Investigating Two Types of Business Organizations
Introduction:
In this assignment I shall be discussing my views on two different
types of businesses. The businesses that will be discussed are a sole
trader and a partnership. I have chosen two separate businesses, which
are both located outside the borough of Enfield. The first is a Sole
Trader, 'Mario's Barbers'. The owner of the business is Mario Poliviou
he is the employer of my brother-in-law Vas Demetri, so when I asked
Vas about what kind of business I should report about he simply
replied, "why not a barber". Mario was very helpful considering his
shop is located in the heart of Watford. I spent about 15 minutes
talking to Mario where he provided me with some valuable information.
For the partnership I decided to question my dads bosses because there
close to the family. My dad, George Matheou, took me to his workplace
a week ago. I had to take my Saturday off to travel up to the "West
Point Hotel" which is located in the West End near Hyde Park and
Madame Tussauds. The hotel is still being built up as we speak. It's
already the size of a two ordinary hotels, but Sanjeev and Tajil
Richardson (Georges bosses) have bought out the building next door to
transform it to apartments, I think they are established businessmen.

Sole Trader
A sole trader is a business that is owned and controlled by one
person, as the business is more commonly known as, a 'one man
business'. The business is either owned by private individuals for
example friends and family, this is called the private sector, or by

It boosts the company’s goals while the lack of any relationship with the workers may lead to losses in the business. Most managers rarely know that they are looked up to by many employees and, as such, should be careful with the actions they take. Lee b. Bolman & Terrence E. Deal, the authors of the book The Reframing Organizations, point out that the kind of measures taken in the business influences the employees acts and thoughts. In particular, this book gives insight to managers on how to relate to their subordinates. The discussion is carried out on the three parts of the book that highlight the missteps taken by managers as they try to improve their businesses.
An organizational analysis is an important tool to become familiar with how medical businesses and organizations are able to meet standards of care, provide services for the community and provide employment to health care providers. There are many different aspects to evaluate in an organizational analysis. This paper will describe these many aspects and apply the categories to the University Medical Center (UMC) as the organization being analyzed.
There used to be a time when zoos used to be full of animals. A time when extinction was not a problem. That was the past. Today, zoos all around the world are missing many animals such as the African elephant or the dodo bird. All of these wonderful animals became extinct because we were careless enough to let them all die. World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is an organization that is trying to prevent extinction from happening. WWF is an environmental organization dedicated to “protecting the world’s wildlife and wetlands” ("World Wildlife Fund"). It is one of the largest private supported conservation organizations in the world, with support from one million members in just the United States. WWF was formed on September 11, 1961 in Morges, Switzerland by Sir Peter Scott. It originally worked by fundraising and providing grants to existing non-governmental organizations. As more resources became available, its operations expanded into other areas such as the preservation of biological diversity. This organization is mostly volunteer-led. Volunteers of all ages are welcome at WWF, whether it is a student looking for volunteer opportunities or an adult looking to help animals. WWF also offers internships for college students who are looking to gain experience for their jobs. Not only does WWF help protect the environment, it also helps protect endangered species and spaces like national parks. WWF saves the animals through varieties of programs, including “education, habitat conservation and increasing the capacity of local governments and people within the endangered animals’ home” ("World Wildlife Fund"). Exploring the Types of Business Organisations There are two Business Sectors: Public Sector These are businesses owned and run by the government. Some examples of Services provided in the public sector are the postal service, schools, colleges, housing environment, some bus and train services, fire, police, ambulance and local justice and social services. Their method of raising capital is different as Private Sector businesses have to raise their own capital e.g. their own money, a bank loan etc. The Public Sector business can get the money required from the Treasury or from local rates.

The Different Ways Organizations Can Be Structured and Operated There are four major ways a company - organization can be structured and operate. P.C.G (o) Ltd I would dare say that is structured and operates with the functional structure. In order to make it clear and understandable I am analyzing here below the four ways that organizations can structure and operate. We will observe that all four structures have there advantages and disadvantages. Key Features of a Range of Commercial and Non-Commercial and Commercial Organizations An evaluation of the key features of a range of commercial and non- commercial organisations to illustrate differences in their funding and their business objectives PRIVATE SECTOR (Commercial) Private sector are companies owned by a particular group of people they mainly not government companies, the owners are individuals and can range from small one-person businesses to large multinational corporations who they main mission of the organisation is to generate profit and providing excellent service to their customers. Their other main objectives is to produce goods or services that satisfy their customer needs, most business organisations owned and controlled by private individuals strive to make and improve profits. Public Sector (non-commercial) Non-commercial organisations can either be in the public or voluntary sector mainly their objectives is to provide service that is in the public interest. Some services may be provided free at the point of use, such as the tourism concern organisation they work with people in order to promote tourism that benefit their communities their also work with the tourism industry encourage them to put fair trade principles into practice, the public sectors don't have shareholders but are financially supported through tax or the contribution of the public. What each of the following terms mean and giving examples of each from the Travel and Tourism industry.
Sole tradership is when the business is fully owned and managed by one person, though others can be employed to help run the business. As the sole traders only financial income is from the business and/or bank loan, they do not have the resources to expand and cover regional or national areas. These types of businesses are located in the small business sector and usually cover local areas. Such businesses could be hairdressers, corner shops or market stalls etc. Sole traderships have unlimited liability so if the business fails to pay its debts the financial responsibility falls on the owner/s to pay the debts in full even if they have to sell their business, personal possessions and assets.
The definition of a sole proprietorship is essentially a business that is run by one person and owned by that person as well. Specifically, a sole proprietorship is separated from the other business entities because of the specific the legal dynamics between the business and the owner of the business. Moreover, because of this factor, sole proprietorships are usually easy to both form, maintain as well as dissolve if need be. In a New York Times article, the authors expressed that small businesses are typically sole proprietorships and as such, this is why it was selected as the business entity (1). Furthermore, the aforementioned reasons allowed for a rather rapid decision on the basis that with this entity, there is an ability of the owner to run it how they see fit.
When the buzzword of business model was very active and reactive during the internet boom, many individuals did not understand the concept of the proper business model for the proper business (Magretta, 2002). When not utilizing the right type of model for the organization, the model will be misused and distorted (Magretta, 2002). Understanding the traditional organization and learning organization, will allow an organization to determine which time of organization they desire the most.
According to Hatch and Cunliffe (2006), there are three major perspectives about the study of organization theory (OT): modern, symbolic interpretive, and postmodern. Each of these perspectives comes with its own assumptions and methodologies. Hatch and Cunliffe provided an introduction text about the concepts and characteristics of the three OT perspectives. Tsoukas and Knudsen also compiled a comprehensive handbook summarizing all facets of the meta-theoretical perspectives. In this post the writer will discuss the basic concepts of three perspectives, present Hatch and Cunliffe’s reasons why a multiple perspectives approach to organization theory is important, and compare Tsoukas and Knudsen’s introduction to the Hatch and Cunliffe introduction in their books.
The world of business has undergone radical and dramatic changes in the last decade changes that present extraordinary challenges for the contemporary manager. A manager is an organizational member who is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the activities of the organization so that the goals can be achieved. According to a widely referenced study by Henry Mintzberg, managers serve three primary roles: interpersonal, informational, and decision-making. Management is process of administrating and coordinating resources effectively and efficiently in an effort to achieve the goals of the organization.
