What is your view on the Islamic religion and culture? Did you know they are the fastest growing religion in the world today, with eighty-percent now developing outside the Arab world(Belt, Don) Today’s generation does not show much interest or knowledge of their own religion; let alone the Islamic people. Most people only expose themselves to information that matches their own opinions and beliefs. Instead of learning and exploring new things about the world they stick to what they know because it is easier and comfortable for them. The Islamic people live in different culture, have different beliefs, and live in a part of the globe that has turmoil in the world surrounding the Middle East and the Islamic faith; however it is imperative that we understand and respect their traditions. The paper examines exactly what Islam is, the relation between the Islam faith and Christian faith, and uncovering some aspects to their religion. Also, I will be hitting on the topic of the turmoil the Islam face in their surroundings of the Middle East and their Islamic faith.
First, it would be wise to understand what Islam is. The term, Islam, actually means “Submission to God.” Their principles of their religion might seem abnormal to a person not of the culture. From my understanding, the average Christians faith is not so much different than the Islam’s Faith. Islam people seem to have an intimate relationship to the same God worshipped by Christians and Jews. “Peace is the essence of Islam,” quoted by the brother of the late King Hussein, Prince EL Hassan Bin Talal of Jordan. Prince Hassan who led the world conference on religion and peace had spent the majority of his time building the connection between the Muslim world and the West...

... allows these criminal acts, and it's a small portion of participates that partake in terrorist activities. I have meant many Muslims in my life. I spent the last five years traveling the world. I have spent three deployments in the Middle East and Muslims can be some of the friendliest, most welcoming people on the planet. True Christians should not be frightened to form a relationship with a Muslim.
Muslims are part of this world just as we are. They can struggle with their faith just as we do. As Christians of this generation we should love them as our own. We should share the Gospel with each other, because we are all people of God. United States security and the vitality of our democracy all depend on how much American knows about Islam and if they understand their religious tradition that is becoming an overwhelming part of our religion and civic future.
Although there are some aberrations in Christianity and Islam, there are many more similarities between the two. Those who practice Christianity consider being Muslim taboo because they are said to have renounced Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity. Aside from that factor, most practices are equal. Sadly, most Muslims and Christians will never get along because in their eyes, the few differences are colossal enough to keep them divided. Each side is too blinded by the error of the others ways to see how analogous to one another they actually are.
After the terrorist attacks, they’ve brought worry and fear to many Americans in the past years and even up till today, They put blame on the Government for not increasing our security and privacy. All though it’s natural to think negative and believe the worst about Muslims after the horrific attacks, we need to at least give them a chance and move away from 9/11. Americans know little about the ways of being Islam.
First, Volf has accurately summarized core similarities between Christianity and Islam, highlighting six claims about God’s formal similarity between Muslims and Christians: 1) There is only one God, the one and only divine being, 2) God created everything that is not God, 3) God is radically different from everything that is not God, 4) God is good, 5) God commands that we love God with our whole being, and 6) God commands that we love our neighbors as ourselves (p. 110). Moreover, he describes another four areas of agreement between two faiths: 1) God is loves, 2) God is just, 3) God’s love encompasses God’s justice, and 4) Human being should love their neighbors as themselves (p. 158-159). Christians should listen to what God works and shows His love through Volf’s honestly desire to concentrate on the similarities for the peace and the common good. Second, Volf suggests considerable efforts into revealing obviously what the Qur’an asserts and denies about the Trinity, which is the most contentious issue between Christianity and Islam. According to his argument, there are five hostilities to the Trinity in the Qur’an: 1) God cannot have begotten a son, 2) God cannot have an associate, 3) God is not one of three divine beings, 4) God cannot be Christ,
Islam in America has historically been misunderstood, and this is due to the misconception of culture and religion as well as lack of education and incorrect portrayal in the media, which gives a skewed idea of Islam. Especially in the United States, Islam has been seen as the “terrorist religion” or a religion for the extremists and a religion in which freedom is not an option. Among the countless misconceptions, the basis of stereotypes by Americans is due to the mix up between religion and culture. Furthermore, the media only fuels fire to these misunderstandings and lack of factual information about Islam causing Americans to lash out on American Muslims without reason.

The culture of Islam has its positive aspects, as well as its negative aspects. Islam bestowed many unfortunate people the opportunity to gain more knowledge about their surroundings, and the adversities that they may face on a daily basis. Islam also created alliances, and trade contracts with other surrounding countries, allowing them to receive resources that other religions and groups could not envisage. However, to gain these privileges, Islam had to first fester the lives of many civilians that dared step in its path. Islam not only ruined the lives of people, but it ruined whole kingdoms. Many people felt an...
The Islamic tradition, as reflected in Naguib Mahfouz’s Zaabalawi, has over the course of history had an incredible impact on Arab culture. In Mahfouz’s time, Islamic practices combined with their political relevance proved a source of both great power and woe in Middle Eastern countries. As alluded to in Zaabalawi, Mahfouz asserts the fact that not all Muslims attain religious fulfillment through this common tradition, and other methods outside the scope of Islam may be necessary in true spiritual understanding.
Thomas W. Lippman gives an introduction to the Muslim world in the book Understanding Islam. He has traveled throughout the Islamic world as Washington Post bureau chief for the Middle East, and as a correspondent in Indochina. This gave him, in his own words, "sharp insight into the complexities of that turbulent region." However, the purpose of the book is not to produce a critical or controversial interpretation of Islamic scripture. It is instead to give the American layman an broad understanding of a religion that is highly misunderstood by many Americans. In this way he dispels many myths about "Muslim militants," and the otherwise untrue perception of Islamic violence. In this way the American reader will become more knowledgeable about an otherwise unfamiliar topic. However, the most significant element of Lippman’s book is that it presents Islam in a simple way that makes the reader feels his awareness rise after each chapter. This encourages him to continue learning about the world’s youngest major religion. Understanding Islam dispels many misconceptions about the Muslim world, and presents the subject in a way that urges his reader to further his understanding of Islam through continued study.
Islam and Christianity have a vast amount of similarities and differences. Islam searches for guidance from the Qur’an and Christianity depends on faith in Jesus. Islamic faith believes in the God, Allah. Above anything else, all religious Muslims obey Allah and his commandments to obtain peace. However, Christianity puts faith in Jesus who is the son of God.
...ly do not differentiate between the differences in ideals of a Muslim and a Muslim American. To an American, they are both evil, violent and capable of terrorist activity or condone such activity. It is also important that those in all aspects of media and literature understand the repercussions of the continued improper insinuation and image of what a “terrorist” being equal to a Muslim. The fact is, terrorism takes on many forms and is most dangerous in the form of blending in with the target. Once we have a better understanding of the existing and commonalities of the struggles Muslims have with other groups, such as the African Americans, we can begin to build a new relationship with the community. Once this is done, the American people will be able to enjoy a more secure environment and have a better understanding of what is truly dangerous and cause for alarm.
We started hearing about this issue in the Middle East first. The group that is very well known as Isis persecutes not only Christians, but also many of the other religions as well. Isis has committed many callous crimes in the world. From beheadings, the slaughter of children, kidnapping women and selling them as slaves, to making their own chemical weapons, Isis’ actions bring chills. It seems that Isis targets Christians the most. There have been many news reports about the

On the board on Monday morning, there were numbers one through five and they each had a religion written next to them. 1 was Hinduism, 2 was Christianity, 3 was Judaism, 4 was Buddhism, and I was lucky enough to get 5: Islam. Oh, I know so much about Islam culture and their religion, are you kidding? I don’t even know where Islam is. I’m just kidding, it’s not a country. There are many differences between Islam and the United states like our religion, clothes, and food, and becoming a Christian or a Muslim, but Islam is the second largest religion in the world, so it’s important to a lot of people. The followers of Islam are called Muslims. Becoming a Muslim is not an easy process. You must do a long list of tasks. After you become a Muslim you must do everything in your power to try to have a good Muslim lifestyle.
Although the fact that Muslims do concede that Jesus existed, they do not believe that he was the Child of God, as Christians believe he is. The Muslim just believe that he was an incredible prophet, alongside Moses and Abraham. Another major difference is both religions holy books are difference. Muslims have the Quran which was composed by Muhammad, who was their most recent prophet, and they believe it to be the latest expression of God. It is likewise said to be the complete word of God. Which is, they say, dissimilar to the Bible in which it was assembled by people so it may have mistakes. Also the Muslim call God 'Allah ', which is the Arabic word for God. Not at all like Christianity, in which believe are saved by confidence alone, Muslims are saved through works of which include: making a journey to Mecca at least once, praying at the assigned times every day, and doing other acts of kindness for individuals in need. After all those things Muslims may sound horrible. But they are really great and deferential peoples. While Christians, and most other peoples, believe that Muslims, and other religions, are all radical evil in peoples, Muslims are very respectful of
