Colonel Stauffenberg uses quick thinking to react to situations in which immediate action must be taken. For example, at the beginning of the movie, although he is badly wounded due to the surprise attack on the German base in Africa, he quickly gets up, finds a jeep and tries to escape. As well, he helps another fellow soldier and attempts to save his life by carrying him into the jeep. This clearly depicts Stauffenberg’s intelligence because it shows that although he was under pressure and it could have been a matter of life or death, he quickly thought through the situation, understood what he needed to do to survive and enacted these ideas as soon as possible. This shows that he is able to respond to situations well by thinking through his possibilities in a limited period of time.
Colonel Stauffenberg shows that he in fact acquires complex problem-solving skills. At the first cladenstine meeting, the higher-ranked officals focused on ways to kill Hitler, but did not bother thinking about what will happen to Nazi Germany after he dies. However, Stauffenberg brings up the idea that they must back up this plan with another, such as getting rid of the SS, to free Germany from Nazi control. Stauffenberg understands that whether Hitler or the SS is in power, Germany will still not be able to redeem its sacredness and freedom. He proposes the resolution of changing the Valkyrie Operation and making it seem as though the SS is trying to take over Germany by killing Hitler. This plan would take down the Führer and the SS simultaneously. ...ng skills are extremely commendable as his arguments clearly show that he is sensitive to others’ needs and he shows concern for their well-being. He states his arguments in ways that it tells the followers by following his beliefs, it will ultimately bring happiness to their lives and help free Germany from Nazi control. For example, when trying to persuade General Fellgiebel, he promises him high authority in the new Germany government, as well as freedom. This shows that he is able to understand and consider what others want and use this to make his negotiations stronger and more powerful. Also, Colonel Stauffenberg has excellent interpersonal skills, which shows that he is outgoing and friendly. He confidently approaches many soldiers throughout the movie and is able to persuade them to help with the plan. This shows that he has excellent communication skills.

His book Black Hawk Down A Story of Modern War a world wide bestseller that spent more than a year in the New York Times bestseller list and was a finalist for the National Book Award. Bowden also worked on the script for Black Hawk Down, a film version of the book, directed by Ridley Scott. Bowden is also the writer of the bestseller Killing Pablo The Hunt for the World's Greatest Outlaw in 2001, which tells the story of the hunt for Colombian drug lord billionaire Pablo Escobar. He is the author of Doctor Dealer published in 1987, Bringing the Heat made in1994, Our Finest Day made in 2002, and also Finders Keepers 2002. Bowden writes for to major American magazines often. He is also an add-on professor at Loyola College, where he teaches creative writing and journalism. He was born In St. Louis, Missouri, in 1951 and Bowden grew up in Maryland where he attended Loyola College and graduated with a B.A in English.
The plot of the movie “Blade Runner” becomes unrevealed till the end of the movie. Many assumptions about the plot and the final of the movie appear in the spectator’s mind, but not one of these assumptions lasts long. Numerous deceptions in the plot grip the interest of the audience and contribute for the continuing interest to the movie eighteen years after its creation. The main character in the movie is Deckard- the Blade Runner. He is called for a special mission after his retirement, to “air up” four replicants who have shown flaws and have killed people. There are many arguments and deceptions in the plot that reveal the possibility Deckard to be a replicant. Roy is the other leading character of the movie. He appears to be the leader of the replicants- the strongest and the smartest. Roy kills his creator Tyrell. The effect of his actions fulfils the expectation of the spectator for a ruthless machine.
Orson Welles is a legend in itself. He is a dedicated director, actor, and artist. An artist in the sense he directed, produced, and was the star in the film Citizen Kane.' The film won an award for best screenplay that was co-written by Welles. Citizen Kane' brings into light many social problems between countries, relationships, and also between competing newspaper companies. The film was a big controversy when it was first released on a delay (because of personal conditions with W.R. Hearst). It brings into light how a newspaper should react and also brings the corruption of politics. War was breaking out in Europe and throughout the entire film Kane states there will be no war. He ignores the fact people are being killed, tortured, and rounded up like livestock because of Adolf Hitler. The film was released on May 1, 1941 a few days before Joseph Stalin becomes premier of Russia, a day before Nazis took over Netherlands, and eight days before the English army breaks the German codes.
Living in the crumbled remains of Germany, or the Weimar Republic, in the 1920’s was a dismal existence. Hyperinflation was rampant and the national debt skyrocketed as a result of the punishing features of the Treaty of Versailles. During the depression, however, a mysterious Austrian emerged from the depths of the German penal system and gave the desperate German people a glimpse of hope in very dark times. He called for a return to “Fatherland” principles where greater Germany was seen as the center of their universe with zealous pride. Under Hitler’s leadership, Nazi Germany rapidly grew and expanded, continually approaching the goal of world domination and the “Thousand-Year Reich” that Hitler promised the German people. Only a few years later, Nazi Wehrmacht soldiers could be seen marching the streets from Paris to Leningrad (St. Petersburg, Russia). The German Empire, however, like all other expansive empires, had its limits and integral components such as resources, manpower, and industrial capacity began to fall in short supply further crippling the Nazi war machine. Basically, by 1944, “Nazi Germany’s fundamental problem was that she has conquered more territory than she could defend” (Ambrose, 27). Hitler conquered a vast area and vowed to defend every single inch of his empire with every last drop of blood at his disposal. As Frederick the Great warned, “He who defends everything, defends nothing” (Ambrose, 33). It is interesting to study any empire’s rise and fall because similarities are always present, even with some nations today promising to fight the evil, when it reality, it might be becoming what it vows to fight.

The Schutzstaffel or SS was created in 1925 by the Nazi party to protect Adolf Hitler and other important Nazi leaders. Heinrich Himmler was appointed leader of the SS by Hitler in 1929. The SS were racial elites with profound loyalty to Hitler and the promotion of Germany. (SS, 2013) In order to become a member of the SS all candidates had to endure selections based on their racial ancestry and support of the Nazi party. In Nazi Germany the SS was responsible for security identification of ethnicity, settlement and population policy and intelligent collection and analysis. The film Citizen Kane, directed by Orson Welles, is a great example of how a man can be corrupted by wealth. Through the characters in the film we can observe how Charles Foster Kane, an idealistic man with principles, can be changed and misguided by wealth and what accompanies wealth. The film takes places during the late 19th century and early 20th century, a time in American history when the world is changing and wealth is a great power to change it with. Through the story telling of Kane’s life we are able to see how wealth changes, not only Kane’s ideals, but his actions and how he perceives the world.
The protagonist in the story, Sanger Rainsford, exhibits many traits and characteristics. One of these traits is that he is quick-witted; this means that he is able to act without involving a lot of thinking and needing to take time to plan what he is doing. Rainsford showed this trait when he came up with ideas that got him out of situations quickly. One example of this was when he fell off of the ship into the ocean, instead of wasting his time and energy chasing after the boat he made the quick decision to swim towards the shore in the direction he had heard the gunshots coming from. While in the forest being hunted by Zaroff he had many opportunities to demonstrate this trait. Many times when he thought he had lost the General, it turned out that he was very close behind him. Being able to use his quick-thinking and make fast decisions helped save him in the long run. Sanger Rainsfords determination is demonstrated by his commitment to reach his goal. Despite, the plan being common knowledge to individuals who have studied Western military, there is much controversy over why the plan failed for the Germans. In recent decades the main question over Schlieffen’s war plan, whether the plan was meant to be used as a military strategy or not. Since, the reunification of Germany in 1989, document that were once lost are now resurfacing, and with more information, there are more arguments about the reason the Schlieffen Plan failed. German citizens were talked into participating or believing in the most extreme of things, like violent pogroms, deportations, attacks, and executions. Through the novel’s perspicacity of the Third Reich, readers can see how Hitler’s reign was a controversial time period summed up by courage, extremity, and most important of all, loyalty. The main purpose of the book was to emphasize how far fear of Hitler’s power, motivation to create a powerful Germany, and loyalty to the cause took Germany during the Third Reich. During the Third Reich, Germany was able to successfully conquer all of Eastern Europe and many parts of Western Europe, mainly by incentive.

Heinz Guderian (1888-1954) was born in Kulm, West Prussia (now Chełmno, Poland). His family, like many Prussian’s, were historically landed gentry and lawyers with his father being the only soldier with whom he was closely related. Guderian, being the son of a soldier, moved around fairly extensively during his youth until he himself joined the military in 1907. During the First World War Guderian served as a signals officer, giving him insight into how technology could be used to facilitate military actions. Post-war Guderian found himself in the reduced 100,000-man German Army (Reichswehr) where he slowly began to develop his ideas of mobile warfare, gathering ideas from fellow military theorists J.F.C. Fuller, B.H. Liddell Hart, and Charles de Gaulle. This culminated in Guderian’s book Achtung – Panzer! which outlined his ideas on armor and aircraft in modern warfare. Guderian would eventually get to test his theories in action with the onset of the Second World War, making dramatic advances through Poland, France, and Russia. Perhaps because of his place as one of first to espouse both the theoretical and practical implementations of blitzkrieg he is sometimes referred to as the father of blitzkrieg and modern military theory.
