Intelligence

Colonel Stauffenberg uses quick thinking to react to situations in which immediate action must be taken. For example, at the beginning of the movie, although he is badly wounded due to the surprise attack on the German base in Africa, he quickly gets up, finds a jeep and tries to escape. As well, he helps another fellow soldier and attempts to save his life by carrying him into the jeep. This clearly depicts Stauffenberg’s intelligence because it shows that although he was under pressure and it could have been a matter of life or death, he quickly thought through the situation, understood what he needed to do to survive and enacted these ideas as soon as possible. This shows that he is able to respond to situations well by thinking through his possibilities in a limited period of time.

Colonel Stauffenberg shows that he in fact acquires complex problem-solving skills. At the first cladenstine meeting, the higher-ranked officals focused on ways to kill Hitler, but did not bother thinking about what will happen to Nazi Germany after he dies. However, Stauffenberg brings up the idea that they must back up this plan with another, such as getting rid of the SS, to free Germany from Nazi control. Stauffenberg understands that whether Hitler or the SS is in power, Germany will still not be able to redeem its sacredness and freedom. He proposes the resolution of changing the Valkyrie Operation and making it seem as though the SS is trying to take over Germany by killing Hitler. This plan would take down the Führer and the SS simultaneously. ...ng skills are extremely commendable as his arguments clearly show that he is sensitive to others’ needs and he shows concern for their well-being. He states his arguments in ways that it tells the followers by following his beliefs, it will ultimately bring happiness to their lives and help free Germany from Nazi control. For example, when trying to persuade General Fellgiebel, he promises him high authority in the new Germany government, as well as freedom. This shows that he is able to understand and consider what others want and use this to make his negotiations stronger and more powerful. Also, Colonel Stauffenberg has excellent interpersonal skills, which shows that he is outgoing and friendly. He confidently approaches many soldiers throughout the movie and is able to persuade them to help with the plan. This shows that he has excellent communication skills.
