The Impact of Smoking

The current problem with smoking in today’s society is that its not only killing peoples wallets its literally killing people themselves. In many cases around the globe older and younger men and women are dieing from lung cancer because in fact they are smokers and the tobacco companies could care less because they are making money. Smoking causes emphysema in the lungs which is a build of tar in the lungs from the chemical Nicotine found in cigarettes. Dictionary.com deffine’s smoke is the visible vapor and gases given off by a burning or smoldering substance especially the gray, brown, or blackish mixture of gases and suspended carbon particles resulting from the combustion of weed, pent, coal, or other organic material. So the real issue with smoking in the end is that its killing people in today’s society but there’s one point they can argue its there choice to smoke or not to harm themselves or stay healthy by not smoking. In return cigarette companies have created a new type of electric cigarettes that give the same effect but just don’t contain the harmful chemicals. Many products have been created and organizations to help smokers quit but cant simply reach out and connect with tobacco users they have patches people put on for approximately 3 weeks and it declines their need to smoke. It is up to the people to decide if they will smoke or not but its up to the tobacco companies to provide a product that will satisfy there customers and not only keep them safe but keep them loyal. Unfortunately they have not stayed loyal to a healthy product and this is a growing issue today.

Smoking has had many problems with people’s health state and the well being of others. So the government has created certain agencies that would otherwise help the people in a situation that involved Smoking. These agencies protect not only the health of the people but they provide support for those in need and they give stability to all who look to quit and other options if a person is struggling. Some of these agencies include the ATF, AHRQ, the IHS, and NCI the National Cancer Institute particularly pertaining to smoking and the effects of long exposure to nicotine and other harmful substances in cigarettes. One of the most important agencies is the NCI- National Cancer Institute because it directly deals with the cause and harmful effects of cancer from smoker patients.
