Happiness originally and logically means the inner state of well being or a pleasurable or satisfying experience. It enables you to profit from your highest: thoughts, wisdom, intelligence, common sense, emotions, health, and spiritual values in your life. What makes you happy and what makes me happy are different things. Whatever it is that gives you warm fuzzes is determined by you, and only you. This difference is what makes the world interesting. Is life really about the 'money', the 'cash', who has the biggest gold chain or who drives the shiniest or fastest car, who sells the most albums or who has the most respect? Today happiness is viewed in many different ways. Everyone defines happiness according to their personal perpectives. Each individual describes their inner feelings in a way that you can't compare with another.
Most of the happiness that we experience comes from the feeling of love. So many people look to their love relationships, especially marriage to give them the happiness that they cannot find on their own. Love is not enough to provide happiness, then there must be many frustrated lovers in the world. The belief that love gurantess happiness is left over from the ideology of romantic love that tells us we will live happily ever after if we can only find the right person with whom to spend our life with. If we realize that love by itself will not bring happiness, then hopefully we will be more tolerant of the imperfections of those we love. If our relatioships have their problems and if those we love do not always meet our expectations it doesn't mean that we have lost our chance for happiness. When we do not expect love to give us the happiness we seen, there will be more room for forgiveness of the imperfections and problems that always accompany love.
What makes us happy is so varied. To be happy is a fleeting thing, which we enjoy so much and often want it back as soon as possible .The things that make me happy in my life can seem boring to others. My happiness is my health,my success and my marriage. My happiness is to have a shoulder to lean on when my days are going bad. Marriage has helped me look forward for my future. It opened my heart and my mind to the true existing world. It's not like I wasn't happy before I got married.
Actaully I was happy a s a single college student, living with both of my parents, two brothers and two sisters in California. I was getting my education living normal healthy life but I knew something was missing and that was a person to share my life and heart with. The lack of love that I had at that time made me rethink and askmyself , if I would be happier if I was in love? Of course I couldn't answer to my own question at that moment. I remember when I graduated from highschool, if only I can express the feeling of comfort that I felt on that day. I honestly can't express it because it's an inner feeling and
touch that only the individual itself understands it and feels it. Another thing that I can defiantly consider to be a happy experience is birth.
Giving birth to a child is an ultimate feeling. I've never had a baby but I would positively love when that day comes. One day I asked my dear friend that's very close to me if she's happy in her life and I told her to be completly honest with me. She said," Zain, I would love to answer your question, if only I knew what happiness is." I immediatly turned my head towards her newborn baby boy and looked back at her, then I said, " The child that's laompletly honest with me. She said," Zain, I would love to answer your question, if only I knew what tively t with. This is how I can still sit with my grandfather (who died recently), together again on a high mountain, with the wind in our hair, the valley stretched out before us, and sing with the happiness we shared. We all, I think, want to be happy. Or at least we wish to have some memory of happiness that we carry in
A complex thing it is, this happiness. If we had to ask each person to rate their happiness on a scale from 1-10, how people do you think would even be half way?I don't think that many.
Everybody in this world has the right to happiness. However, I don?t think we should seek our happiness by all means. I don?t agree that people should be selfish in order to get whatever they want. Of course, I?m not saying that there aren?t any selfish people in this world, but some people are more selfish than others .So we need to have some balance in what we want and what would make us happy. Also we need to make sure that we don?t burden our selves in the sake of others' happiness.
Happiness to me is complete love and understanding of the being that you are, and the soul that you have. When a person understands the purpose of their life, they are content, and therefore, happy.
