The most fascinating and well-known ship in history was the Titanic, which was built in Belfast, Northern Ireland on the 31st of March in 1909. When the Titanic boarded on her maiden voyage on the 11th of April in 1912, the world was filled with confidence and respect only to realize that in just a few short days, their emotions would be overwhelmed with feelings of heartache and shock. The time period of the Titanic is now historical, but the heart-rending personal tragedies of the passengers aboard the “Unsinkable” ship still remains a powerful focus in our world today. In today’s society, it is hard for us to visualize the vibrant differences between the different classes of passengers who were aboard the Titanic. This magnificent blow to the Titanic went unnoticed to many of the passengers who dismissed the vibrations as part of the large equipment needed to power the enormous ship. As soon as the gash was opened millions of gallons of bitterly cold water began to flood the first five compartments of the ship. As the ship began to take on water a list (a change in how the ship floats) began to become more and more apparent, and frightened passengers began to flood the open decks of the ship. Once the true nature of the ships damage became known, chaos ensued as frightened passengers scrambled to find a place on the twenty lifeboats available. A mere two hours and forty minutes later the entirety of the titanic slipped below the oceans surface to never be seen again.
