Letter to the Governor
Dear Mr. Governor,
I wish to complain about your recent decision to impose an
embarrassing school uniform upon the students of Bosworth College,
which is supposed to be a school where expression is encouraged. Yet
imposing a school uniform will shatter the students self expression.
As a student of the college I am shocked at the thought of being told
what to wear. Isn't enough that we are told what to do, what not to
do, where to go, and when to go, but making the students wear what
they are told to will induce more people trying to revolt against the
school.
Yes I understand the arguments for a uniform: it reduces
discrimination, gives students less things to worry about, it gives
people a sense of unity and equality to the students. I also know that
83% of parents prefer uniform because it is smarter and cheaper then
the designer clothes the students always want to wear, and is more
suitable and sensible then the low cut, revealing clothes that the
teenage girls want to wear and the over expensive clothes which have a
brand name plastered over them all what the teenage lads want to wear
all the time. The uniforms would make students look more organised
especially to the teachers, and would give the students an identity,
which would be recognised out of school and make the students more
identifiable if they are truanting during lesson time.
But in reality the majority of students in schools around Britain are
against school uniform and it's the students that should decide if
they want a uniform or not, the parents don't have to go around all
day in them, neither do the teachers of governors but the students,
and they are the ones who don't want a uniform. Uniforms may reduce
While Martin Luther King Jr. was imprisoned in Birmingham Jail King wrote his “Letter from Birmingham Jail”. In the “Letter from Birmingham Jail”, King responds to the eight clergymen about the injustice and problems in society that he and his race face. He also tells the clergymen about non-violent direct action and how he and his people have waited too long by saying “Justice too long delayed is justice denied” (par. 11), and that action must be taken in order for them to fight for their goal of racial equality and instill peace in society once more. In the letter “Letter from Birmingham Jail” King also says, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” (par. 4), because if there is unjust behavior anywhere, others may think that

By making children follow authority, they are taught maturity and how to cope with different angles of life in a mature fashion. Clothing restrictions will help kids become more successful and approachable adults in the future.
"Dress Code!" MasterFILE Complete. Educational Leadership, Dec.-Jan. 2014-2015. Web. 18 Feb. 2016. This article comes from the point of view of a school principal Thomas R. Hoerr. Hoerr starts of with a comment that was made to him about a young girl and what she was wearing. The comment referred to her undergarments. The author continues to explain the two points he learned, and because of those points, he made his school a casual place. The dress code he established only proclaims to be “neat and clean.” The author saw no problem until the attire came so close as to be dressing at the beach, so he conducted a meeting with his staff and decided something should be said. When the author wrote the work dress guidelines, he got the input of the teachers and what should be expected by each guideline. However, the author only sent out the draft to people who had worked with him for fifteen or more years, so the question arose that the world is changing and he needed opinions from younger teachers. When he received feedback, he was questioned on if some codes really made a difference, and he made some changes. Next Hoerr tells his readers that when they give a restriction on something, they must have a rational reason why. Hoerr’s reason was that the school staff needed to have a professional experience, which make since because some students might not take their teacher seriously if he or she is dressed for bed. This article uses logos by appealing to logic on
Although dress codes promote safety there are some negative affects of it. Dress codes don’t prepare kids for the jobs in the future. “Some employers—some dotcom companies, for example—care less about how their employees dress and more about their work.” (Wilder 4) Even though a lot of jobs don’t require dress
If there is a dress code it should go the same for everyone. Dress codes are
While the dress code for men and women are different there is a common set of guidelines. These guidelines include the use of plain durable fabric that is of one color, and the replacement of buttons with hook and eyes. Men are expected to wear dark pants, dark socks, dark shoes, a plain shirt, a straw hat in the summer, and a felt hat in the winter. While women are expected to wear plain single-colored dresses no shorter than the calves with a black or white apron and a hat to cover their
Demoss helps us evaluate how much of our self confidence is connected to our clothing and what other people think about what we wear throughout several sections of this book. Demoss covers three life principles that determine why we wear what we wear. The first principal covered in this book is ownership, Demoss talks about how modern women justify their immodest clothing by saying its their body and they can wear what they want, when in reality your body belongs to God. The second life principal covered in this book is lordship, Demoss explains this by mentioning modern societies belief that you should have the choice of what you can wear, this is an idea that goes against the Bible and shows that you aren’t allowing the Lord to control of every aspect of your life. The final life principal of The Look is citizenship, this principal states that we are to be citizens of the Kingdom of God and not followers of the world for every aspect of our lives including the clothes that we wear.
Dear Purnima, I am afraid I am living in odd times. In a minute, the countries across the globe are getting panicky over Global warming due to several factors like deforestation, increasing carbon emissions alongside the fast rate of industrialization along with the resulting destruction of Ozone layer resulting in rising sea-level, river pollutions due to the effluents being moved into by the chemical plants over the stream banks ultimately causing the exploitation of rich history of water wealth like bass, mangroves along with other such rich variety of bacteria, shrinking glaciers, a few intellectuals as you are taking on cudgels from the environmentalists. Deforestation for the benefit of design of hydro electric projects, urbanization
Every morning students are faced with the decision of what to wear. However, many students automatically have to rule things out because of the dress code policy at their school. Dress codes constantly restrict students from being themselves and having control of their body and what they put on it. It says in the constitution, we have the right to express ourselves without being oppressed and punished. Some might say they have plenty of room to express themselves, but in reality they don't.
Notwithstanding the fact that society today likes to dress according to the fashion trends. Some of the most popular trends are ripped jeans, crop tops, tight fitted shirts, off the shoulder tops, and bralets. All of these fashion trends are most of the time the only type of clothing you find in stores and often times are the clothes people want too wear. However, all of these popular fashion trends would be dress code because they all break the 5 universal rules of dress code. The universal rules of dress code are no see through/revealing clothing or exposed midriffs, no exposed undergarments, attire cannot display offensive slogans or symbols, shorts and skirts must be at least fingertip length, and no spaghetti-strap tops.
The evidence brought to the surface can define if the act was really sexual harassment or consensual. Either way this is one process that the college have adopted to handle the
Many problems are brought up about bra straps showing, too short of shorts, and even wearing leggings. Although dress codes have been a subject of contention, it has recently prompted a major accretion in protests against attire rules. We as a society shouldn’t focus on something so small. Instead, we should stop targeting females for what they feel comfortable in and let us express our individuality like males get too. Many protests have criticized the dress code as sexist and that it targets females by body-shaming and blames us for promoting sexual harassment.
Clothing is a way people express that personality and today has a deeper influence and the life of people posses more than just frivolous reasons for existing. Everyone should have the right to wear what they want and what suits them who gives which allows them
