Dinosaurs
…I found myself with my leg lodged between two trees which the Tyrannosaurus Rex knocked over. I remained totally still knowing that if I moved the T-Rex would see me. The beast came so close to me that I could feel him breathing on my face. The T-Rex however, could not see me because of his poor vision and the time of night. Then I saw my chance, just as he bent over to eye me one more time I struck him in the eye with my knife made of bone. I pushed the knife deeper and deeper into the beast's head until his screaming stopped. The T-Rex fell shaking the earth with its weight.
I was hunting for my wife and children who lived in the cave-house I built for them last winter. I and my two boys of the age of sixty and seventy-two seasons skinned the T-rex. It took three days to haul all the meat back to the cave house. My wife stored the meat in the underground cavern we had, which we usually used to hide ourselves from hunting dinosaurs.
Our cave-house was located in what was called a cave city. These cities were carved out of a giant mountain and were run by an almighty leader, whom we referred to as the almighty. The people who lived in the cave-city were called commoners, and were referred to as the people. In every cave-city there was a drinking den, where the men of the city could come after a day of hunting and working to kick back and relax. At the drinking den the men enjoyed drinking fresh-made berry juice which would cost only two shells a serving. In the drinking den there were a lot of men who loved to tell stories about what they hunted and how big their catch was. Most of what these men said was half-true. They never told the whole truth in a story. For example if a man were to kill a T-Rex, which was ten thousand, hands tall they would say the Rex was eleven thousand hands tall. I usually went to the drinking den everyday. There were three men whom usually accompanied me there. These men's names were Big Joe, Medium Tim and Tiny Mike. Big Joe was about fifteen hands high and four hands wide, he had a low-pitched voice and was slow in his ways, he had a very short temper and was known for being somewhat of a Klutz.
Peripheral and central mechanisms involving nerve lesions and their input are substantial when perceiving phantom pain. Due to the impairment of peripheral nerves in the process of amputation, regenerative sprouting of damaged axons occurs and the activity rate of inflamed C-fibres and demyelinated A-fibres spontaneously increases (Flor, 2002). As a consequence of this nerve injury, a neuroma, which is a mass of pruned and tangled axons, may form in the residual limb producing abnormal (ectopic) activity (Katz, 1992). Flor, Nikolajsen and Jenson (2006) proposed that ectopic discharge from a neuroma in the stump illustrates abnormal afferent input to the spinal cord, which is a possible mechanism for unpro...
In the countries who believed Alexander was the son of the devil or the devil himself, will say he is not ‘great’ but a demon who did evil. The countries who were on his side would say he was the greatest conqueror to live. He began as a Macedonian cavalry commander at eighteen, king of Macedonia at twenty, conqueror of Persia at twenty-six and explorer of India at thirty [Foner and Garraty]. The amount of large scale accomplishments he managed to finish in a span of six years is astonishing. Alexander’s tomb was the largest tourist attraction in the ancient world. The tomb was even visited by Julius Caesar, Pompey, Caligula, and Augustus. Alexander the Great’s accomplishments set a bar in which provided a standard that all other leaders would match their careers too. Many leaders after Alexander could not reach the standard left by him [Foner and
Jurassic Park is the story of how one man’s idea puts many lives in danger. With lots of experimentation, scientists who worked for him were able to extract blood from prehistoric mosquitoes and other biting insects caught in amber then examine it for foreign blood cells. After that, they would extract them. Doing that, they could obtain DNA of extinct animals; dinosaurs who have been extinct for millions of years. Through a long process, they could recreate dinosaurs. Jurassic Park is a book full of suspense and horrifying murders. I wouldn’t recommend this book to everyone, but just people who enjoy science fiction and suspense. I also recommend not read Dennis Nedry’s death multiple times because it’s gross and...just gross. But other than that, I would give this five dinosaurs out of five dinosaurs!
Typically, when an individual browses through various newspapers or watches the evening news they are most likely to see or hear some new and groundbreaking news concerning a scientific breakthrough. As I was looking through various scientific journals I came across an article that caught my eye for numerous reasons, but one in particular. The heading of the article read, “Cannibal dinosaurs revealed by tooth marks.” These prehistoric creatures that have been viewed by the public for centuries as being wild and ferocious beasts, are presently being seen more then just that. Recent evidence originating in Madagascar is leading researches in the direction that dinosaurs consumption of food did not strictly adhere to the food chain but instead fed amongst their own kind.
The Extinction of Dinosaurs How did the dinosaurs become extinct? This is a question that has stumped scientists ever since dinosaur fossils were first discovered. There are many theories as to how the dinosaurs became extinct. This page presents some of the most popular theories. Keep in mind that there is no absolutely proven theory.
World War I was ultimately ended in 1918 after the Treaty of Versailles was signed. Peace settlements were signed on June 28, 1918 at the Hall of Mirror in Versailles, Paris. The Treaty was an agreement among the United States, Great Britain, and France. Woodrow Wilson, George Clemenceau, and David Lloyd, who represented the "Big Three" countries, collaborated in negotiating the Treaty. The Treaty of Versailles was designed to weaken Germany and give Germany full blame for causing the war. The Treaty implemented massive reparations to Germany which would obliterate Germany's economy, notwithstanding the millions of dead allied soldiers. The settlement strictly limited the German's military. Germans were additionally forced to depart from their homes in Russia, Poland, and Alsace-Lorraine and return to Germany or Austria. Furthermore Germany had to give back any land belonging to other countries. With no alternative, Germany signed the peace settlements. The Treaty of Versailles was undoubtedly justified, Germany was positively the main instigator of the war and its excessive brutality of fighting provoked the war more particularly. Thus, making the amends to Germany was rational because of all the destruction Germany had triggered.
Circuses portray animals as talented and well-behaved beings, but behind closed doors, the animals are placed in pain and misery to perform the demeaning acts. Animals suffer without the publics’ knowledge of such torture. Laws protect these animals but are not sturdy enough to stop the overall sadness of the animals.
There has been a debate about what happened to the dinosaurs since they were discovered. There are many thoughts of what happened to the dinosaurs, the two main theories behind the extinction are scientific and religious. Proof for both theories do exist and debates between scientists are still going on to which one really happened. It is a mystery as much for Evolutionists as it is for Creationists about the extinction of the dinosaurs. The fossil record of dinosaurs was poorly know for a long period of time. During this time period was when the dinosaurs were thought to have gone extinct. The scientific reason for their extinction was that there was a giant asteroid that caused chain reaction and wiped out the dinosaurs. Some scientists say the dinosaur’s extinction came quickly. Evolutionists say the dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago. Creationists say that the dinosaurs weren’t able to survive the Earth after the flood. Both of the theories have supporting evidence and that is why there is an ongoing debate over what really happened to the dinosaurs. (WGBH Educational Foundation and Clear Blue Sky Productions, Inc. et al., 2001)
Extinction of Dinosaurs Two-hundred and thirty million years ago, the first dinosaur-like creature roamed the earth. Within five million years it could be considered a dinosaur. The sandstones of the dinosaur. They were soon at the top of the food chain. They populated every continent.
A number of different theories have been assessed throughout the course of this research to attempt to reach a conclusion as to the reason behind the extinction of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Although all arguments are credible, and supportive with educated information and data, the most conclusive theory of all is The Alvarez Asteroid Impact theory.
In Theory, there a infinitely many possibilities of what really happened to the dinosaurs. Every scientist, and every religious group say they have an idea of what really happened. But how can we tell whether they are wrong or right? We can’t. We can only make a guess, or believe what we want to believe. Religious people have their beliefs and the scientist have their beliefs too. We, ourselves have to decide on which ones we want to believe.
In the third instalment of Jurassic Park, was a real swing and miss when it came to knocking it out of the ball park. With no spectacular or miraculous happenings to make the film truly stand out. The only contending players worthy of keeping a look out for being the Velociraptor’s, who were the films saving grace and true MVP’s.
Freshwater in the world makes up only a small portion of water on the planet. While the percentage of water in the world is nearly 70%, only 2.5% is consumable. Even further, only <1% is easily accessible to basic human needs. According to National Geographic, “by 2025, an estimated 1.8 billion people will live in areas plagued by water scarcity, with two-thirds of the world's population living in water-stressed regions as a result of use, growth, and climate change.” With this current trend, water will become more immersed in environmental, economic, political, and social changes. Many of these in later years shall need to be addressed as tension rises:
...cts us and everything around us, and what it takes to get clean drinking water. In addition I have also given examples of organizations that raise money to help people obtain clean water. We can’t take clean water for granted, because everything around us including us, needs clean water in order to survive and to work. I have talked about how if we are able to end the clean water crisis, we are able to focus on other global problems such as world hunger and economic problems. Once we are able to focus on other things we may be able to work on technology that will allow us to make more water in to clean drinking water to accumulate to our increasingly growing population. In conclusion clean drinking water and clean water in general is a very vital part of our lives and our world. We would not be here if it wasn’t for water, and we need to keep our water clean.
The remains of these dinosaurs were found on every continent except Antarctica thus proving that they were very widespread. Sauropods had the most long lived life span when compared to other animals. Their existence expanded up to 100 million years. This was a very long time, especially for such a large animal to maintain itself (Klein, 2011). However, after many years, they began to die one by one due to the challenges that presented themselves in the wild. For example, vegetation became scarce. They began to starve and became an easier prey to predators. Eventually, this led to
