The Grace of God The Revolution Has Begun - Stop giving your authority to Christ & the Void & the Imagination- you are it, now, the God...you are needed - stop hiding yr. Light in a bushel. - Allen Ginsberg to Neal Cassady My mother was Catholic, and although she raised us as Episcopalians, I always felt that she wanted to go back to her baptismal religion. There was always a loyalty in her to her heritage. I sensed this as she explained to me her belief that everyone is born with a purpose. You need to seek out your destiny, she said. I do not agree with my mother. Destiny unfolds as you live your life. Your purpose is to follow what you care about, and in turn, what you care about will make progress. True love entails the same thought. There is no "the one" for each of us. We begin to know someone and that develops into love, and that person becomes "the one" because there is no one else who could ever be what he or she has become to you. Nothing is preset, but rather, unravels. In that sense, you create your own life, your own fate, your own God. And if you create it, you are it. Everything in your life comes from within you, even your religion. That is the only hole proof comfort to the frailties I mentioned before. Believe it if you wish. I do. Sometimes. I used to stare at my ceiling in the dead of the night and trace the edge where the walls meet with my eyes, my only fear, that the line might blur, or worse, become too sharp. What do I think of in the dead of the night? I think of God. Because darkness is upon me and I have no other protection from the horrors that lurk in my mind. I have no other protection from the edge of my walls, the extremities of my reality, becoming blade-like sharp.

Throughout the years, religions have come together to bring about a new age of interfaith and interconnectedness. There are countless of examples where people have adopted two or more religions as there own, seeing and respecting the relationships and similarities between the two. In hand with this, people are now beginning to understand other religions and respect their practices. There is sort of a hybrid coming about of religions, where communities will pray with each other in a sort of collaboration of respects. However, this change in religion did not come about easily, it took much strife to bring about an interconnectedness that everyone is now a part of. Now that this interconnected and respect occurs in some areas, this can open up

Sins are mistakes made in moments of weakness; everybody has weakness, thus everybody commits sins. These mistakes gone uncorrected leave guilt and regret, but because the nature of guilt is a feeling of responsibility for an action, it reflects the good in someone because at a subconscious level, they long for some form of redemption. The length at which two characters in The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, go to redeem themselves doesn’t necessarily show their “goodness”, but the level of guilt they experienced because of their sins. We find out that that the father, Baba, had an illegitimate son with his best friend’s wife, a Hazara woman, which in turn forced him to cover up his and Hassan’s relationship, not to mention his neglectful treatment of his legitimate son Amir due to their vast personal differences. Amir himself was cowardly when it came to defending his half-brother Hassan, his sins worsened when he sold Hassan out in order to bury his own guilt. While each character is good, Baba sacrificed more than Amir in order to redeem himself; though he was forced to cover up his relationship to Hassan, he did the best he could to give him and Amir a better life, and give back to his community.
Many sources define faith as a belief in something not based upon proof, an intangible trust that a person holds close to their heart despite inconclusive evidence. This notion of faith depicts both ones wishes that their favorite sports team will win a match tomorrow and a hope that they will return safely from distant travels. Many also use this same term – “Faith” – to describe an individual’s given religious beliefs. This notion of religious faith infers that faith in God is something exclusively spiritual and nonconcrete – a belief only supported by inexplicable ideas as opposed to facts and evidence. Yet, as one begins to examine faith further, they come to realize that faith reaches far beyond an individual’s spiritual experience. Although many classify faith as intangible and lacking in proof, religious faith is in fact a concrete reality of life that displays the emotional, physical, and experiential aspects of the human soul. In Proverbs 3: 1-12, the author exemplifies how the emotional, physical, and experiential aspects of faith should play out regularly in everyday life.
According to the Mariam- Webster dictionary salvation is, “deliverance from the power and effects of sin.” The concept of salvation is principal to Christianity. Looking at the history of Christianity, Jesus Christ is known as the savior, which is what spring the Christian movement. The religion of Christianity began and contined because Christians see Jesus as someone who brings God’s salvation to the people. When it comes to Christianity there is no real definition of salvation although it is very important to the religion. The meaning of salvation remains unknown exactly. When Adam and Eve went against, man and God became separated through sin. Death alone would not be enough to cover all the evils on sin. Sacrifice offered in the right way can pay for our sin. We work all our life to pay for the sins we are born with. Jesus Christ came and offered us the pure everlasting sacrifice, which is his death, and resurrection which would remove all debt of sin.
The history of Eastman Kodak begins George Eastman wanted to simplify photography, so that everyone can enjoy capturing special moments and just want to limit this craft to trained professionals. George Eastman started on this quest in 1878; he was one of the first to demonstrate the convenience of dry plates. With dry plates, photographers would be able to expose and develop pictures when they wanted or needed to which made it more convenient, dry plates then went into mass production the following year in 1879 (Kodak n.d.) From there George Eastman continued to find ways to get photography into the hand of the people. After his demonstration of dry plates he then went on to invent the first roll holder for negative film and in1885 he invented the first transparent photographic film known as “roll film” that we know today. After this invention in 1888 Eastman Company changed its name to Kodak and produced a camera that can be used by everyone but it wasn’t until 1900 when he introduced the first of the famous Brownie Camera’s that made it financially affordable for virtually everyo...
Levi's has always tried to minimize the impact culture has on its ability to produce standardized products and campaigns. This is done to achieve economies of scale and a higher quality but cultural differences can be very important in the global and domestic markets. The characteristics of a particular cultural group will affect the type of products it desires and how they purchase it and use it. From the 1950s to the 1980s Levis was the image of rebellion and counter culture with public icons such as Elvis and Marlon Brando publically seen wearing the brand. This helped in giving the brand an image of originality and authenticity. But what Levis failed to grasp was that culture changes through time and consumer behaviour and choices change along with it. The rap culture which began in 1992 brought about new trends of loose baggy clothes. Levi's which sold straight tapered jeans failed to meet the needs of its consumer market who demanded loose baggy jeans which were considered as "cool" at the time. This demand was fulfilled by competitor brands such as JNCO, Kickwear and Boss etc who were quick to grab on to Levi's market share with products which were more suited to the younger generation. Even the rebellious image of Levis was taken by other brands like Diesel and Pepe.

Christianity is a faith based on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Fisher, 1991) Christianity is a one God religion as presented in the New Testament. Today, Christianity and the church are culturally diverse, even in the aspects of race. It is even said that Sunday mornings is the most segregated time in the world. There is one central belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, all Christians can come to this conclusion. Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and that we are all under the judgment of God because we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Other religions may often depict that it is only necessary to do some good when it comes to God in order to get into heaven. However, Christianity is the only religion that supports the teachings of salvation by grace. Meaning that our efforts, sincerity, and good works alone will not guarantee us a place in heaven, but instead it is our faith in what Christ did on the cross along with obeying the gospel, and living faithfully until his return that will place us there. Followers of Jesus Christ were persecuted, but by 380 CE, despite strong opposition, Christianity became the official religion of the vast Roman Empire (Fisher, 1991) At least three things can derive from Christianity; a set of beliefs, the way of life and a community of people. Christ is the Greek form of the Hebrew word "Messiah", meaning "anointed one". Christianity originally developed as a part of Judaism. Jesus was a Jew. It is said that he lived from about 3 BC to 30 AD. He lived and taught in Palestine, to the Jews. Christianity also teaches that God created the universe and all that is in it. While we as humans have both physi...

I was unsure of what Faith and Reason were; I say that, because Faith and Reason seem to have the illusion of spiritual meanings and concepts, thus I could not accept the idea that a course of this nature would be taught in college. For me Faith and Reason express a person’s ideals, beliefs and theories on life. According to Webster’s Dictionary, faith and reason are defined as; faith being a belief and trust in and loyalty to God; fanciful or empty assumption. The images that we have come to express are not far from what the rest of the world has expressed or defined. As you continue to read my theories and ideas on the issue of Faith and Reason, you may come to understand the type of person that I am, and possibly understand how and why I believe as I do.

School prayer, in the context of religious liberty, is state-sanctioned or mandatory prayer by students in public schools. Depending on the country and the type of school, state-sponsored prayer may be required, permitted, or prohibited. Countries which prohibit or limit school prayer often differ in their reasons for doing so: In the United States, school prayer cannot be required of students in accordance with the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
The author’s main argument is the failure of moral theology to focus on the everyday ethical issues confronting Christians, while his main aim is the usefulness of social anthropology to moral theology. The author wants a strong (er) relationship or connection between moral theology, i.e. ethics, and anthropology.
