When I was working as a Customer Service Representative in the Bank, one of my responsibilities was to supervise the tellers. I was friends with two of the tellers working there at the time. We used to go out together outside of work and had great time. At some point I started noticing that they are being too friendly with each other and acting inappropriate for a professional environment. I decided to confront them and they confessed to me that they were dating. That is when I realized that I was faced with an ethical dilemma.
I had a choice to make : one of them was to look away, pretending I am not noticing anything and do nothing; second choice was to talk to them and try to explain that they can't continue behaving this way, and the third choice which is the right choice is to report them to my manager. I had to ponder for a while, and that's when I realized that my job was important to me and that I was their supervisor first and their friend second and I had to do something about this situation if I consider myself a professional. I felt that it would be fare if I would give them the benefit of the doubt and let them know how I feel and what situation that they are putting me. I was hoping they would start acting like adults. I was trying to resolve this situation at all costs without getting upper management involved and save them out of trouble. I tried to keep their and my own dignity.
One day, I pulled them aside and I confronted them about their behavior and told them that it needs to stop. They need to start acting professionally at work and if they chose to continue to date each other, they can do that outside of work.
After our lengthy conversation they became very distant and upset with me; however, I felt that I did the right thing at that time. Furthermore, they continued to act inappropriate and it was starting to be very noticeable no me and some of the customers, which were making comments. At that point I was left with no choice but to report them to my manager. When I talked to my manager I told her the whole situation including me talking to them prior to me coming to her and I got no result from that.

Try to discover the root of the problem. See why they are acting this way. 9/10 times it could be an issue that has been caused by a misunderstanding. If you find the problem it can truly help defuse the issue and potentially help everyone in the long run. A simple sleuthing around can go a long way.
In the profession of Dental Hygiene, ethical dilemmas are nearly impossible to avoid, and most hygienists at some point in their professional life will have to face and answer ethical questions. Some ethical conflicts the dental hygienist may encounter can be quite complex and an obvious answer may not be readily available. In the article Ethical Decision Making, Phyllis Beemsterboer suggests an ethical decision-making model can aide the dental hygienist in making appropriate decisions when confronted with an ethical situation, and that the six-step model can serve dental hygienists in making the most advantageous ethical decision (2010).

However, yesterday, I walked into our staff room at work and there were six of my fellow coworkers sitting down talking about the issues that we are currently facing on the job. I told them that I understands what they are saying, but lets us be positive and see what we can do to fix the problems rather than talk negative about other people. Furthermore, I continued to say to them
While conducting research studies, the American Psychological Association Ethical principles must be taken into account. This study has a few ethical issues that must be discussed including the use of children; especially children with developmental delays, privacy concerns, and other debriefing concerns for ABA therapies.
One ethical dilemma that comes up is how notes are taken for all students in the Glendale Union High School District, including Orlando. Typically, notes are entered onto Ms. Karter’s computer after a student is seen, and they are put into a system that every teacher and social worker in the district uses. Not enough information has been reported at this time about how, but it has been discussed with Ms. Karter that other individuals that utilize this software could theoretically read her notes on the students she sees. Because of this, she tries to keep her notes as vague as possible, in order to maintain student confidentiality. This ethical issue has been addressed by how notes have been entered into the system,
All things considered, irritating collaborators are the reason "The Office" was such a hit. It's the reason we cut Far Side and Dilbert kid's shows to hold tight our desk area dividers. What's more, as you're gesturing in understanding, I wager one of these repulsive characters has most likely recently stopped themselves in your work-space to talk your ear off about their most recent dating dramatization or their feelings about the throwing of the "Fifty Shades of Gray" motion picture.
When we go to work every day we all have to face co-workers that just get under our skin. It can be for a number of different reasons, they are too loud, they complain too much, they are not doing their job, or they are just breathing when they come in in the morning, whatever the case maybe at one point or another everybody has experienced these things. However, we are not perfect either so we may be that person in the office that most people secretly hates because we do any number of things and we just do not realize it. It is important to take this fact into consideration when you begin to dislike your co-workers and before addressing an issue with them or the supervisor you should affirm with yourself that it is not actually
There is one way she could have resolved the situation. The solution is simple; stop being immature and gossiping about others. I do not think there is anything wrong with communicating with your employees an...
In this case, the issue here is whether to accept Mercy’s request and hire her nephew Mike or not. It is unethical to hire a less qualified candidate rather than a better one for one’s own personal gain (in this case getting a house without paying any commission). On the other hand, the best candidate is not always the right person for the job. As a human resource manager, I should take various things into consideration when making my hiring decision such as people that will be affected by the decision. These are called stakeholders and will be discussed further in the paper.
According to the scenario, Jacob and Krystal worked in an ad agency that started five years ago in Topeka, Kansas. The ad agency was barely making a profit and needed a large client, which led the agency to put in a bid for a city government contract. Due to Jacob’s son being sick, he was preoccupied with taking care of his son and left Krystal with most of the work. Krystal prepared the presentation and got with Jacob the day before the final meeting with the client. Krystal knew that Jacob has good speaking skills and they both decided that Jacob would do the presentation. Jacob’s presentation was a success and they successfully sealed the contract. The owners of the company were so impressed and gave Jacob a bonus check of $10,000. Jacob saw this opportunity where he could use the money for his son’s medical bills. However, he knew that Krystal did most of the work and deserved the bonus money. Jacob is disappointed and his situation has left him with a decision on what to do with the money. This case study will pinpoint Jacob’s ethical dilemma and what ethical action he should take. Also, the roles and responsibilities of an employee dealing with an ethical situation as well as the ways of an organization to maintain ethical practices in the workplace
If the manager do not understand these people (their behaviour), then how can he manage them?
My workplace environment at one time was a pleasant place to be. All the employees got along and worked together very well. We were a team and liked to help each other out when one was in need. It was like clock work. We would go to work wanting to be there to do our jobs because we all knew we would have fun throughout the day while we were working. Then a new manager joined the team. It was not planned, we knew our store needed some help but the employees did not know for definite when we would be getting a new supervisor. The first day was like any usual first day. Meeting the employees, learning the names and a little bit about each person. After observing my new supervisor for a couple of hours I felt as if he was in a hurry to get the first day work out of the way and leave. He did not seem the least bit interested in the people he was going to be working with for over eight hours a day. I blew off my thoughts and felt it was too early to judge the situation. Well I was wrong to blow off my feelings, because I was right to think something was not quite right about this man. During his training he did not want any one below his position to help him out. If he was having troubles with the computer he had to go to the General Manager or another supervisor even though the employees probably know the computers just as well as managers because we use them all day long. He would look for thirty minutes for something in dry storage before he ever asked an employee. I personally thought that was unusual, not asking for help unless it was management. It seems like to me that it would have made him feel less superior if he had to ask one of his employees for help. At that point I knew working with this particular supervisor would not be pleasant. As time went on the situations got increasingly worse. He would scream at us employees for the most ridiculous things. Showing up to work without my name tag would be means for him sending me home.
Conflict can occur anywhere and at any place, and recently there has been an ongoing conflict that has been manifesting at work, between a supervisor and an employee, and I am stuck in the middle of their conflict. For the past few months, a coworker has been moved from seat to seat, all over the call center. At first, the conflict was very difficult to see, however, between the supervisor and the employee, atmosphere of tension was felt when interaction was made. The employee, Ana Maria, began showing acts of defiance against her supervisor’s instructions, and additionally began spreading her discontent with fellow employees. As a result from her discontent being spread with to the other employees, work productivity began to fall, which caused
