My Dream House

As I approach the island on which my dream house awaits, I catch a quick

glimpse of it.  It is huge, and is the most noticeable building in the area.  My

private plane lands on the air strip next to the house.  I get out of the plane

and start my journey through a heavily wooded path leading to my dream house.

I walk with anxiety toward the house at which I will spend the rest of my life.

All around me lie the most beautiful trees and plants you have ever seen.  It

is peaceful but you can hear the sounds of  birds chirping and small forest

creatures frolicking in the under brush.  As I continue to walk along the path

the end starts to appear.  I now see my house for the first time up close.

Nothing could have prepared me for the moment I was about to experience.

My house that I designed is all I imagined and more.  It is a four story

dream on a huge fifteen acre lot.  As I approach the stairs at the entrance to

the house I am surrounded by four columns leading to the most elegant doors I

have ever seen.  They are made of mahogany and have a stained glass window in

the center.  The handles and the frame is made of brass.  As I continue around

the house I come across three windows overlooking the entrance to the house.

There are black shutters on each window.   As the porch continues to the south

side of the house I am now looking over the Pacific Ocean. A huge eight foot

picture is facing the same way I am.  As I look down and observe the ocean I

see two piers jutting out into the Pacific.  On either side of the piers are

huge boulders protecting the coast line from erosion.  The house's walls are

made of stucco and it has an old fashion shingles that are a clay color.

As I walk into the back yard I am surrounded by the best things a man

could ever want.  Well not quite everything!  But a lot of things.  I walk

toward the road and I first come across a basketball court.  To the left of the

basket ball court is a tennis court. There is a bar in between the two to take

a break at between games.

Descriptive Essay: A Healing Place - In my hometown, there is not much to do on any night of the week, so many nights I found myself walking around town with my friends. After walking an hour of so we would often become tired and need a rest. The swing along the Mississippi River was always a great resting spot. The metal swing fits up to four people and has a great view of the Lock and Dam. Although the swing was cold when we first sat down, it would soon warm up and sometimes we would end up staying there for hours just talking....   [tags: Descriptive Essay Examples] 1218 words

Descriptive Images in Two Hangovers by James Wright Essay - Throughout the poem "Two Hangovers" many vivid and descriptive images are given by the author. The images the reader gets are cold, lonely, and dark as some think winter to be; however, in the second part the reader receives an image of bright colors which could be interpreted as a time of renewal, spring, or a time when things are looking up. Imagery and metaphors are used to show the reader the feeling and life depiction of the person in the poem while portraying the image that reflects this....   [tags: Poems, Poetry] 565 words

House of a Loving Friend Essay - House of a Loving Friend My eyes were half shut as drool brimmed on my lips about to escape any minute and drip onto the desk. Mr. Johnson didn't seem to notice, and lectured on in his steady monotone voice. A piece of paper landed on my desk, which snapped me back to reality causing me to slurp up the excess liquid on my lips. The paper was a note from Keli. That seemed to be all we ever did in Philosophy, write notes. I opened it and peered down at her neat, smooth handwriting. "What's wrong?" was what I found staring back at me....   [tags: Observation Essay, Descriptive Essay] 1150 words

First Paper: “The House on Mango Street” - First Paper: “The House on Mango Street” In The House of Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros depicts the character of Esperanza as a coming-of-age female who dreams about having a house of her own. The house will bring for her the personal and family stability that she needs; as evidenced by the way the author uses the house to represent Esperanza’s search for what she wants to be as an artist and as a woman. This is significant because it speaks about how people may use their imagination as a means to reinvent themselves....   [tags: Literature Review] 917 words

Hermia´s Character in Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare Essay - ... These ten lines express her love towards Lysander, that helps move the story along. Without these lines, it wouldn’t be so obviously pointed out that Hermia loves Lysander. Shakespeare writes in this way to describe to us who Hermia is as a character in this book. This short, simple quote tells us a lot about Hermia and how she treats other people. She is a very kind, caring person who loves Lysander very much. We can gather all of this from lines 171-181 in Act 1, Scene 1. Hermia is also a character who shows her love through poetry....   [tags: description, writing style] 595 words

Life in a Trailer Essay - Imagine being forced to live with your family in a house half the size of your living room for four months. It doesn't exactly sound like a teenager's dream. But for me this nightmare came true this summer when we moved out of our 2,500 square foot house into a 29-foot pull trailer. Why, you might ask. Well, we had recently sold our house and decided to build a new one on Rogers Mesa. Since we had to be out by May 10th and we couldn't find any place to rent, we were forced to purchase a travel trailer to live in during the summer while our new home was being built....   [tags: Descriptive Essay, Descriptive Writing] 1446 words

journey comes to a close I notice a white gazebo off to the east of the house.

It is in a position such that you can see anyone entering or leaving the lot if

you are sitting in it.

As my plane leaves to go home to pack I take one last look at the house.

I think to myself, "Yes this is my dream house, My dream house."
