Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us. Friends can tell harsh truths when they must be told. There are four different types of friends: True friends, Convenient friends, Special interest friends, and historical friends. To have friendship is to have comfort. In times of crisis and depression, a friend is there to calm us and to help lift up our spirits. There are many illustrations that show why a friend can be a great comforter. For example, if a student is going through a hard time at school, a friend can offer guidance, encouragement and support. A true friend is also someone who loves and respects us. A boyfriend and a girlfriend desire to be with each other. They love each other so much that they just want to be with each other as much as possible. This bond is also present in a good friendship because it has genuine love. Also, as friends they respect each other. They try to avoid causing conflicts. They don’t make fun of each other, but treat each other with respect. As friends, we all make sacrifices for each other. Some friends risk their lives for a friend. An example of this true friendship can be found in the movie, American Pie. Todd had a championship football game, but on the same day there was an All-State choir going on. Todd and his girlfriend were both into choir. He couldn’t be in two places at once, so he gave up his football game so that he could be with his girlfriend. Everyone on the football game looked up to him because he made a sacrifice to be with his girlfriend. When his girlfriend asked why. He responded, I did it for you. This shows friendship through a humble heart. One of the most important details in a friendship is to never leave or forsake the other. A friend is also loyal, for example in the movie Lord of the Rings, Froto and Sam Wise had a wonderful fellowship. They lived in peace and in one accord. Also in the movie, gandalf sent froto on a mission. Froto was scared and he didn’t want to go on the journey by himself. Gandalf brought frotos friend, Sam Wise, who went with him on the journey.
In “Against School” by John Gatto, he argues that the modern schooling system of America is slowly but surely corrupting the minds of the country’s children. While many of the ideas he states are correct and accurate, many individual arguments he uses tend to stray away from the original topic. As the article goes on, the author uses sensitive words relating to the topic to attempt to reach us emotionally through the writing.
Memory refers to storage, for example, our thoughts, knowledge, past experience, retention and recalled information is part of our cognitive mapping. It depends on a person state of mind that’s specific information varies to the content of the information itself. Needless to say, information that is considered interesting, or exciting seems to be better remembered than information that is boring or uninterested. Usually, if information has failed adequately store than the memory can normally result as failure as well. Which means if the storage of information fails to retain (forgetting) or if failure to retrieve the person’s memory fails altogether. The neurons produce activity in other neurons which overtime will be strengthened, that is known to be located inside a person’s long-term potentiation. (Meyers,
The babbling that usually takes places around 6 months of age may be nonexistent, minimized or may only take place later than typical infants. Babbling may also not expand at the same rate or may not show sign of association to actual words. At the age of five to seventeen months comprehension of the baby’s sounds imitating vowels becomes challenging when the baby is dead or hard of hearing. The level of hearing impairment may affect the child’s ability to associate that specific sounds are coming from a specific direction, allowing make the connection to for instance look at someone when being spoken to. The same issue occurs between the ages of eight to nine months, the difference being that at this point the child should be turning his or her head towards the sound instead of the whole body as in younger months. Around twelve months of age a deaf or hearing impaired infant will understand verbals directions that are given along with visual ones, because of the visual cue the infant is able to understand the message, but not without it. By sixteen months of age such child may not respond to instructions that are given with the use of words only and that are not associated with any visuals or gestures causing the child to not understand or follow
When a child is diagnosed with deafness, many parents often wonder what the exact cause of the child’s deafness is. In recent studies (Arnos K. &., 2007) 50-60% of hearing loss (moderate to profound, congenital, or early-onset) have shown genetics to be a large factor. Non genetic factors (i.e. maternal infection, prematurity or postnatal infection) may cause 40-50% of the remaining hearing loss. About one-third of children with hereditary deafness have features that are part of a genetic syndrome and there are between 300-400 different forms of genetic deafness that are known. Most children benefit from a genetic evaluation as a dominant diagnostic tool in determining the exact cause of the deafness, and the role of the audiologist is pivitol in counseling parents of deaf children through this process.
In his essay “Against School,” John Taylor Gatto illustrates his view point that the American population would be better off by managing their own education. He compares the school system to the concept of boredom; that students as well as teachers are victims of the long ago adopted Prussian educational system: “We suppress our genius only because we haven’t yet figured out how to manage a population of educated men and women. The solution, I think, is simply and glorious. Let them manage themselves.” In other words, Gatto believes that the main reason for the existence of schooling consists in that it trains our children to be obedient citizens who can’t think on their own. His point is that as a society we cut off the intelligence and creativity

Loud noises a common cause of hearing. Constant exposure to loud noises such as noises made by drilling equipments and very loud music, causes the gradual damage of the hair cells in cochlea. Exposure to thunderous noise of explosions can cause sudden hearing loss.
Hearing-impairment later in life may possibly be the consequence of many different reasons; diseases such as Meningitis, Mumps, of even AIDS might cause deafness. There are many ways of categorize hearing loss. One category is conductive hearing loss might be the outcome of when sound waves have difficulty getting transmitted from the air outside the ear to the tiny hair cells in the cochlea, which is the inside of the ear, where the sound waves are transmitted as nerve impulses. This type of hearing loss is frequently found in a swimmer's ear. After the sound waves passes through the ear canal it may cause the eardrum [Tympanic Membrane] to throb.

A true friend is someone who cares, someone who’s here for me at any and every hour of the night, someone who helps, someone I can trust, and someone who can cheer me up when I’m sad. A true friend only comes around once in a while and without proper value and appreciation for her she may be gone before I know it. A true friend is someone to be yourself in front of, someone who knows everything about you and still wants to be your friend through it all. She’s someone I can tell everything to without feeling embarrassed or afraid. In reality not many friends have all of these qualities. A true friend may be invisible at times; although my eyes may not see her I know that no matter what, she’s here. Friendship is a very important gift Gd gave to us when He created the world. Our mission is to be the friend we want for ourselves to others thus adding more true friends to the world. If I don’t put all my heart into a friendship, there won’t be a friendship. A friendship is two ways; it’s something that takes time and effort from both sides to get to where you need to
