All over the world there are charity programs to help the less fortunate. In Asia especially children are the ones who need the help of such institutions. Taste of Asia is a special Event for charity which takes place every year. Many Volunteers attend it to help the less fortunate, but it is also an opportunity for them to improve their Image. With various food to taste and interesting shows to watch, the Event offers something unique for the people.

Location and date
Taste of Asia takes place every year in San Diego. This Year the Event took place in the Balboa Park where the international Cottages are located. It is very easy to reach and it had enough space for the people who attended. The Event took place on a Saturday in September 27th, 2008. They could get there by public transports or by car. There are enough parking spaces which are free to use and there is an easy access from the downtown and Mission Valley areas using the Metropolitan Transit System (tasteofasiasd.com, n.d.).
To locate the Event at the international Cottages is also a very good idea for the marketing part since there is also the House of Pacific Relations (HPR) located. It says on their homepage:
“The House of Pacific Relations (HPR), located in San Diego’s Balboa Park, is a consortium of ‘houses’ representing 32 countries. The HPR promotes multicultural goodwill and understanding through educational and cultural programs. The park contains historic 1935 Exposition cottages plus 4 new cottages where HPR member countries can offer visitors a window to their culture, history and traditions.” (sdhpr.org, n.d.)
Many Cultures meet at the international Cottages and people are attracted to the different customs. So even people who might not be interested in charity come to experience something from Asia. With this they donate money without really knowing or noticing it. And since this location is very famous for its different cultures it helps to attract people. It is also located directly at a street and the people can take the free Tram of the Balboa Park to go there. The atmosphere is very important because people will spend more money if they feel comfortable and stay longer at the event.
Attendance and Demographics
Many Asian restaurants participated in the Event. There were 16 stalls with food tasting and three were you could buy a remembrance.
The Maine Lobster Festival is supposed to be a celebration inviting anyone and everyone to celebrate the delectable lobster, but Wallace uses it to shed some light on the welfare of the animal when cooking and eating it. Trask unveils the cruel reality of suffering and struggling through a native Hawaiian discourse. Most of the world is unaware of this.

Scissors, Paper, Rock! For my first cultural event, I attended the University Performing Dancers rendition of “Scissors, Paper, Rock!”. This dance performance took place in University Hall here on campus. This performance is considered a cultural event because the game Rock, Paper, Scissors is an ancient game that many different cultures have claimed to invented.
If someone were to ask people ever wanted to see almost every artist from any genre of music in one place? Of course, anyone would say yes, because most people haven't been to an event like the huge one that happens in California each year. This is an event many people save up all year to attend just maybe once in their life time. The Coachella Music and Arts Festival, it is one of the most talked about festivals that this generation knows about. It is like a whole new world for most people each time they attend.
Therefore in order to compete in today’s global world which requires each country saw what was to become the most important thing, then 3 aspects of culture, tourism and hospitality of its people, can be important aspect to see or judge a country. Culture is first rate or first base a country containing historical values and norms can affect how people act to be friendly, as well as the diversity of cultures can create an interest then this can we make as the promotion so that it could be an event that could become a tourism attraction to defend a country capable of competing at that position and can be taken into account.
I took a friend with me to experience it as well. When we first arrived around 7 p.m., which the event started at 6p.m. through 10 p.m., there was hardly any parking. We drove through Paseo first, and then parked at the end of the strip at a gas station called Samir’s Beer, Ice, Bread, and Milk. We both got a kick out of the name. When we started walking down the strip we realized how hungry we were. There were plenty of food joints that all smelled, oh so good. One of the food joints had fire pits outside to eat next to. I told myself that I would definitely have to come back and eat out here.
It expands all the way to the ricotta and truffle egg toast in Little Italy. The shrimp dumplings, rice noodle egg rolls and Xiaolongbao crafted over in Chinatown. Going all the way over to La Villita, or Little Village to sample the chilaquiles and the Taco de Soya pollo. Then we have Polish pierogies and Cuban coffee right downtown. But, it’s not only the food that is to be tasted it’s also adventure.You need that taste to venture out to Chinatown and to explore the different parts of the unkown. That 's the taste that probably brought most of us out-of-towners here a taste for something new and different you can rarely get anywhere else.
I think that, these kinds of places are meaningful to people because they are natural and people can be there alone, away from their everyday life.
After researching the impacts events have on regional development I have come to agree with the statement ‘The events industry is an effective and appropriate vehicle for facilitation of regional development’. The significance of this thesis is to critically discuss and demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the events industry and regional development while also providing an understanding of the history of events and the increasing significance of the event industry in contemporary society. Real life examples from around the world are used to recognize and justify the event industry as part of the tourism sector and explore specific implications to event management. Various sectors of the events industry are identified and discussed to support the theoretical discussion on how the events industry is an effective and appropriate vehicle for facilitation of regional development.
