Throughout history, the question of “Does the end ever justify the means?” can be brought up and argued against many different political situations and standpoints, such as the current situations with Nelson Mandela and Edward Snowden. The most popular, and most likely argued, situation is Adolf Hitler’s siege for power in Germany. Many argue that he had purely blamed the Jewish Community due to them being rich in a time of poverty, while others believed he had just reasons for blaming them (American-Israeli Cooperative Enterprise). Hitler’s “end” did not truly justify the “means.” This standpoint can be brought up in the facts that are displayed throughout the whole of World War II. While it is believed that he did not truly justify his reason for killing the large mass of people, he was able to do so by the use of propaganda and certain forms of rhetoric. These can all be expressed through his speeches. The first speech that Adolf Hitler began to use rhetoric was his speech at Salzburg in August of 1920. This speech was the first of many (Hitler and Nazis, Statements Concerning Jews and Judaism). The cultural influences of Adolf Hitler began with his experiences with the Jewish Community. He had believed that due to them being heavily unaffected by the first World War, they were the cause of Germany’s downfall during it (Trueman). Lastly, the ultimate question of “Does the end ever justify the means?” will be answered with proper reference to reasons toward the answer.
The style of rhetoric was used in multiple speeches created by Adolf Hitler to convince the German people to blame the Jewish Community for the downfall of Germany in World War I. The first speech to be analyzed is his speech delivered in Salzburg, Germany on t...

Kershaw later depicts a comment made by Hitler discussing the dire need to deport German Jews, away from the ‘Procterate,’ calling them “dangerous ‘fifth columnists’” that threatened the integrity of Germany. In 1941, Hitler discusses, more fervently his anger towards the Jews, claiming them to responsible for the deaths caused by the First World War: “this criminal race has the two million dead of the World War on its conscience…don’t anyone tell me we can’t send them into the marshes (Morast)!” (Kershaw 30). These recorded comments illustrate the deep rooted hatred and resentment Hitler held for the Jewish population that proved ultimately dangerous. Though these anti-Semitic remarks and beliefs existed among the entirety of the Nazi Political party, it didn’t become a nationwide prejudice until Hitler established such ideologies through the use of oral performance and
It is evident that World War II still affects the world today, but are these repercussions the aftermath of a master plan for destruction? The Nazi Party and Hitler were the most significant characters for World War II and thus, they truly made history, however, they made it worse. Many different causes for this devastation have been concluded starting with the end of World War I and the harsh blameful Treaty of Versailles, the new found control in Germany, and the Great Depression; even though was most harmful in America, affected the world in its entirety. Are these the factors that led to the ‘Final Solution’, are these the problems that encouraged Hitler to seize the world? There were many elements prior to World War II leading to the annihilation of Jews, Hitler’s experiences in World War I greatly influenced his outlook on warfare and the Jewish, another predominate factor was the approval of building the camps and chambers in Germany, and lastly the documented intentions for the ‘Final Solution’.
The mention of the name Adolf Hitler automatically recalls one of the most hate filled and destructive periods in the history of humanity. More people died in World War 2 than in any war ever fought, but it wasn't merely soldiers; innocent civilians were persecuted for nothing more than their views of the government or for their religion. The specific focus here will be to deal with Hitler's hatred of the Jews, and how it progressed in the years before the war. The other point to bring up from this time was the Nazi's use of propaganda to rally their people and deceive the foreign community from strongly intervening in their plans.
“ Hitler used propaganda and manufacturing enemies such as Jews and five million other people to prepare the country for war.” (Jewish Virtual Library), This piece of evidence shows Hitler’s attempt of genocide toward the Jewish race a...
“The modern German anti-Semitism was based on racial ideology which stated that the Jews were subhuman while the “Aryan” race was ultimately superior,” ("Nazi Propaganda"): (Goebbels)“I beg you and particularly those of you who carry the cross throughout the land to become somewhat more serious when I speak of the enemy of the German people, namely, the Jew, ("Nazi Propaganda"). “Streicher declared: "You must realize that the Jew wants our people to perish. That is why you must join us and leave those who have brought you nothing but war, inflation, and discord",” ("Nazi Propaganda"). “We know that Germany will be free when the Jew has been excluded from the life of the German people,” ("Ministry Of Public Enlightenment"). After Goebbels 's started to target the Jew’s with mean propaganda: It made blaming Jews a lot easier for Germany’s
When Hitler was questioned as to why he was partaking in a crusade to destroy the Jews, he declared that he was ‘only continuing what Christianity had preached and practiced for 2000 years’. This clearly indicates that although the feelings of contempt for the Jews changed from a theological concern to a racial matter, the Nazis were influenced by early Christian anti-Judaism and were able to manipulate negative Christian attitudes and portrayals of Jews to justify their plan to annihilate the Jews of Europe.
Synopsis – Hitler’s Willing Executioners is a work that may change our understanding of the Holocaust and of Germany during the Nazi period. Daniel Goldhagen has revisited a question that history has come to treat as settled, and his researches have led him to the inescapable conclusion that none of the established answers holds true. Drawing on materials either unexplored or neglected by previous scholars, Goldhagen presents new evidence to show that many beliefs about the killers are fallacies. They were not primarily SS men or Nazi Party members, but perfectly ordinary Germans from all walks of life, men who brutalized and murdered Jews both willingly and zealously. “They acted as they did because of a widespread, profound, unquestioned, and virulent anti-Semitism that led them to regard the Jews as a demonic enemy whose extermination was not only necessary but also just.”1 The author proposes to show that the phenomenon of German anti-Semitism was already deep-rooted and pervasive in German society before Hitler came to power, and that there was a widely shared view that the Jews ought to be eliminated in some way from German society. When Hitler chose mass extermination as the only final solution, he was easily able to enlist vast numbers of Germans to carry it out.
Many religious conflicts are built from bigotry; however, only few will forever have an imprint on the world’s history. While some may leave a smear on the world’s past, some – like the homicide of Semitic people – may leave a scar. The Holocaust, closely tied to World War II, was a devastating and systematic persecution of millions of Jews by the Nazi regime and allies. Hitler, an anti-Semitic leader of the Nazis, believed that the Jewish race made the Aryan race impure. The Nazis did all in their power to annihilate the followers of Judaism, while the Jews attempted to rebel, rioted against the government, and united as one. Furthermore, the genocide had many social science factors that caused the opposition between the Jews and Nazis. Both the German economy and the Nuremberg Laws stimulated the Holocaust; nevertheless, a majority of the Nazis’ and Hitler’s actions towards Jews were because of the victims’ ethnicity.
“By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make a people see heaven as hell or an extremely wretched life as paradise,” Adolf Hitler once declared. In the lexicon, propaganda means “information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement...” (Dictionary.com). During World War 2, most of the countries exhibited some form of it because as Hitler explained, it could easily influence people, and they used it as a weapon of war. However, although propaganda in the Second World War was beneficial, it wasn’t a morally correct way to gain support from people for their countries.

Throughout the twenty and into the twenty first century, the world has seen much academic and historical reflection on the subject of the Holocaust. Scholars have avidly debated both the motives of the perpetrators and the inaction of the Jewish race during the Holocaust. Both the offenders and the offended have been criticized in one way or another for s variety of reasons. Daniel Jonah Goldhagen specifically looks at the perpetrators, the Germans, and argues that in fact, the Holocaust could only have taken place in Germany because of the German peoples’ great anti-Semitism.
This declaration was as surprising as the justification behind it, for on page 81, that neighbor explains, “‘I have more faith in Hitler than in anyone else. He alone has kept his promises, all his promises, to the Jewish people.’” This moment was something I could only describe as shocking, as it was the truth, or a crooked version of it. Hitler promised to exterminate the Jewish people
Hitler’s Nazi Regime/Party stood for the unification of all Germans in Germany, which also correlated with the abolishment of Jews. This is shown in the meeting between Hitler’s politicians, military leaders and commanders Hermann Goering, Reinhard Heydrich and Joseph Goebbels in 1938 known as “Jewish Ghettos Shall Have To Be Created”. “We have not come together merely to talk again, but to make decisions, and I implore the competent agencies t...
Adolf Hitler comes to control in Germany is because of the force of his words. He never uses the beast compel of a firearm; he basically weirds the capacity of his words to get what he needs. Hitler's utilization of manipulative force of words is ostensibly the best ever, ascending to control and getting a large portion of a nation to detest a solitary race. Furthermore, restricting conclusions can stray individuals from the first point; all other capable words must be pulverized to have a totally unprejudiced idea. Close to the start of the novel, Jewish books are singed in the interest of the Fuhrer in a gigantic blaze. The reason for the campfire is to annihilate the stories and words that restrict the lessons of Adolf Hitler, since he understands
In 1934, the death of President Hindenburg of Germany removed the last remaining obstacle for Adolf Hitler to assume power. Soon thereafter, he declared himself President and Fuehrer, which means “supreme leader”. That was just the beginning of what would almost 12 years of Jewish persecution in Germany, mainly because of Hitler’s hatred towards the Jews. It is difficult to doubt that Hitler genuinely feared and hated Jews. His whole existence was driven by an obsessive loathing of them (Hart-Davis 14).
