As a young kindergarten student at naptime, I was always restless, simply because my playing such a small role in the world seemed inadequate to me at the time. As the years wore on, though, I realized that the saying, “You must crawl before you can walk,” is very true. Every great person had to endure being a child, teenager, and so forth. Therefore, I no longer wish to be older. These transitional years are the years in which we learn the most. Being so motivated at the age of five points directly to the traits I had and still have to this day.
Big dreams are all I’ve ever known. I think that will be one key to my success. The ambition I have to create myself into the most powerful and effective person I can be always presides with me. So long as I keep a strong attitude, I have no doubt that I will inevitably become what I’ve always dreamed I would be. Looking back when I’m older, I want to be able to say, “This is my life, and I’m happy with who I am and what I’ve accomplished.” I have this strange feeling that I was meant to be someone special, and I plan on satisfying that feeling.
No matter what profession you go in, I firmly believe in being passionate about it. Your work is so much more productive when you feel strongly about the subject in question! I possess a passion for two things that only a few people can understand at my age. Those would be history and government. They found their way into my heart, all because of my eighth grade American history teacher. For all I know, she could have thought I was just brownnosing, but I truly found my calling because of her.
The last trait I have that I think will benefit me as a politician is just pure love for everyone. Sadly enough, I see people today who disrespect each other for no reason at all. It’s disheartening and makes me have a tinge of disgust for mankind. I, on the other hand, believe that everyone deserves to be treated with respect, despite what they may say or do to me. I, personally, think my love for people and desire to help in any and every way I can makes me an excellent candidate for governmental offices.
This article talks about the growing movement of hiring maids for household work. This article starts off as being about gender inequality, but then turns into an issue of class and moral standards. The author explains her own experiences of house cleaning. She also describes how “wealthier class’s children are being raised with the attitude”. (Barbara Ehrenreich) That the people that clean up after them are “lower” than everyone else. Additionally she talks about how the hiring of house hold workers will increase and eventually move on to the middle class homes.
There have been countless numbers of films produced and directed in the past decade that could be labeled as weird or bizarre, however, one of the most head-scratching and unusual films to hit the big screen in the past decade was Donnie Darko (2001), directed by Richard Kelly. The film depicts a troubled adolescent named Donnie (Jake Gyllenhaal), who after surviving a near death experience, finds himself at the center of numerous acts of violence and vandalism in his community, possibly due to his growing insanity. Arguably, one of the highlights of the film, if not the main highlight, occurs during Donnie’s first day back at school since his close brush with death. This dreamlike and hyper amplified school-entrance montage that Kelly takes the viewer through has a major contribution to the film in its entirety because it gives a much deeper meaning to the film in terms of the audio-visual style.
Where I thought Money, fame, glory and power where my goals. I dreamed of becoming the CEO of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Moreover, the reason was that currently their CEO makes 14.5 million a year. Growing up I always assumed making more money would make me happy. As I grew up and started, working the goal was always to make more money. For instance, my first job I made $15 a day. I would tell myself if I only made $30 a day, I would be able to do this or that. As the years progress I went on to tell myself if I only made XX amount of dollars my life would get better. Now that I am making a decent amount of money now I can say okay life is better but it is not the money it is my lifestyle and my son that has enhance my
There are over sixty offenses in the United States of America that can be punishable by receiving the death penalty (What is..., 1). However, many individuals believe that the death penalty is an inadequate source of punishment for any crime no matter how severe it is. The fact remains, however, that the death penalty is one of the most ideal forms of punishment. There are other individuals who agree with the idea that capital punishment is the best form of punishment. In fact, some of these individuals believe that this should be the only form of punishment.
The profession I have chosen to work in is nursing. This is not a career that one can go into just for the money. There needs to be compassion and concern towards others. I have worked as nurse for the last five years and I know it is the right profession for me. I feel I have the personality and skills that is required to work in this profession. I have chosen to advance my degree in nursing to better myself personally and professionally.
Eating disorders are described as an illness involving eating habits that are irregular and an extreme concern with body image or weight. Eating disorders tend to appear during teenage years, but can develop at any age. Although more common in women, eating disorders can affect any age, gender or race. In the United States, over 20 million women and 10 million men are personally affected by eating disorders. There are many different causes of eating disorders such as low self esteem, societal pressures, sexual abuse and the victims perception of food. Eating disorders are unique to the sufferer and often, their perception of themselves is so skewed, they may not be aware they have an eating disorder. Media, for quite some time now, has played a significant part in eating disorders. Magazines with headlines ‘Summer Body’, or ‘Drop LB’s Fast!’ attract the attention of girls who may be insecure with themselves. Television productions such as the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show or American’s Next Top Model, show airbrushed and photoshopped women who have body types that may be unachievable. Those who are suffering from eating disorders can suffer dangerous consequences, and it is important to seek help.
When someone is legally convicted of a capital crime, it is possible for their punishment to be execution. The Death Penalty has been a controversial topic for many years. Some believe the act of punishing a criminal by execution is completely inhumane, while others believe it is a necessary practice needed to keep our society safe. In this annotated bibliography, there are six articles that each argue on whether or not the death penalty should be illegalized. Some authors argue that the death penalty should be illegal because it does not act as a deterrent, and it negatively effects the victim’s families. Other scholar’s state that the death penalty should stay legalized because there is an overcrowding in prisons and it saves innocent’s lives. Whether or not the death penalty should be

Focusing on pursuing a career you like is important because statistics show fifty-two percent of Americans are unhappy going to work every day because they chose a career they didn’t have an interest in. My ideal job is in the medical field because I’ve always had a passion in helping people. I want to specialize in nurse anesthesia because of the important role they have in society. Nurse anesthesia interests me because of the tasks they do, the advanced education path they must take, and the history behind the profession.
The career field I chose is to be a firefighter. The reason why I want to be a firefighter is because they help people and prevent fires from spreading. I’ve always wanted to help people everywhere, because I don’t like it whenever if there is an accident and some people died and lost their loved ones, people talking crap about them and just talking and pointing the cameras in their face watching them cry. I want to help people and make a difference and help protect people’s life, and be someone people recognize when I walk by them.
The career I chose is an art curator. I chose to do an art curator because I’ve always loved museums. Some of my favorite places are aquariums, zoos, and art museums. I also have always had an appreciation for art, and I recently decided to pursue a career in art. However I have never been good at fine arts, like drawing, painting, and sculpting. I have always had an appreciation for the arts, so I decided to study art history in college because I am interested in what makes art so appealing. It makes sense that I would work in an art museum, to combine my interest in art history and my love for museums. One day I hope to work in a museum and curate a gallery of my own for other people to see and get inspired.
I had a hard time finding a career. All the careers I came across did not interest me at all. Until a friend came up with the idea of the career of athletic training. That is when I started my research and my interest grew greater.

Helping other people is very important to me. I believe that becoming a nurse is one of the best ways for me to be able to help people.

Political skill was introduced as a construct roughly three decades ago and yet research on the topic remains less than robust. Broadly, political skill is seen as the ability to evaluate situations and understand others effectively in the work environment. Individuals who are adept at maximizing their political skills also have the ability to influence others in such a way that appears sincere in order to meet an end goal, whether that is personal or professional.
