Evaluation of Strength of a Sports Player
As a defender, I am naturally good at receiving the ball and
accurately passing it up the pitch to my teammates. This is a good
skill to have because without it, the opposition may get hold of a bad
pass and may eventually score a goal from it. On the other hand, if a
teammate recieves a good, accurate pass, they may be able to string
together an attack with other players on my team which could lead to a
goal being scored for our team, which could then boost morale so we
would play even better. This would put pressure on the oppositions
defence and they would be more likely to make errors resulting in our
team gaining more possession and having more chances to score.
Another strength I have is the ablility to pursue an opposing player
at high speeds after their defence has cleared the ball from danger.
They would be trying to keep the ball under close control to prevent
me from stealing it from them. I am quite quick at running so I would
be able to chase down the runaway striker quite easily so they were as
far away from the goal as possible so they were of little danger to
our team. I could then time a sliding challenge or keep running and
get in front of the strkier and try and get a foot to the ball so it
is sent off course and hopefully to one of my teammates. Speed is
crucial for defenders because when they have moved up the pitch for a
corner, there is usually a large clearance so a quick striker can run
onto it and be one-on-one with the goalkeeper. If a defender has
speed, he can run very quickly back into his position and try and
prevent the striker from scoring.
I also have a good vision. I can anticipate where the striker or
midfielder is going to move and I will move myself to try and
intercept the ball played to him. This is good because it gives the

it. It was not this simple for me. I turned around, bent down for the ball,
A course in the sociology of sport and physical activity should be part of an undergraduate curriculum in a kinesiology program because social issues that impact sports and athletes are often overlooked within kinesiology program despite playing an important role within sports. Kinesiology programs tend to focus on the impact of sport and importance of sport and physical activity and could use the insight that sociology of sport and physical activity can provide. The more we know about the social issues around sport and physical activity, and how to limit them, the more we can understand sport and how to improve it and the equality within it.

Toughness is just a term that many individuals use to describe they’re ability to believe that their not weak in any way. Playing the game of basketball and being a part of the team is more than just being tough. Basketball is more of being determined, strong, and willing to become a better athlete. When you have the mindset that I am tough and no one can give you pointers to make your game better. Does not make you an athlete nor makes you tough. What makes any ball player tough are the struggles and the process you go through to make you better. We as players have our ups and downs. As soon as we give up, were no longer determined, strong, and willing. As soon as we give up this problem is what makes us weak, and what coach wants a weak player on their team that gives up in any possible way. There are three words that describe the term tough and these words are being determined, being strong , and willing to learn and become an overachiever in the game of basketball.
Strength is an abstract concept with various meanings. Some meanings are more complex than others. Many people when they hear the word strength think of muscular men who can lift cars or comic book heroes that fly around their city saving people. More exists to the concept than just being muscular. Strength is also shown when one goes through something tough but stays positive and pushes through it anyways. Having strength can mean possessing the ability to accomplish hard tasks because of muscles, being firm or solidly planted in something, or withstanding your own and not giving up or giving in to the opposing force.

First of all, you must take control of the ball and decide what to do with it. You only have two options. You either carry the ball on your own trying to score for your team or you pass the ball and move to get back the ball. Second of all, you need to use the inside of your foot to be more accurate. With you knowing what part of your foot use, choose the person you are passing the ball to. To choose who are you passing the ball to, make sure your teammate is open, that there are none of the opposite players near your teammate, and that your team will make a smart play to score. If an opposing player is near, there is an immense probability for the other team to intercept the ball. Along with that, the other team might score against
From watching others play, you may pick up some techniques or key moves. It helps to do everything yourself also, and from asking for assistance, then trying it yourself you get the real experience. Another way of learning the game of soccer is just going out and playing. When you are on the field with other teammates you watch what they do, and once you see them, you try to copy and eventually get the hang of the sport. In project 2, one of the girl’s was practicing a trick. Her trick was called the rainbow, and her task was to place the ball on the ground, and with one of her feet in front of the ball and the other sideways of the ball. With your feet, between the ball, you would lift it up the back of your calf and with the opposite foot, you would kick the ball over your head hitting it on the back of your heel. In project one, this similar task was done by Brunio from “The Sweet Spot”. Brunio used the deep practice when he was attempting this trick he would take the time to focus and slow down. As he noticed errors, he would perfect them making this his expertise and more of an accomplished
After completing the Clifton strength finders test, I learned my dominant strengths and it gave me a sense on what areas I am strong in. It allows you to work in the areas that you are good in and not in the ones you might not be as strong in. My top five strengths were learner, connectedness, belief, positivity, and includer. A lot of these I figured I would have because I am an athlete and I love to be positive. That is good because I practice these strengths every day which in turn will make me better at them and will allow me to use them in my career.

Sports psychology is the study of how psychology influences sports, athletic performance, exercise and physical activity. Some sports psychologists work with professional athletes and coaches to improve performance and increase motivation. Other professionals use exercise and sports to enhance people’s lives and well-being. While finding ways to help athletes is certainly an important part of sports psychology, the application of exercise and physical activity for improving the lives of non-athletes is also a major focus.
