In terms of Cutty’s “job” of rounding up students who do not attend school to take into school for one day, speaks to a larger issue. In order for the Middle School to receive their minimum attendance numbers, in order to receive additional funding, each student who does not attend school is required to attend school one day in January and one day in February. The children seem well educated in this system, and probably see the requirement enforced by the school to only attend two days of school
