The role of quarterback is by far the most prestigious position in the game of football. Only an exceptional player would be given this responsibility on America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys…only someone like Tony Romo. With all that he has accomplished in the game of football, Romo will go down in history as one of the greatest quarterbacks, not only in the Dallas Cowboys franchise, but in the whole league. Exceeding expectations time and time again, it is obvious that the star he wears on his helmet is well-deserved. Although Romo is often criticized as one of the worst quarterbacks in the league, once the facts are considered, most will agree that this is hardly the case.
The game of football requires the whole team’s commitment to win, but Romo is often held individually responsible for their demise. Oddly enough, no one seems to want to hear his individual statistics. Though stats aren’t the final determiner of greatness, they still say a lot about him. Over the course of his career, Romo has accomplished more with less than all the former Dallas greats and even most of the quarterbacks in the league. Over the course of his career, he has maintained an impressive quarterback rating of 95.8, which is not only the highest in Dallas history, but the fifth highest in NFL history. Romo has also thrown for more yards per year than any other Dallas quarterback, averaging at nearly three thousand seven-hundred. This he has accomplished over the course of just eight years, while his famed predecessors, Troy Aikman, Roger Staubach, and Danny White were on the field for eleven or more years. Romo doesn’t have the same support that they had in their years as quarterback, such as great protection, a solid running game, and a s...

...has a knack for improvising and finding hidden opportunities that most other quarterbacks would probably miss. Romo’s level of talent, intellect, and creativity on the field are unparalleled, though many critics continue to magnify his weaknesses far more than his strengths.
Despite the amplified disapproval that Romo is often subject to, his outstanding talent, commitment, determination, and skill ought to assure fans that the Dallas Cowboys really are in good hands. Tony Romo is undoubtedly among the greatest quarterbacks to play the game of football. Though he has his flaws just like every other football player, Romo does deserve much more credit than criticism. Once the rest of the team can rally behind Tony Romo’s efforts to bring the team to victory, then perhaps fans will begin to see him for who he truly is: one of the greatest quarterbacks in football.
Coaching any sport is much harder than it seems. There are some jobs that almost anyone with the right education can do. Coaching is definitely not one of those jobs. One can get educated on drawing X's and O's on a paper for decades and still might be far from being a successful coach. Of course knowledge of the sport is very important too but to be successful in a job like coaching, one has to dedicate himself to his job; his job has to be his life. This is the major reason even those who hate Patriots still respect Bill Belichick and agree that he had unique abilities that make him so successful. His exceptional intelligence, his ability to break down and exploit game film, his singular discipline and his almost unmatched work ethic makes him probably the best coach in the NFL today and even one of the best in the history of the NFL.
Many think Tom Brady is a great quarterback. He has great statistics and has won many Super Bowls.

As a kid he sometimes let his leadership be a little too strong and got a little bit bossy. As Jockbio.com states, he was frequently scolded in school for bossing his classmates around in sports and other group activities. Many times his teammates would try to get Aaron to change plays in the huddle, one of his greatest dilemmas was a play a teammate wanted to change, but Aaron made a justified decision and later explained with this simple statement, “I had a dilemma. Ferguson kept telling me to change the play in the huddle to a go route. But I couldn't do that” (thinkexist.com). This is something I credit to his leadership skills. In his NFL career, though, this leader like way of his doing things was a great asset to the Green Bay Packers team. With his contribution of skill, talent, and leadership he led the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl win in
In 1979 a man named Joe Montana was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers. In just two seasons he led the 49ers to their first ever super bowl, and on January 24, 1982, the legend of “Joe Cool” was born. For many years Joe was seen as the greatest QB of all time. He would go on to win three more championships and 3 Super Bowl MVPs while completing many late-game comebacks. He was looked up to many people including a tall, skinny, unathletic kid from San Mateo, California who would grow up to surpass his idol as the greatest QB of all time.
The NFL (National Football League) is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America and although it has been very successful to this point, in many ways it is the epitome of dysfunction. The league faces a multitude of problems, many of which are very complex. Many argue that since been chosen to succeed the retiring Paul Tagliabue in 2006 Roger Goodell has worked primarily towards improving the NFL for the sake of the players, coaches, refs, and perhaps most importantly the fans who actually make the organization viable. Sadly, those who hold this idealized view are delusional and should take into account that NFL is an unincorporated nonprofit association and that Goodell’s number-one priority always has to be appeasing the owners who fund each of the 32 teams (bar the Green Bay Packers who own the rare distinction of being the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional team in the entire country). This makes addressing problems very difficult and many have been unsolved ...
...y would argue that no other quarterback will be able to ever match his level of success. Even though he was interested in other sports as a young boy, it is crystal clear that he was supposed to play football. At six feet five inches and 230 pounds, we can assume that he would be a formidable opponent in any sport; but looks don't count. Actions are what count, and Peyton has certainly delivered in that department.
Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers will be taking on the Denver Broncos this Sunday, in the final game of the NFL season, the Super Bowl. Recently Cam Newton made a statement, “I’m an African-American quarterback that scares people because they haven’t seen nothing that they can compare me to,” Newton said. (Rhoden) This quote has been criticized all of the nation because he thinks people have been racist toward him because the public thinks he celebrates too much with his dances.
During Peyton Manning’s sixteen year career in the NFL, he has acquired many fans that have an optimal level of respect for him. When Peyton Manning was released from the Indianapolis Colts in 2011 he then became a Denver Bronco. Although, he was not part of the Indianapolis Colts team any longer he still receives much appreciation from his old fans. Chris Greenburg reports, “Making his First appearance in Lucas Oil Stadium as a visitor after fourteen ...
When you really lay out all of his attributes both on and off the field you really start to see the bigger picture. Not only is this guy one of the best in the NFL now but he could be one of the best wide receivers in the history of the league. He will not be remembered solely as an amazing talent however, he will also be remembered for his of the field activities. Such as helping out the paralyzed kid in need of a friend in tough times, or helping kids in need of a role model. For everything that he has shown me to this point, even after he is old and done with football he will be a great man to others in his society in the future. His story goes to show all people adults, and kids alike that if you keep a good head on your shoulders, and never quit you can achieve your biggest and wildest dreams.
In the past three seasons Tom Brady has thrown over 90 touchdowns and only 13 interceptions. Tom brady is 40 years old, he should be retired; however, he keeps playing as a important part of the team and never giving up. He has been playing with the Patriots for 18 years! Thats older than me. Also, he has over 66,000 passing yards in his career. He has fourth best passing yards for any quarterback with only Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, and Drew Brees ahead of him; all respected names in the NFL. Overall Tom brady is a great quarterback and he really helps contribute to all the Patriots
“Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are the preeminent QBs of their generation (Battista and Breer).” Two quarterbacks, from two completely different backgrounds, are fighting for supremacy among all the men to quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). Football in the day and age today is a landscape unlike a few centuries ago. On paper just about any coach in the NFL would start Peyton Manning, former first pick in the 1998 draft, over Tom Brady, former one hundred and ninety ninth pick in the 2000 draft, just based on where each player was selected. Looks, although appealing, doesn’t reflect the careers of two of the greatest QBs in NFL history. Manning is a former number one selection, who has done nothing but live up to and exceed expectations. Brady was selected five rounds later at one hundred and ninety nine, and has done nothing but turned doubters into believers. In the midst of the madness, which player stands forsaken as the greatest quarterback of their generation?
A fanbase that this weekend will endure another quarterback who is likely doomed to fail, only to be replaced by another eventual failure? Can you imagine being a Chicago Bears fan? A fanbase that has to watch Jay Cutler break down week in and week out, and has not had a really talented quarterback in decades?
All kids grow up wanting to be just like NFL players. Kids look up to NFL players and strive to be just like them. NFL players aren't just great at what they do, they are great at being a leader and leading their team to do the best of there abiliting. All NFL players know that they can make a kid into something tremendous. The quotes that NFL players say is something great that push little kids to be the best.
Philip Rivers is undoubtedly a man with extreme talent. An NFL quarterback who is underestimated and underrated. Neither Philip Rivers nor the Chargers have received a Super Bowl win; should that take away from the countless awards and records he has broken? Does a Super Bowl make or break a player’s true status? {THESIS}
