Hong Kong is well known for its development throughout the city. However it’s a really small city where buildings and homes have to be built taller and smaller, in a size where 7.155 millions of people has to fit in. Therefore the construction process requires a specialist machine. Tower crane is the machine that saved lots of homeless people. This machine is used worldwide. It helps to construct anything that is tall or heavy, the height reaches hundred feet tall and could reach far. Not only it’s the life saving machine to build apartments, lift steels and concrete but it’s also a machine that has physics behind it.
Tower crane is constructed rather difficultly. It has lots of function that made it so unique. Firstly “counterweight” is the main function that relates to physics in terms of lever. It weights approximately 20 tons. The diagram above shows that there is a function called the “jib” which refers to crane’s arm. Both are separated by the “mast. These three function are like a lever. If you look at it in a different approach, the counterweight is the lever’s load, the jib is the lever’s force and the mast is the lever’s pivot point. When a force is applied onto the jib it would go downwards, however the counterweight balances it by using levers’ law. The tower crane can stretch up to 230 feet into the air, which is 70 meters. It can carry anything that weight less than 39,690 pounds. But if the load is applied right at the edge of the jib the tower crane won’t be able to balance the load. Ultimately for people within reach, if unfortunate a storm come hits the place and people weren’t prepared from this situation or wasn’t informed then the tower crane may loose balance. It could fall if the anchor bold are not stable enough to handle the storm.
Overall I think that tower crane is beneficial. Mostly because it helped Hong Kong to solve the reducing of areas and at the same time to provide citizens more homes. However another problem is they are complaining that the homes provided are too expensive and the area provided for an individual house is too small. Despite that it is a very intelligent invention which based on levers’ law.
Every so often workers have to go up the tower and unwind the wire that is located in the generator at the top of the tower (Campbell). The reason they have to unwind the wire is so the wind turbine can turn into the wind to create energy. These wind turbines only rotate one way, they don’t rotate both ways, so after a while the wire turning the wind turbine tightens and the wind turbine is unable to turn anymore. So the workers have to go up to the generator of the wind turbine and unwind the wire manually (Campbell). Also, with all the wiring and gears up in the generator, workers have to go up the ladder which is found on the inside of a turbine, and check to make sure everything is alright (Gipe).
One subject that simply can not be ignored no matter where you find yourself in Anaheim. The homeless population in Anaheim is rapidly growing and there seems to be no end to this conundrum. Sadly, these poor individuals can be found anywhere some small amount of shelter is. Thus, you can constantly find them lingering around parks or on the sides of freeways waiting to beg the next passerby for enough money to make it through the day. In Anaheim they can usually found at the various parks we have around the city. The heart of a person is only so delicate to feel remorse or sadness whilst the less fortunate of society wanders within their eyes. But surprisingly enough when the time comes down to it you often hear the phrase,

Healthcare for the Homeless (HCH) started in 1985 and was one of the first 19 Federal Funded projects. In the early 80’s, they recognized that homelessness was an issue. In 1987, it was operated out of bonds in Liberty Heights. In 1989, they moved to Park Ave and stayed there for 20 years. In 2010, they moved to Fallsway and still are there till this day and are expanding their building. HCH provides tons of services for the homeless population such as physical health care services, behavioral health care services, and supportive services such as finding housing, keeping housing, finding jobs and much more. HCH wants to decrease the homeless population statistics and provide second chances for everyone individual.
Before jumping in, there is one important question that must be addressed – is there any difference between the jib and the crane? These terms are often used interchangeably, hence the concern. The crane is, specifically, the arm which does the lifting while the jib is just the name for the crane that is used
Homelessness is not something that I could ever imagine completely. I, like everyone else, have a simple idea of what it would be like to be homeless. There is so much more to being homeless than most believe. My exposure to Habitat for Humanity is showing me some about the idea of living in a lower income family. This exposure is an experience that all high school and college students should have.

One World Trade Center (WTC) is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere measuring up at 1776 feet tall. The built output sets new standards of design, construction, and prestige. Its beauty in New York City’s magical skyline makes it an icon. It is the most recognised and desirable office address in the world. In this essay I plan to argue that the social, political and economic status of society has affected the built output of this building considerably, for the good. Making the building one of the best skyscrapers in the world.
Homelessness is everywhere, it is not a new trend and is a growing problem. Many people ask themselves should I help the homeless or not; it is easier to just ignore the problem than to give a helping hand. Every person needs help at one point or another in their life and homeless people should be no different. Assisting the homeless with healthcare, housing, and childcare are ways people are able to and should help the homeless.
