1.0 INTRODUCTION
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Bill Gates are two prominent figures who are well-known for their astound list of achievements. Tun Dr Mahathir is the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia who had been ruling the country for twenty two years, the longest period of all prime ministers. Mahathir is known as Father of Modernisation because during his tenure of ruling, he had imposed a series of improvisation projects which made Malaysia to go through rapid development in many aspects. Mahathir had brilliantly come out with a project entitled Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) which aimed at propelling the nation into the digital age. (Loh, 2010).
William Henry Bill Gates III or known as Bill Gates is famous for his numerous contributions in technology through the creation of Microsoft. Bill Gates is an American business magnate, investor, computer programmer, inventor and philanthropist who become a millionaire for owning Microsoft, the world’s largest personal-computer software company. From year 1995 to 2009, he had been consistently ranked as the world’s wealthiest people by Forbes magazine except for year 2008, when he was ranked third.
Behind the success of these two prominent figures, there lie many factors that influence their journey towards success. In this write up, I will be discussing about the nurture factors that had contributed to the development of Mahathir and Bill especially in aspect of cognitive development and language development. According to Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, nurture can be defined as the care and attention given to someone or something that is growing or developing.
