William Shakespeare was born in Stratford on Avon, England, in April of 1564 to Mary and John Shakespeare. He was the third child and the eldest son. His father was a tanner, glove-maker, and trader in wool and other precious commodities. William attended the Stratford Grammar school where he studied and received substantial training in Latin. He was married on November 27, 1582, to a woman named Anne Hathaway, who was eight years older than he was. In May of 1583, the couple's first daughter, Susanna was born. The couple had twins in February of 1585, Hamnet and Judith. Throughout his life, Shakespeare wrote thirty-seven plays, and several poems and sonnets. He was also an actor for a short while. Several of Shakespears plays were performed at the famous Globe Theater in England. On April 23, 1616 Shakespeare died, he was buried at the church of Stratford on April 25, 1616. One of Shakespeare's most famous plays is Romeo and Juliet. I first read this play in my ninth grade English class. At the time, I remember how difficult it was for me to read it. The language was very different from what I was accustomed to reading it was as if it was a foreign language. At first we depended on my teacher to help interpret the play to us. After a little reading and adjusting to the language, I could read it on my own and understand it. This is when I actually began to like reading Shakespeare. I have also read Julius Caesar and Macbeth. Of the three plays that I have read, I like Romeo and Juliet the best. My first introduction to Romeo and Juliet was reading the original play by William Shakespeare. The play is about two families, the Capulets and the Montagues. These two families have a deep-rooted hatred for each other. The family's hatred towards each other is key in this play. Juliet comes from the Capulets and Romeo from the Montagues. Romeo and Juliet first meet at a masquerade ball that is being held at the Capulet's home. Upon first glance, the two immediately fall in love. They quickly figure out who comes from which family. They know that this is going to cause huge problems. Romeo and Juliet sneak off together so that they can talk and get to know each other a little better.
In the 19th century women began to take action to change their rights and way of life. Women in most states were incapable to control their own wages, legally operate their own property, or sign legal documents such as wills. Although demoted towards their own private domain and quite powerless, some women took edge and became involved in parts of reform such as temperance and abolition. Therefore this ultimately opened the way for women to come together in an organized movement to battle for their own rights in such ways as equal education, labor, legal reform, and the occupations. As stated in the nineteenth amendment, a constitutional revision that established women’s citizen rights to vote.
Through the continuing studies focused on regeneration and stem cells, scientists can try to see how manipulate totipotent cells found in humans to regenerate into any cell needed throughout the body (Wagner et al., 2012). Humans will benefit from advances in regeneration when faced with degenerative diseases that affect the muscular system or major organs necessary for life. Regeneration can help rebuild organs or muscles damaged by infection or disease and change medicine and human health (Salvetti et al., 2009).

Another example from the text deals with the fact that it is in your power whether to act or ignore the scream. The 1964 case depicts Kitty Genovese as a helpless woman in need of assistance. Unfortunately, the woman screamed for help and nobody came to her aid. This scenario demonstrates how society chose to ignore her calls due to personal reasons.
As the problem of job outsourcing becomes more of an issue in politics, elected officials like the President and Congress will no longer be able to ignore the dilemma. The war in Iraq has been at the forefront of the presidential race but the importance of outsourcing American jobs seems to have been slightly overshadowed. If the issue of outsourcing is not watched carefully and a definitive plan hammered out, a trickling down of negative effects may occur within the U.S. economy. However, there is a polarized opinion on the effects of this “phenomenon”.
An education is one of the most important tools a person can acquire. It gives them the skills and abilities to obtain a job, earn a wage, and then use that wage to better their lives and the lives of their loved ones. However, due to the seemingly exponential increase in the costs of obtaining a college degree, students are either being driven away entirely from earning a degree or taking out student loans which cripple their financial prospects well after graduation. Without question, the increasing national student loan debt is one of the most pressing economic issues the United States is dealing with, as students who are debt ridden are not able to consume and invest in the economy. Therefore, many politicians and students are calling on the government to forgive their student loan debts so that through their spending the slowly recovering economy can finally return to its pre-2008 strength.
Earth has physically changed millions of times due to moving tectonic plates which has formed our planets mountains; altering the way our environment looks. Volcanoes, (formed when magma from the upper mantle heads to the surface, causing the land to rise) are one of nature’s finest spectacles. These geographical forces have erupted many times; from small-scale eruptions to cataclysmic ones; making them a force to consider about. Therefore the past is useful in predicting possible future eruptions as in terms of the effects they can have on civilisation, they are unpredictable in what they can produce.
One good thing about the practice of capital punishment is that it has evolved to a more humane nature for the person being executed. Capital punishment has been practiced for hundreds of years. In the end of the 18th century Great Britain banned drawing and quartering, which was a gruesome act where “The victims were first hung by the neck but taken from the scaffold while still alive”( Hung, drawn and quartered 10). Also around the same time France had invented the guillotine. Hangings were also made more humane by replacing short drop hangings (which basically caused the “criminals” to suffocate to death) with a long drop hanging where the criminal was dropped from a longer distance which caused the neck to break and in turn severed the spine, this change in technique would lessen the suffering of the victim. In the Uni...
...eisthenes both contributed to the development of Athenian democracy, Cleisthenes was the first to really implement and pioneer it in Athens. But when deciding who’s reforms were closer to the ‘ideals’ of democracy, you firstly have to consider that Solon didn’t have any previous democracies to delve into while creating his own laws for Athens. Therefore, Solon’s intentions, at the time of establishing these laws, must be kept in mind, because he was unaware of whether they were considered democratic or not. (Texin, 2013, p.1). When Cleisthenes created ostracism and the ten tribes, his main intention was to break up the aristocratic families and stop them from ruling over the commoners.
Romeo and Juliet, one of the most famous and acclaimed plays of William Shakespeare, recounts the romance of a couple whose lives destiny would at the end head towards tragedy. This play takes place in Verona in the late 1500’s. The play deals mostly with the fact that Romeo couldn’t be with Juliet since their families were such big rivals. However, though all of their family hated each other so much, Romeo and Juliet had never met before.
Benjamin Franklin developed a theory that every object had an "electrical fluid". He believed that some objects had too much of this fluid, while others did not. By putting his theories together, he invented the electrical battery. It was made out...
Shakespeare in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet depicts the conflict between fate and free will through use of his characters’ actions and beliefs. Fate is the main driving force between the demise of the two main protagonists. Because of it, superstition, the actions of others, and the idea of chance are allowed a main role in the play building up to events that lead to a tragic end.
Outsourcing is, “practice of having certain job functions done outside a company instead of having an in-house department or employee handle them” (Entrepreneur.com 1).With every choice comes consequences some are benefeicial some are negative. Outsourcing benefits are saving money to expand business. Interviewed by CNN, Mike Scanlin, a small business owner, has saved half a million dollars due to outsourcing. Instead of paying someone $150 an hour in the U.S he pays people on the eastern hemisphere $15 an hour. There are many other business who have performed such task such as Allstate, AT&T, Coca-Cola, Expedia, and many more. Outsourcing also comes with a hard price: job loss. Techsunite.org states that outsourcing is a terrorist threat and that over 500,000 jobs have been outcourced since 2000 and over 250,000 were lost due to outsourcing. Outsourcing has been one of the top ten ways to lose a job since 2000. There has been over thousands of companies that outsource jobs abroad. Also, their are companies considering moving to the outsource method; which means more job lose. When people lose their jobs they lose their homes when intell makes them homeless. Large homeless rates make our american pride questionable. The question becomes are we really united or are we cheap? If all companies stopped outsourcing and kept all jobs here in the U.S the homeless rate would decrease dramastically.
Described as one of the greatest love stories of all time, Romeo and Juliet is also a very complicated one. There has been bad blood between the Montague and Capulet families for as long as their generations have lived. The hostility between the two families was so destructive that no human being and no God had the power to diminish it. The story tells us of a young Montague boy, Romeo, and a young Capulet girl, Juliet, who fall madly in love with each other at first sight. Their love for one another is so powerful and irresistible that it brings the feud between the families to an end.
People believe that the sun is the biggest, brightest star in the universe. In reality though, it is not. The sun is classified as a star, but there are many other stars out there that make the sun look like a dull grain of sand. The sun is very powerful though. It fuses hydrogen atoms into helium. This energy will allow the sun to give off a ton of light and heat for a long time. Since the sun can give off this much energy and heat just think how much more the other bigger stars give off. This leads us to the idea that the North Star, Polaris, is another star that is up there on the list of the “biggest and brightest”. While it is really bright, this is only because it is so close to us. Technically it is an average size star in a convenient spot for us to guide to.
