Recommended: Social inequality higher and lower class

Material welfare is one of the criteria used to identify social status of individual in a society. Generally, material well-being depends on wage. Commonly, rate of wage depends on what kind of job person would occupy. Therefore, as people perform different functions it may cause wage gap and consequently social inequality towards material welfare in the society. Karl Marx and Robert B. Reich’s works cover an issue of financial inequality between poor and rich population in a global context. Both authors differently described current conditions of wealth people in particular and made different predictions concerning their future. From the Marx’s perspective, wealthiest in a society is bourgeoisie, proprietor of the means of production who exploit the labor of proletariat. (Marx, p.36, 59) According to Reich, wealthiest in the society are symbolic analysts in comparison with routine producers and in-person servers. (Reich, p.1) In “The Communist Manifesto” Marx claimed that conditions of existence and prosperity of bourgeoisie ultimately will be directed toward destruction of bourgeoisie as a class. (Marx, p.34-35) These essential conditions create set of destructive consequences for bourgeoisie. Marx highlighted that property relations, expansion of production and trade induced by constant revolutionizing of production which is essential characteristics of bourgeois society leads to unfavorable outcome for bourgeoisie. (Marx, p.33) In contrast, Reich asserts that symbolic analysts are in a great demand in a world and it is quite possible that this tendency will continue or rich will continue getting richer. (Marx, p.33-35)All work of Marx, “Communist Manifesto”, is basically an ideology which condemns whole bourgeois society and wealth people. Therefore Marx puts wealthiest people on the worst position in the society as a defeated class. In contrast, Reich did not consider poor and rich as the antagonistic classes, he merely examined their position and conditions in the society separately. Thus, Reich claims that symbolic analysts or the wealthiest people in the society only continue getting richer compared with routine workers and in-person servers. (Reich, p.1, 28) Both authors’ topics cover social inequality towards wage gap in the society and attempted to assess conditions of each representive of different strata of the society.
