Most teenagers today suffer from different types of disorders, but the most known type of disorder that teenagers face today is known as the bipolar disorder. What is a bipolar disorder? First of all a bipolar disorder is also commonly known as a mood disorder. It is when a person alternates or changes between hopelessness and lethargy depression and the overexcited state of mania. Mania, on the other hand, is a hyperactive, wildly optimistic state in which a teenager is excited and feels that they have a lot of energy and are much more active than usual . Depression makes you feel very sad and "down," and you are much less active than usual. However, a bipolar disorder causes a person to make serious shifts in their mood and change into different states of emotion. A person can be sad for a while and then go into being happy and then they become depressed in just a short time. Most of the teenagers today suffer from this disorder. I, as a 16 year old teen as well as many other teenagers, have our ups and downs every day but this does not make it a bipolar disorder. The bipolar disorder is much more severe because the symptoms can hurt you in many ways. It can hurt you on a schools activity, on your job. It can cause damage to your relationship and it can make more damage to yourself and your daily life. A bipolar disorder can last for days, weeks, and even months. What really causes the bipolar disorder? Scientist have not yet found the actual cause of a bipolar disorder but they think that genes can cause a bipolar disorder because this illness can run in families. An anxiety disorder is also likely to develop the bipolar disorder. Just because you have a bipolar disorder doesn’t make you any different from any others. We are all the same and if a person with bipolar disorder wants to be successful, they would do anything to reach their goals and be just like everyone else. There has been many experiments conducted in this case, and results do show that people with bipolar disorder have been and always will be if you’re capable of being successful.
