters learn life-altering lessons. I also feel that people of all ages would enjoy this book because it’s messages and theme was very positive. While I did enjoy this book, I think I will not be reading another historical fiction novel for my upcoming book response.
I have a few dislikes about the book. My first dislike about the book is that it was full of vulgar language. I did not like the use of vulgar language in this book. I see no need in having it. Another dislike about the book is that it did not have any pictures. Pictures help people visualize what is happening in a story better.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel because it connected the dots on how the Narnia series started. I would definitely choose another book by this author because he makes fictional stories that you cans apply to biblical aspects. I liked the fact that the story connected with the others in the series. I did not like how some spots in the plot were dry and not pertaining to the story. I would recommend this novel to anyone who is a fan of the Narnia series.
What I did not like about this book was all of the wasted space and time. The book itself had a really good story but could have been told much better. I found that after the problem was stated at the start of the book it all just turned into Terry going after the same useless leads over and over again. The author could have left all of that out of the book and it would have been much more exciting instead of getting the feeling of dragging on until near the end when it picks up again.
The book and the movie were both very good. The book took time to explain things like setting, people’s emotions, people’s traits, and important background information. There was no time for these explanations the movie. The book, however, had parts in the beginning where some readers could become flustered.
I really liked this book because of the stories it had in it, that really helped me understand how bad these times really were, and how the treatment was horrible. I read a lot of how strict they were which was a part of my essay.
I really enjoied this book. Fantasy and adventure are my favorite genres to read and this book did not let up. The only problem I had with this book was the author’s writing style. Green often jumped from past and present on a whim, making it hard to track what in going on at which part of Nathan’s life. She also changes perspectives a lot from first person to second person a lot. These two constant changes makes the story confusing. I spent a bit too much time trying to figure everything out instead of enjoying the story
My overall opinion of this book is good I really liked it and recommend it to anyone. It is a good book to read and it keep you interested throughout the whole book.
I enjoyed the book because the scenarios are very well described so the reader can clearly imagine the events in their mind.
