Do you know what was the University Technology Mara ( UiTM ) contributes and its importance to the malays since 1956 until now ?.
From the beginning RIDA ( Rural Industrial Development ) established in august 1950, RIDA objective is to assist and train the malays in rural areas with potential for improving the economic. Then later RIDA is change it name to “ Dewan Latehan RIDA “ after that in 1966 it called “Maktab MARA”. After some transformation and upgrading processes is done “Maktab MARA” finally is called ITM ( Institude technology Mara ) it is built on the site of 300 acres in Shah Alam by Tun Abdul Razak. It peak On 26 August 1999 when our former prime minister Tun Dr.Mahatdir Mohammad announce that ITM will be called as UiTM ( University Technology Mara ) ,and automatically Yang Dipertuan Agong will be a chancellor of UiTM and Pro-Chancellor also set out below his highness. After UiTM have experience some modernization and changes, but UiTM still remain with it’s objectives to enhance and assure the integrity of uncertain native socioeconomic status.
In order to protect the special right of native so act 173 is formed by ministry of high -education to ensure our University Technology Mara can compete with the others university in Malaysia, According to the UiTM website “ act 173 provides guidelines for maintenance and smooth administration as well as other pertaining matters. The act also serves as an acknowledgement of the institution’s transition from an institute to a university, and the authority bestowed upon it to function like any other university. This includes the offering of courses of studies and the conferment of degrees at all levels. Earlier this year, we were surprised when University Technology Mara try being implicated into the political mire by someone who is not responsible, but these actions already objectionable and the whole University Technology Mara students will not agree, consistent with the act state in article 153, constitution. This is because the economic status of Bumiputra doesn’t achieve the target in New Economic Policy, including aspects, the ratio of the malays and non malays are still not balanced in economy. According Sabri Ahmad “Bumiputera right in this country have been taken one by one starting with 10% quota for MRSM and also Matrikulasi to non-bumiputera, the latest is opening 45% quota for non-bumiputera”. This all not about racism or justice but the our’s right of to be received to balanced and competed with others race, by establishing ITM or now it called UiTM as being the last fortress in defending the dignity of the malays nation.
It was also meant to campaign against and to end the outdated draconian law used by the Malaysian government in curbing the voices of criticism by violating her commitment to international conventions and treaties like International Bill of Rights at UN, for example.

...2003). It has become very clear, that we need shift our focus, Instead of focusing on the new technological advancements, we should focus on studying how the technology is used (Mishra & Koehler, 2003). The absence of a theoretically grounded basis for developing or understanding the integration of education and technology process may have an effect on this oversight (AAAS, 2001; Issroff & Scanlon, 2002).
In Malaysia, the United Malay National Organization (UMNO) became the dominant political force beginning in 1959. UMNO created an agreement with MCA (Malayan Chinese Association) and MIC (Malayan Indian Congress) together they formed the Barisan Nasional (National Front or BN) and since 1974 it has been the senior partner in a governing coalition. Since its formation as an independent state in 1963, Malaysia has never experienced a change in government. UMNO’s positions are attractive because they are important in Malaysia’s political and business life. Because UMNO leader has always served as Malaysia’s de facto prime minister, the party’s internal election is seen as the country’s real election. UMNO’s party apparatus often reflects the state’s apparatus, a fact that makes UMNO’s election even more alike with the country’s election.

The Bumiputra is the official collective term that groups together Malay, as well as the aboriginals of Sabah and Sarawak after the two regions formed Malaysia. It was established as an administrative category after the racial riots of 1969. That year, the frustration felt by the Malays for the harsh economic background, which saw the ethnic-Chinese occupying positions of power in the country’s economy, sparked violence in the “13th of May incident”. As a result, the government adopted the New Economic Policy (NEP), a series of affirmative action strategies meant to put “Malay first”. (Kheng, 2002) The Alliance was replaced by the National Front and the Constitution was amended to include citizenship, Malay as national language and Islam as official religion, as well as Bumiputra special rights. Interethnic class collaboration took the form of an informal economic collaboration that does not extend to social and political relationships. All Malays are legally defined as Muslims, and are part of the Bumiputra. Religious boundaries have played an important role in perpetuating practices of endogamy, which ensures maintaining ...

Long-run economic growth and the productivity of a population are tightly dependent, “growth of productivity is, in the end, almost the only thing that matters for the living standards of the population as a whole (Davies)”. Technology to the common man is just seen as a way to retrieve information easier and get work done quicker to make life easier. Most people who use technology in their daily life, do not realize the power technology has on economic progress of an economy. Many areas of economies are wildly understood and agreed upon by economists “but the future of technology on long-run growth” is one of the lesser developed concepts in economics today (Davies).

Under this legislation defines three principles as guidelines for Malaysian culture: that it is based on the cultures of indigenous people; that if elements from other cultures are judged suitable and reasonable they may be considered Malaysian culture; and that Islam will be an important part of national culture. Besides that, the Federal Constitution has been stated that all of the Malaysian guarantees have the freedom to practice his or her religion in peace and harmony. While religious freedom is officially guaranteed under the Malaysian constitution, therefore the tolerance of the religious in Malaysia made this country become a multi-religious and multi-racial society. Furthermore, the Malay language or Bahasa Malaysia is the national language, while English is the second most popular. Other languages include Chinese, Tamil, and etc. Most of the Malaysians are proficient in speaking, reading and writing in Malay even they are Chinese, Indians or any others, indigenous ethnic
