Electric cars are attempting to bring on an uprising. A modern company, Tesla Motors, is bringing the all-electric car to life. Tesla has been very successful in the past couple of years, engineering a vehicle that will impress safety standards. Although it has been quite a bumpy ride along the way for CEO and founder Elon Musk of Tesla Motors. Tesla has big plans for the future. However, the plans will not be necessary unless Tesla is allowed to sell their vehicles directly to the consumer and not through dealerships. There are several great traits about Tesla vehicles. The model S, which is Tesla’s first sedan, is Consumer Report’s “top pick” in the survey. Not only were they top pick in the sedan class vehicles, but they were also the overall top pick among consumers. This means that in a survey it ranked higher than GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda, and many others. (LeBeau, Phillip) This is quite the accomplishment. One of the reasons for its highest picks is the car high safety ratings. The NHTSA or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded the Tesla Model S a five star safety rating in every category and subcategory. They would’ve rated it even higher if they could; sadly, the NHTSA’s scoring system only goes up to five. There is another chance for the Model S to score higher. The VSS or the Vehicle Safety Score, which is the safety score given back to the manufactures gave the Model S a 5.4. This score is higher than any class of vehicle on the road ways to date and has the lowest risk of any injury front, side, rear, and rollover included. The 2006 documentary about Who Killed the Electric Car shows the determination of several California citizens whose willpower was to keep the electric car alive and running. The first existence of the electric car under General Motors (GM) dates back to 1996 when they launched the EV1 electric vehicle. And although several consumers took to this new form of transportation, a car that was powered by an electric motor in place of the basic gasoline engine, GM decided to take back its newest technology and removed all existing EV1’s from off of the streets. With several upset consumers who were concerned as to both what GM and the government were up to and how they could get their cars back. Overall, the fact behind why the electric car became such a superior commodity and then vanished was the question being asked. The electric vehicle was destroyed during 2004 and 2005 because a car of this statue was far ahead of its time and greater parts of consumers were not about “going green.” Today the electric car has begun to revive itself because of the existence of global warming, and the efficiency of the electric car is rising. In other words, the electric car has been brought back to life, and many automobile manufacturers are gaining interest.

As discussed in the book, they talk about how technology is a huge thing right now, and their will be cars that drive themselves, and it will have a designated area to arrive at. This can be a good and bad thing. When someone is persuading someone to buy this car in the near future, they will not include the downfall of buying these cars, they only focus on the good. With a car being all technology, the chances of a wreck happening are much slimmer. The chances of their being a glitch in the technology of the car, or the car completely shutting off and could leave someone stranded. Dealers only focus on the good, which is not good either. If they were to include the bad things about the car, the chances of that person buying the car would go down, so why would they do that? When the Tesla Model S was first released, Consumer Reports named the Electric Vehicle (EV) the most remarkable auto ever tested. The consumer protection publication; that has been looking out for their readers since 1936; said that the Flagship vehicle from Elon Musk’s Motor Company, was essentially flawless. Its performance on the track and in safety testing was second to none. However, due to a drop in quality class; from average to below; the Tesla Model S has been removed from Consumer Reports’ Recommended List.

...rther then the end of 2010, the introduction of the electric car is not far to come. With proper government regulations and consumer knowledge, adoptability of the electric car is possible. However, one can drastically differ in opinion as to why the required elements to support such a vehicle were not readily planned to facilitate such a change. The inadequacies draw wavering concerns for both consumers and business looking for the return of value and profit. The larger picture needs to be remembered in which oil is not a renewable resource and results in pollution and environmental hazard. Consumers and business must work together to overcome the roadblocks down the road and support each other in the introduction of and future of the electric car. Adjustments will have to be made on both sides to ensure success and minimize the society and economy disruptions.

In doing so, Tesla Motors took all possible steps and measures to put to rest and further speculations associated with Model S fires.
In the recent past, Tesla has been noted as a great competitor in the automotive industry. This is attributed to its three huge competitive advantages. Generally, the advantage lies in its ability to bring about innovative disruption in the industry. This include; a strong battery supply chain that is sustainable in itself, a supercharger network celebrated by the customers and a software system several leagues ahead of its competitors (Zach, 2015).

The company had its headquarters in Palo Alto and at the time of its inception, Elon Musk was its chief executive officer (CEO) (Hunger, 2010). Environmental concerns have been raised from time to time because of the dependency on the gasoline-fueled engine as the chief auto powertrain technology.
Tesla has managed to build a notable brand name for itself not in the electric car market, but in the overall automotive industry.
