Education is the Foundation of Opportunity

I want to go into education with an open mind. Education is the foundation of opportunity, and I want to give young people all the opportunities I’ve had. It is because of these opportunities that I feel that I was called to the field of education.
Every person who has ever been in school knows that there are teachers we will remember and teachers we will forget. We think of all the effective teachers we’ve had over the years with a sense of recognition, but the ones that have touched our humanity we remember with a deep sense of gratitude. We will remember some teachers because of what they taught us, some we will remember because of why they taught us. Students in my class may not leave with a complete grasp and understanding on linking verbs or calculus, but they will gain a little bit more knowledge about life.
I want my classroom to be very organized. I want my rules, procedures, and consequences to be very clear to the students. I want them to know what they are and why I made them. I believe that organization is a key factor in a teacher’s success. Show me a teacher who isn’t organized, even in their own way, and I will show you an ineffective teacher. I also want my classroom to be neat in appearance. I want the seating arrangement to be set up to where students will have no problem walking around. I also what the decorations on the wall to be neat. I want them to represent something important and not just be there for show.
I now want to tell you about some of my personal goals I would like to accomplish. First of all, I would like to try a harder to enhance myself in becoming a morally ethical person. When I become a teacher, I want to be nothing less then a well-developed positive influence on my students and fellow staff because the best way to lead is to lead by example. A lot of times a teacher is the only positive influence a child will have in their lives.
A Car is a product that people use for transportation from place to another. First, people innovated a steam powered car. By the time, people started to use different fuels to power the cars. For example, people used hydrogen, petrol, and gasoline to power their cars. Nowadays, most people use cars that are powered by petrol or gasoline, even though it affects the environment and create pollution. Other ethnicities are trapped in 1800’s, and can’t seem to envision African Americans as anything other than- low income, ignorant, materialistic individuals’ who only value things that cost more than they make. Which is quite the contrary because most African Americans live in middle class neighborhoods, are college educated and don’t spend all of their money on the newest pair of Jordan’s .These perceptions have hindered the race in a tremendous fashion, even to the point where recently, at Barneys, a very well-known department store; discrimination was brought back to the forefront in America. Barneys was said to profile their black customers, making false assumptions that their African American customers could not afford what they had purchased. Thus causing them to take ‘precautionary measures’ by informing the police. Winsor writes “The officer allegedly accused him of purchasing the belt with a fraudulent card”. This act by department store supergiant and police officer, has caused the African American community to rally together and eradicate discrimination and demand equality.
This piece of writing gave more and deeper understanding how other facts have effects on our life as procrastinators. In this research, I came to very important information. Today, people try to find resources that do not impact on the ozone, or cost a large amount of money. Moreover, most people are not happy with unclean air, which causes an unhealthy environment to live in, and one of the reasons that make unclean air is a fossil fuel. There are millions of cars run daily, so they make the area impure; therefore, the electric cars are the solution for this problem. Electric cars powered by electric motors, and using renewable energy instead of gasoline, are more helpful. One author argues that electric cars are more useful than traditional cars to protect the environment, especially when they depend on the source that used.

My professional plans for the future are to immediately start teaching when I graduate college. However, on my own time I plan on expanding my education to the furthest extent I can in order to continue learning along with my students. Education lies within the strength of a single person, a teacher. The teacher who gets the strength to rise out of bed every morning and face a new day. A teacher has to hold their head up high when they walk into a classroom for fear that the slightest show of weakness may destroy them. To achieve this is the most important purpose in a teacher's life. A teacher is someone who is willing to teach students even when they crave to do other things with their time. An achievement in education lies solely within the goal of becoming greater, which I plan to strive to do.
The definition of procrastination according to Solomon & Rothblum is the determined delay of the start or completion of a task (1984). Procrastinators will also differ from those who do not procrastinate in numerous ways. An example would be that procrastinators often fear failure, strive for perfection, may be slightly pessimistic and more anxious, which may become worse when they realize they are procrastinating (McCown & Johnson, 1991) or when deadlines are approaching (Tice & Baumeister, 1997). The personal and realistic problems that result from dysfunctional procrastination are predominantly acute in academics, as the inclination to put off school-related tasks often result in challenging levels of stress (Solomon & Rothblum 1984), on the whole the end of the academic semester would be the peak (Tice & Baumeister, 1997).
Procrastination can be a major problem in both your career and your personal life because procrastination is the thief of time. When you keep putting off things, they keep piling up and getting in your way of achieving other things. Then you have missed opportunities, frenzied work hours, feel stressed, guilt and resentment; you find you are being overwhelmed easily because there is just so much to do.
My philosophy on education and learning is simple; to teach my future students to the best of my ability to achieve academic success. As well as getting to know my students well. Getting to know a little of their background can help make a difference in our teaching career. As a teacher, we care for our student’s educational needs and to achieve a full potential in their learning ability. I believe that education is an individual, unique experience for every student who enters a classroom. Having a passion for teaching and providing students with a proper education should always be a teacher’s top priority.
I chose education as my career path after working in a classroom to fulfill a Field Study course. The children had a powerful impact; they were amazing; challenging, and most of all loving. In helping them, I quickly realized that I was the one receiving the gift that ultimately inspired me down the path of serving disadvantaged children. After experiencing two semesters in classrooms, I realized my enthusiasm for teaching was not a mere in-the-moment feeling but rather a genuine enthusiasm. I became aware that teachers are an important foundation in society and I look forward to the opportunity to develop the skills children need to adapt and apply for the rest of their lives by encouraging knowledge, character and resilience.
An effective teacher will excite, inspire and motivate students to be active in their learning, investigate new areas of knowledge and make connections to future learning (Whitton et al 2010). When a teacher is successful, their students are motivated, mutually respectful and ready to build on their knowledge and solve real-world problems. To be a teacher of value, one must have many skills and qualities to cater for a diversity of learners and their individual development; this includes many personal traits that are noticed students.
As a future educator, I have many goals. My first goal would be to never overpower my students. Being a teacher should not be a job, it should be a passion. I will focus my classroom around the student’s needs, rather than my own. The classroom will revolve around the students. I will be their guiding hand through education. education is life itself." This philosophy truly emphasizes the importance of education in one's life, and that they are indeed interrelated, not separated. I believe he was expressing, in part, the notion that education should serve us throughout our lives, constantly empowering us to achieve our greatest potential through self-realization. Learning, is a life-long process, by which we are all constantly searching for meaning through reflecting on our experiences to make sense of, and better understand the world in which we live in. I am humble enough to say that I too remain a student, not just in the literal sense, but in life. As teachers, I believe it is our responsibility to provide an educational experience that motivates our students to discover their own hidden potentials and to hopefully achieve self-realization. This is especially important for young children, for it is with the combination of their innate learning ability and the influence of great educators that can account for their marvelous capacity of potential.
