Is life really about the 'money', the 'cash', who has the biggest gold chain or who drives the shiniest or fastest car, who sells the most albums or who has the most respect? Today happiness is viewed in many different ways. Everyone defines happiness according to their personal perpectives. Each individual describes their inner feelings in a way that you can't compare with another. Happiness originally and logically means the inner state of well being or a pleasurable or satisfying experience. It enables you to profit from your highest: thoughts, wisdom, intelligence, common sense, emotions, health, and spiritual values in your life. What makes you happy and what makes me happy are different things. Whatever it is that gives you warm fuzzes is determined by you, and only you. This difference is what makes the world interesting.

Most of the happiness that we experience comes from the feeling of love. So many people look to their love relationships, especially marriage to give them the happiness that they cannot find on their own. Love is not enough to provide happiness, then there must be many frustrated lovers in the world. The belief that love gurantess happiness is left over from the ideology of romantic love that tells us we will live happily ever after if we can only find the right person with whom to spend our life with. If we realize that love by itself will not bring happiness, then hopefully we will be more tolerant of the imperfections of those we love. If our relatioships have their problems and if those we love do not always meet our expectations it doesn't mean that we have lost our chance for happiness. When we do not expect love to give us the happiness we seen, there will be more room for forgiveness of the imperfections and problems that always accompany love.

What makes us happy is so varied. To be happy is a fleeting thing, which we enjoy so much and often want it back as soon as possible .The things that make me happy in my life can seem boring to others. My happiness is my health,my success and my marriage. My happiness is to have a shoulder to lean on when my days are going bad. Marriage has helped me look forward for my future. It opened my heart and my mind to the true existing world. It's not like I wasn't happy before I got married.

Essay about Influences on Happiness - ... Many people feel happy getting plastic surgery on their bodies. Sometimes they do it to show off that they have the money to afford those upscale effects. Citizens can do the most bazaar things trying to fit in, for example; a guy takes steroids to get buff and fit in with the football team. Fitting in does not always make one popular, or happier. It is important to realize, society’s pressure makes people feel unfulfilled, and for example many teens get pressured about their look, style, or weight....   [tags: Acceptance, Vlaue, Abraham Lincoln, America]

When you are assured, your ambience goes one thing like this:"It's nice to fulfill you, and we'll see if i need to continue defrayment time with you."Cool, calm, collected, and doubtless pretty intriguing. But once you have that underlying feeling of wanting to notice a relationship, your entire ambience changes. It feels a lot of like this: "Do you wish me?" Energetically, it isn't engaging. Essay on Striving for Authentic Happiness - Globalization and the development of technology have provided people with more opportunities to do whatever they want. Because of the choices, people seem to be happier to make their own choices. However, Martin E.P. Seligman, the author of Authentic Happiness, would argue that they are not happy because that kind of happiness does not last long. In his book, Seligman explains that there are two kinds of happiness, pleasure and gratification. He says, “[t]he pleasures are delights that have clear sensory and strong emotional components, what philosophers call “raw feels”: ecstasy, thrills, orgasm, delight, mirth, exuberance, and comfort....   [tags: Happiness Essays] 1407 words

Today's Consumer Culture: Bought Self-worth and Artificial Happiness Essay - "There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold And she's buying a stairway to heaven. When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed With a word she can get what she came for. Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven." From "Stairway To Heaven", by Led Zeppelin Shopping malls didn't just happen. They are not the result of wise planners deciding that suburban people, having no social life and stimulation, needed a place to go (Bombeck, 1985). The mall was originally conceived of as a community center where people would converge for shopping, cultural activity, and social interaction (Gruen & Smith, 2005)....   [tags: Happiness Essays]

7 Habits Of Highly Effective People Essay - Stephen R. Covey’s self-help book is an influential communication for personal change. He advises building from the inside-out and offers a plan for moving from dependence to independence and then to interdependence. The inside-out approach starts first with one self, which includes paradigms, characters, and motivations. To improve relationships with others, we have to first improve ourselves by putting character ahead of personality. Covey prefaces the book by explaining paradigms and principles....   [tags: Self Help, Stephen Covey, Seven Habits] 1836 words

Acceptance of Diversity Essay - If I had been asked to define diversity 10 years ago, I would have defined it simply as being different; specifically, of different race, gender and age. These beliefs are similar to the primary dimensions of Marilyn Loden’s Diversity Wheel (Canas & Sondak, 2014). I have viewed diversity primarily in context to my existence in the world around me and Loden’s primary dimensions most closely describe what I thought of when I heard the term diversity. Thankfully, I have grown more in the past 10 years and would now define diversity not just as Loden’s primary dimensions but would say that diversity is an acceptance of the differences between people and these differences permeate all areas of li...   [tags: Racial Diversity, United States, Acceptance]

Anthem: The Key Is Happiness Essay examples - ... He did not enjoy it and this is known because when he starts to do something he takes pleasure in and that is different from everyone else, he discovers true happiness. "We seized their body and we pressed our lips to theirs. We stood together for a long time. And we were frightened that we had lived for twenty one years and had never known what joy is possible to men" (Rand 83). Actaully I was happy a s a single college student, living with both of my parents, two brothers and two sisters in California. I was getting my education living normal healthy life but I knew something was missing and that was a person to share my life and heart with. The lack of love that I had at that time made me rethink and askmyself , if I would be happier if I was in love? Of course I couldn't answer to my own question at that moment. I remember when I graduated from highschool, if only I can express the feeling of comfort that I felt on that day. I honestly can't express it because it's an inner feeling and
touch that only the individual itself understands it and feels it. Another thing that I can defiantly consider to be a happy experience is birth.

Giving birth to a child is an ultimate feeling. I've never had a baby but I would positively love when that day comes. One day I asked my dear friend that's very close to me if she's happy in her life and I told her to be completly honest with me. She said," Zain, I would love to answer your question, if only I knew what happiness is." I immediatly turned my head towards her newborn baby boy and looked back at her, then I said, " The child that's laompletly honest with me. She said," Zain, I would love to answer your question, if only I knew what tively t with. This is how I can still sit with my grandfather (who died recently), together again on a high mountain, with the wind in our hair, the valley stretched out before us, and sing with the happiness we shared. We all, I think, want to be happy. Or at least we wish to have some memory of happiness that we carry in
our hearts.

A complex thing it is, this happiness. If we had to ask each person to rate their happiness on a scale from 1-10, how people do you think would even be half way?I don't think that many.
Everybody in this world has the right to happiness. However, I don?t think we should seek our happiness by all means. I don?t agree that people should be selfish in order to get whatever they want. Of course, I?m not saying that there aren?t any selfish people in this world, but some people are more selfish than others .So we need to have some balance in what we want and what would make us happy. Also we need to make sure that we don?t burden our selves in the sake of others' happiness.

Happiness to me is complete love and understanding of the being that you are, and the soul that you have. When a person understands the purpose of their life, they are content, and therefore, happy.
