The Somewhat Scary Progression of Technology
Technology has carved the path of human existence since our humble origins. It is our curious nature and ever present ingenuity that leads us to create technological wonders of perplexing magnitude. As the first Neanderthal man sharpened a spear and tempered it in lightning born flames he sealed man-kinds future; a future as certain as our past. The pendulum of human dominance started its undulation and science was conceived to replace the ignorance of our times of yore. With our undying fortitude our achievements soared to the sky within heavens reach, surpassing even our own expectations. Although, with this progress also came the burdens of responsibility, and our technology soon outreached the length of our control. Controlled or not, technology has shaped our fate in ways that are unfathomable by the human mind. The future of technology is difficult to foretell, and can only be prophesized by the study of our past.
Technology as it exists in current times has taken the digital for. With a matrix of binary number systems; computers process information at speeds mystifying the more appreciative of our race. Our innocence and simple life style has been traded for the raw technology that subsidizes our every day existence. The evolution of technology has spurred the loss of culturally identifying characteristics of our society. Par example, labor has become less skilled and more monotonous in structure. The development of computers destroyed many talented workers who created superior goods with a level of quality unmatched by computerized mass production. Also, technology has lead to the ignorance of much of our youth. Video games have prevented scores of people from experiencing life and its awesomeness. They use false fantasy worlds created in the minds on game designers to replace their scanty reality.
This spawns drab people without the necessary experiences to live life. With the advent of technology also came mankind’s loss of privacy. There are many things that the masses do every day that are being recorded and analyzed without our knowledge or consent. The purchases you make, such as beer, are recorded by servers to analyze the effects companies marketing strategy is having on your subconscious (cnn.

It is becoming more and more a trend for high school and underclassmen basketball players to forgo their college eligibility to enter the NBA draft. Most professional sports have restrictions to limit mentally and physically immature players from throwing away their college education to be unsuccessful in the professional ranks. In the National Football League, NCAA football players are not allowed to declare for the pro draft unless they have been in the school’s program for at least three years. In professional baseball and hockey, although they do draft players straight from high school, they have a minor league system set up. These minor leagues allow players the time to develop and still play against an excellent level of competition. This helps their growth process so that when they get into the real big leagues, they are somewhat ready to play and be a factor.

The future is a mystery that human beings can’t figure out because the mindset ideal of the future. A step to get close to the future has been the revolution of technology. It has changed society individually and mentally for the reality for the future. However, technology has change entertainment in the manner of video games. Development to create games has been a phenomenal. Making beautiful digital graphics, wonderful story-lines, and human graphic characters that can talk to an individual through certain scenarios. Although video games are a great revolution for the future it has brought negative influence upon people of all ages in high problems leading into transition behaviors like addiction, violence, and signs of aggression.
I remember as a kid there was nothing more enchanting then going home to play video games. Before I knew it I had become enslaved by my video games. Back then I did not realize it but everything I did was influenced by my video games. Just as I didn’t realize the chains video games had tied around my legs, much of society doesn’t realize how they have become tied down and enslaved by technology. Technology really has come far since 1951. In 1951 it was only possible to hypothesize about futuristic technology just as Ray Bradbury did in his book Fahrenheit 451. However, Ray Bradbury would have never imagined the decisive role that technology has had upon children of the 21st century. Internet, video games, and television has a detrimental effect

What do one think of when they hear the words “Designer Babies”? A couple designing their own baby of course, and it’s become just that. Technology has made it possible for there to be a way for doctors to modify a babies characteristics and its health. Genetically altering human embryos is morally wrong, and can cause a disservice to the parents and the child its effecting.
It is a myth to believe that an officers job is spend fighting dangerous crimes, in reality officers spend more time handing smaller cases. For example, police officers spend a lot of time doing daily tasks such as giving speeding tickets and being mediators in disputes (Kappeler & Potter, 2005). Handing out speeding tickers and handling minor disputes are far from fighting crime. Police officers spend more time doing preventive measures (Kappeler & Potter, 2005). Preventive measures involve officers intervening to prevent further altercations. Victor Kappeler and Gary Potter discussed the myth of crime fighting as invalid and misleading notions of an officer’s employment.
Technology has become an element which is as important as food to people nowadays. Everything that we do in our daily lives requires technology from complex machineries to something as simple as turning on a light bulb. The amazing thinkers behind these life-changing innovations include Alexander Graham Bell; the telephone inventor, Thomas Alva Edison; the man who lit up the world and many more. Have you ever thought why we say ‘hello’ every time we answer a call from the telephone? It is because Bell’s wife was named Hello! Over the years, the evolution of technology has come a very long way as time flies. There is massive difference between the olden days and modern time due to technology. Last time, people find entertainment just by staring into the skies and nature but now we get to laugh over graphics on a glass screens while lazing on our favourite

“… and yet a true creator is necessity, which is the mother of invention.” (Plato 390c). It’s this ‘need’ that fueled are inventions and innovations to reduce the difficulty of all those scenarios deemed impossible. Over the centuries, mankind has progressed by leaps and bound. Starting from being cavemen who hunted animals by sticks and stones to survive, mankind is now able to live luxurious life with well-built homes, stable food and water supply and efficient communication and travel methods. Just picturing the Stone Age and our current lives side by side will make us realize how technology has changed our society. It has changed how we produce our food, communicate with others and how we travel.
The dynamics of our society bring many challenges and opportunities to the business world. Within the last decade, hundreds of jobs have emerged particularly in the technology sector to help keep up with the ever-changing world and to compete on a larger and better scale than the competition. Two key job markets and the basis of this research paper are business intelligence or BI and data mining or DM. These two fields play a very important role in small to large companies and are becoming higher desired sectors within the back offices of the workplace. This paper will explore what the meaning of BI and DM really is, how they are used and what we can expect as workers and learners of the technology and business fields for the future.
There is no doubt that the accomplishments made through technology are astonishing. Technology has made amazing impacts on everything from science in space to medical science to the devices we use every day that make our lives easier. People are living longer and better than ever before, but we can’t forget how to live without it. “Just because technology is there and makes something easier doesn’t mean we should rely on it so much that we can’t think for ourselves,” (Levinson).
