In the year 1973, is the year the world became modern and new. This year has a great significance and effect on the world because it was the year the invention of the cellphone (a portable device that can make and receive calls anywhere at any time) came about. Even though it was invented that year it wasn’t until 1983 in which it became available to the public to buy and own. In the year 2006, the number of cellphones that were sold was one billion worldwide and the number continues to rise with each passing year. With that said, as the years went by the cellphone went from a communication device to a helpful device that many cannot live without today. It is so helpful that it is used to save lives during emergencies. And the world is full of emergencies and we depend on tools to help us during them. A particular tool that is very useful during these tragedies is the cellphone, many will claim that a cellphone is not useful however they are a vital help in many emergency cases. A huge number of the world’s population has health problems. Some have medical treatment and other’s do not, but some may never know they have a health risk and/or problem. They are in danger of their lives so without help of professional’s what would they do in a time of a health related emergency? The cellphone talked about above can be used in situations like this. For example, a man in his late 60’s living alone and has a health problem related to all the unhealthy habits he has had in the past. After a while of sitting on the couch watching TV, he notices a pain in his left shoulder, keep in mind the man lives alone. The man ignores the pain but the pain becomes more intense and he feels a shortness of breath and a pain in his chest as well. So ... ... middle of paper ... ..., at any time, and in any form. They can be alike or exactly the same as written above. They can happen differently but the matter of fact is that cellphones help a lot during emergencies. Also just because you haven’t had an emergency yet; don’t think it won’t happen at all.
