The United States vs. Denmark

The United States and Denmark are very different in so many ways, but they also have common aspects. Their educational systems, economies, life styles, cultures, and legal systems share differences as well as commonalities, although they are in different parts of the world.

The United States public education is regulated by the United States Department of Education. (1) They say children are required in most states to attend school from age six to eighteen, but some states allow students to leave school at the age of sixteen and seventeen.(1) The US has many private and public institutions of higher education competing against each other and according to the prominent international rankings 13 or 15 American colleges and universities are ranked among the top 20 in the world.(1) There is also some lower tuition, open admission policies, and shorter academic programs school called Community College.(1) Of most Americans twenty-five and older 84.6% finished high school, 52.6% attended a college, 27.2% finished college and got a bachelor's degree, and 9.6% went back to school and earned graduate degrees.(1)

The languages in the US are English (only) 225.5 million, Spanish, incl. Creole 34.5 million, Chinese 2.5 million, French, incl. Creole 2.0 million, Tagalog 1.5 million, Vietnamese 1.2 million, German 1.1 million, and Korean 1.1 million.(1) The religions that are taught and have belief in the US are 78.4% believe in Christianity, 51.3% Protestant denominations, 23.9% Roman Catholicism, 4.7%non Christian religions.(1) The leading non Christian faith were Judaism 1.7%, Buddhism 0.7%, Islam 0.6%, Hinduism 0.4%, and Unitarian Universalism 0.3%.(1) The survey also reported that 16.1% of Americans described themselves as agnostic...

...looking at the information I have researched, it appears that the United States and Denmark are just as much alike as they are different. The educational systems, economies, life styles, cultures, and legal systems of both countries are unique to each country as well as similar to each other.
